VeChain to Launch New Debit Card Merging Blockchain Rewards with Everyday Spending

0

VeChain is reportedly planning to launch a new payment card that combines blockchain-based rewards with everyday spending.

Dubbed the B3TR debit card, the card will allow users to pay for everyday items such as groceries and clothing using the B3TR token.

Popular VET investor Sebastian Rok shared the initiative today, noting that the VeChain Foundation has confirmed the ongoing development of the B3TR debit card.

Features of B3TR Debit Card

According to Sebastian, the card eliminates off-ramp friction and intermediaries while enabling a tap-and-pay experience. For context, B3TR is a reward token for the VeBetterDAO ecosystem. The system uses it to incentivize users to engage in sustainable actions like learning, walking, recycling, community services, and meditation.

Essentially, the debit card bridges the gap between Web2 and Web3 by merging the digital token economy with traditional spending. This way, users can engage in certain activities to earn points, which are paid in B3TR tokens and can later be used for everyday purchases through the upcoming debit card.

Notably, Sebastian expects the card to give B3TR actual monetary utility, onboard non-crypto users, and enhance the overall adoption of projects within the VeBetterDAO ecosystem.

Further, the investor speculated that the B3TR debit card would foster adoption among three user groups: merchants, Web3 skeptics, and impact seekers.

Conclusively, Sebastien emphasized that the card would give B3TR tokens real-world value while reinforcing VeChain’s vision of rewarding positive behavior.

In the meantime, the VeChain Foundation has not issued a public statement confirming the upcoming launch of the B3TR debit card.

Bybit Lists B3TR

Meanwhile, Sebastian’s commentary comes a few days after Bybit, the world’s second-biggest crypto exchange by daily volume, listed the B3TR token for trading. Currently, B3TR is listed on Bybit under two trading pairs–B3TR/USDT and B3TR/USDC.

B3TR is trading at $0.2143 per token, marking a decline of 5.74% over the past 24 hours. The token ranks as the 3,205th biggest cryptocurrency on CoinMarketCap, with a valuation of $40.56 million. Its volume has soared 19.53% over the past day to $15.17 million.

Nasdaq Files 19b-4 For a Grayscale Avalanche ETF With the SEC

0

Grayscale seeks approval to launch yet another crypto ETF, with Nasdaq filing a 19b-4 for an Avalanche ETF with the SEC on its behalf.

On Friday, the prominent New York-based stock exchange Nasdaq submitted a 19b-4 application seeking to list and trade an Avalanche spot exchange-traded fund. The filing, done on Grayscale’s stead, seeks a rule change to offer alternative exposure to AVAX, the native token of the Avalanche ecosystem.

Approval Process for a Grayscale Avalanche ETF Underway

The titan asset manager already offers its clients exposure to AVAX through its trust. Launched last August, the Grayscale Avalanche Trust offers a closed-end exposure to the cryptocurrency with an expense rate of 2.50% and has accumulated $1.7 million so far.

However, Grayscale seeks to convert the trust to a spot ETF tracking the AVAX token. If approved, the fund would offer a more flexible and cost-effective way for traditional investors to own the cryptocurrency indirectly.

According to the filing, Coinbase, a US-based crypto exchange, will be the crypto custodian, while BNY Mellon, the largest custodian bank in the world, will act as the administrator and transfer agent. Moreover, CoinDesk Indices will provide an index for the ETF.

Meanwhile, the bullish development could not sway the prevalent bearishness in the AVAX token, which mirrors the broader market downtrend. At the time of writing, the 14th largest cryptocurrency by market cap trades at $20.2, down a staggering 8% in the past 24 hours.

Grayscale Files for Yet Another Altcoin ETF

Interestingly, Grayscale’s Avalanche ETF application comes two weeks after asset manager VanEck submitted an S-1 filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the VanEck Avalanche ETF. Notably, the firm registered the investment product in Delaware on March 10.

Grayscale also recently filed for a Cardano spot ETF, its first standalone financial product tracking ADA. This adds to its growing list of altcoin investment product applications with the SEC, having filed for XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, and Polkadot ETFs.

Nonetheless, the securities watchdog has yet to approve any altcoin ETF other than Ethereum’s. Notably, the agency has only sanctioned two crypto spot ETFs: the Bitcoin and Ether spot exchange-traded funds.

Dogecoin Is Kicking Off Huge Breakout to $1, Analyst Says

Crypto analyst Henry predicts Dogecoin (DOGE) could see a “huge breakout” to $1, citing a recent chart pattern breakout.

Despite continued market uncertainty, Dogecoin (DOGE), the leading meme coin by market capitalization, has shown flashes of strength this week.

Amid this price action, analysts are beginning to call for higher prices. According to well-followed crypto analyst Henry, DOGE could be gearing up for a “huge breakout.”

Dogecoin (DOGE) Ready for a Breakout to $1?

In a recent post on X, Henry shared a chart highlighting that the meme coin had broken out of a triangle flag pattern on the daily candle chart, a pattern it had been locked in since December 2024, moving to the upside.

According to the analyst, this breakout could set the meme coin up for a surge to the $0.50 mark. Meanwhile, the analyst expects a fresh all-time high of $1 if the asset can hold above the top of the pattern.

At the time of writing, DOGE appears to be retesting this pattern, trading at around $0.1820, down over 6% in the past 24 hours.

Interestingly, Henry notes that the meme coin showed similar price action in September 2024, breaking out of an extended correction that began in March 2024. This breakout preceded a more than 400% surge in its price to $0.4846.

Meanwhile, Henry is not the only analyst to suggest that DOGE could be gearing up for a run to $1 in the past few days.

“Trader Tardigrade” recently reached the same conclusion, citing a similar analysis combined with the moving average convergence divergence. For context, a surge to $1 at current prices represents a 450% upside price potential for DOGE.

SUI Price Trend Ends 6-Day Green Streak: Is $2 Retest Next?

Will the price of SUI retest the $2 mark as buyers fail to surpass the 50-day EMA line?

As Bitcoin drops 2.37% today, altcoins are experiencing an intense pullback. The SUI token has recorded an intraday pullback of 6.61% and is currently trading at $2.5938.

This undermines yesterday’s recovery of 6.11% and raises concerns of a potential breakdown below the $2.5 psychological support. Could this lead to another retest of the $2 mark?

SUI Wedge Breakout Rally Hits a Hiccup

On the daily chart, the SUI price action showed a bullish breakout from a falling wedge pattern. This marked a quick turnaround from the $2 support level, resulting in a 33% price recovery over 16 days.

SUI Price Chart
SUI Price Chart

However, the bullish recovery struggled to overcome the dynamic resistance of the 50-day exponential moving average (EMA), leading to an intraday pullback of 6.11% and forming a bearish engulfing candle.

This ends the streak of six consecutive bullish candles on the daily chart. Due to the prevailing bearish trend within the falling wedge pattern, the 50-day and 200-day EMA lines have formed a death cross. Additionally, the bearish influence warns of a potential negative crossover between the 100-day and 200-day EMA lines.

However, the short-term breakout rally has resulted in a positive crossover in the MACD and signal lines. As a result, the technical indicators show a diverging outlook, signaling increased uncertainty in the SUI price trend.

Analysts Remain Optimistic, Target $2.88

Despite the minor intraday pullback, crypto analyst Javon Marks highlights the possibility of a bullish comeback for SUI. Marks points to a hidden bullish divergence in the SUI price trend on the two-day timeframe.

While the SUI price trend maintains a higher-high formation, the two-day RSI line has remained stagnant at similar levels, indicating potential for a new bullish wave. According to the analyst, there is a strong possibility of a bullish reversal.

Furthermore, analyst Ali Martinez anticipates a continuation of the bullish trend on the weekly timeframe. Martinez highlights the next critical price targets for SUI at $2.88 and $3.25, derived from Fibonacci levels on the weekly chart. The analyst also notes a 25% surge following a timely buy signal from the TD Sequential Indicator.

Over $14B in Bitcoin and Ethereum Options Expire Today: Details

0

Massive quarterly options expiries are set to rock the Bitcoin and Ethereum market.

Despite starting the week well, Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are back in the red. While one likely reason for this is uncertainty sparked by new tariffs from President Donald Trump, another could be the massive options expiring today, Friday, March 28.

Bitcoin Quarterly Expiry

Today, over $14 billion worth of Bitcoin and Ethereum options are set to expire, according to data from options trading service firm Greeks.live.

This includes 139,000 BTC options worth $12.1 billion and 301,000 ETH options worth $2.13 billion with put-call ratios of 0.49 and 0.39, respectively, and max pain points of $85,000 and $2,400, respectively.

The sheer size of this week’s expiry comes as this is the quarterly delivery week when quarterly options expire.

Typically, price tends to move to the max pain point towards options expiry as market makers try to maximize profit, which could provide another factor explaining Bitcoin’s 3% drop on the day and why it is hovering over the $85,000 price point.

While this rule of thumb with max pain points suggests that Ethereum should surge to $2,400, the decline in Bitcoin’s price, coupled with broader market sentiment, could present a challenge. At the time of writing, Ethereum is trading 6% lower at around $1,900.

No Reprieve in Sight?

Looking ahead, Greeks.live noted that selling is becoming more widespread in the market as crypto assets continue to lack fresh catalysts that could mark the end of the Q1 correction. As a result, the platform warned that buyers may face a tough time in Q2.

US SEC Officially Ends Cases with Kraken, Cumberland, and Consensys

0

The US SEC has continued its newfound course of rectifying its approach toward the digital assets industry after dropping lawsuits against multiple crypto firms.

On Thursday, the US Securities and Exchange Commission filed a joint stipulation to dismiss fresh cases against three major crypto firms. The top regulator disclosed that it is dropping its litigation against Kraken, Cumberland, and Consensys.

The joint stipulation shows an agreement between the SEC and the firms to dismiss the case with prejudice, marking the end of the legal proceedings. This also comes without any settlements or fees, with the defendant and the commission independently bearing legal costs.

SEC Intensifies Efforts for Clarity

Meanwhile, the Thursday lawsuit dismissal trails several other litigations the SEC has dropped lately amid its pursuit for clarity under US President Donald Trump. The regulator has officially ended its case against Coinbase, and dropped investigations into OpenSea, Robinhood, and Uniswap, among others.

Under acting chairperson Mark T. Uyeda, the commission stressed the irrelevance of these litigations, which former boss Gary Gensler mostly filed. The agency stated it has created a crypto task force to create a regulatory framework for digital assets; hence, it finds the dismissal appropriate.

Nonetheless, the US SEC emphasized that its dismissal of the case does not in any way reflect its stance on any of the lawsuits. However, it is part of its resolution to pursue a more pragmatic approach in handling the nascent industry.

Furthermore, it follows a broader adoption of cryptocurrency in the United States. President Trump has vowed to make America the world capital of digital assets and AI, promising to dismantle the former administration’s regulatory war against the industry.

Lawsuit Politically Motivated: Kraken

Notably, the dismissal drew comments from involved crypto firms, who expressed satisfaction over the latest SEC efforts. Prominent crypto exchange Kraken noted that the move was pivotal for the firm and the broader crypto industry.

However, it branded the lawsuit a “wasteful, politically motivated campaign” by the former administration against the industry. Nonetheless, Kraken appreciated the new administration and the White House’s forward-thinking approach toward digital assets.

Cumberland also used a tone similar to Kraken, adding that it would continue collaborating with the regulator to ensure compliance.

Analyst Predicts 4,259% Dogecoin Rally to $8 as Macro Chart Shows “Doge Circle” Compliance

0

Dogecoin could see more upsides, as recent analysis from Trader Tardigrade identifies its close conformity with a “Doge Circle” chart structure.

Trader Tardigrade highlighted that Dogecoin has strictly followed this bullish price action in the previous cycles and expects a similar practice soon. If this comes to fruition, DOGE could finally breach the $1 valuation to new price levels.

Notably, the meme coin would have to sustainably retain bullish traction for this run. Dogecoin recently rebounded extensively, surging over 14% to around $0.2061 on March 26. However, the asset has stalled, retracing 12% from the weekly high after facing rejection from a key resistance at $0.21.

Doge Circle Suggests New Highs

In a March 27 analysis, Trader Tardigrade stated that Dogecoin’s macro chart has followed a circular structure, which he branded the “Doge Circle.” Notably, the shape is perfectly fitted on previous cycles, dictating major supports and peaks for the 2017 and 2021 bull runs.

The market watcher highlighted that Dogecoin has rebounded extensively whenever it touched the circle’s lower circumference, which has been a crucial support. This bullish action dates back to early 2015, when DOGE rebounded at around $0.0001, and in April 2017, when the asset surged from $0.0004 to $0.0041 in the first cycle.

In the second cycle, DOGE bounced at $0.0012 in March and $0.0024 in November 2020 after touching the circle’s lower perimeter, pumping to the token’s current all-time high of $0.7488. Most recently, the asset’s November 2024 rally to $0.4846 stemmed from the same support, and the analyst expects similar price action soon.

Doge Circle/Trader Tardigrade

Meanwhile, the meme coin hit the Doge Circle’s support with its recent dump to $0.1432. Although Dogecoin has recovered 26% from the low, Trader Tardigrade expects a far higher rally. Specifically, his chart shows a potential 4,259% rally to $8, a new all-time high for DOGE.

Other Bullish Dogecoin Outlook

Notably, Trader Tardigrade’s analysis is one of the several bullish outlooks for the largest meme coin by market cap. For instance, market watcher Kamran Asghar predicted an over 2,852% surge to $6, citing historical price performance.

Moreover, top analyst Javon Marks asserted that Dogecoin is prepping for a massive rally to unprecedented highs, citing the asset’s strong backing and purpose. Specifically, he projected an over 12x surge to $2.28.

In the meantime, DOGE trades at $0.1822, down 5% in the past 24 hours.

XRP Price Glitch Pushes Value to $21,000 on Live TV

0

Another XRP price glitch has surfaced, this time on live American TV, with the value of the altcoin suddenly soaring to tens of thousands.

XRP has been the subject of multiple price glitches over the past few years, but this trend seemed to have paused in Q4 2024 and Q1 2025. Interestingly, a recent re-occurrence has taken the XRP community by storm, especially considering the rate of change and the potential audience reach.

This week, amid the market recovery that began on Sunday, cable news channel Real America’s Voice presented an outlook on the cryptocurrency market during the American Sunrise Early Edition hosted by Jake Novak.

XRP Price Soars to $21K

However, the market data in the presentation showed some interesting variations from real values. Notable among these variations was the fact that XRP soared to a price of $21,355 in an apparent glitch. This figure represented a 961,936% increase from the altcoin’s actual value of $2.22 at the time.

This XRP price glitch persisted throughout the episode’s market outlook, with the price of the asset fluctuating between $2.22 and $21,355 on the window. Several XRP community members have called attention to this incident, which represents one of multiple XRP price glitch instances over the years.

Interestingly, the latest glitch appears to have been a general issue, not unique to XRP. Data shows that Bitcoin (BTC) also observed a drastic price variation, with its value dropping to $43,636 during the market outlook. This was a massive 49% drop from its real-world price of $86,246 at the time of the presentation.

Notably, Novak confirmed that the “graph had gone a little funky,” highlighting a technical issue with the market outlook presentation. However, the political analyst only spotlighted Bitcoin’s price anomaly, ignoring the XRP price glitch and the aberration with other asset prices.

Other Price Glitches
Other Price Glitches

For instance, Ethereum (ETH), which changed hands at $2,345, shot up to about $6,000, marking a 156% increase. Further, Solana (SOL) rose from $139 to $2,896, a more substantial 1,983% surge. Meanwhile, Dogecoin (DOGE) rose 15,900% from $0.22 to $32, and Cardano (ADA) increased 10,198% from $0.67 to 69.

Multiple Cases of XRP Price Glitch

Notably, despite the general effect of the technical issue, the XRP price glitch represented the largest price variation. Some XRP community members have continued to point to glitches such as this as suggesting that XRP price is not where it ought to be.

However, a few skeptics call attention to the fact that other assets have witnessed similar glitches, downplaying these speculations. Pundits like “Mr. Intuitive” have highlighted these claims, arguing that no other asset has experienced as many price glitches as XRP.

Most of these instances of XRP price glitch dominated the market in 2023 and 2024. In March 2023 community members identified an XRP price spike from $0.57 to $74 on a lesser-known exchange Atlantis. Also, XRP surged to $50 on Gemini in August 2023 shortly after the exchange listed the asset.

Cardano Founder Says US Government Could Accumulate ADA to Power Election System

0

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has stirred excitement with a hypothetical scenario where the government could use Cardano to power elections.

Amid President Donald Trump’s growing interest in and influence on crypto, several projects and communities continue to search for ways to align themselves with the administration, and the Cardano (ADA) community is no different.

Over the past 24 hours, a clip showing Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson discussing a U.S. election system built on the Cardano network has left users excited.

Here’s what’s going on.

Using Cardano for US Elections?

In an 18-second clip that has made the rounds on X, Hoskinson speculates about the U.S. government choosing to run elections on Cardano, noting that the government would have to accumulate ADA to pay for the election system, not for speculative interest.

Unsurprisingly, this video has gotten several users excited about such a future despite the lack of evidence that any such plans are in the works.

It is worth noting that Hoskinson’s statements came as he raised concerns about the confusion surrounding the Trump administration’s crypto reserve push on a Thursday, March 27, episode of the Gokhstein Media podcast.

Hoskinson Suggests An Alternative Approach

For context, earlier in the month, Trump fired off a series of posts on Truth Social, stating that the U.S. crypto strategic reserve will include XRP, SOL, and ADA. This sent the markets into frenzied excitement while also sparking concerns that he was choosing winners and losers.

Days later, the president signed an executive order establishing a strategic Bitcoin reserve and a digital asset stockpile from seized assets, noting that the U.S. would only explore means to add to the Bitcoin reserve, not the digital asset stockpile.

This mixed messaging has caused confusion over how the reserve would function, a sentiment that Hoskinson shares.

Hoskinson noted that instead of the current approach, he would have suggested that the government start with Bitcoin and then create an index-scoring model for altcoins. This would have allowed the government to hold different assets for different utilities without concerns that it was choosing winners and losers.

It is within this context that he drew an analogy about the government accumulating ADA for election purposes.

Nonetheless, the Cardano founder appeared optimistic about the current administration overall.

Beyond the crypto reserve situation, he contended that there was a real chance that the U.S. could pass a stablecoin bill in the next three months and a market structure bill by August 2025. He made these claims based on interactions with lawmakers at the recent DC Blockchain Summit

Solana Nears $130 as Bearish Pressure Mounts: Will it Test $117?

The price of Solana is nearing the $130 support level amid network slowdowns and rising fears, suggesting a possible retest of the $117 mark.

As the crypto market experiences $330 million in liquidations over the past 24 hours, Solana faces a surge in supply. Solana‘s market price has dropped by nearly 5% in the past 24 hours and is currently trading at $132.

Amid increasing selling pressure, this decline indicates a failure to extend the bullish breakout rally. Could this result in a pullback to the $117 support level?

Solana Analysis Reveals Potential $117 Retest

On the 4-hour price chart, Solana’s price trend showed a bullish breakout of a falling channel pattern. However, the breakout rally failed to surpass the dynamic resistance of the 200-Exponential Moving Average (EMA) line.

Solana Price Chart
Solana Price Chart

After a bearish reversal from the $145 mark, the SOL price trend has now fallen to $132. The price has dropped by 2.97% in the past 4 hours, breaking below the 50 and 100 EMA lines.

As the price drops below these crucial moving averages, the 4-hour Relative Strength Index (RSI) has plunged to 37.84, reflecting increasing bearish momentum.

Upon closer inspection, the short-term price movement suggests the breakdown of a head-and-shoulders pattern. The pattern’s decline aligns with the $135 support level.

With this bearish pattern breakdown, the ongoing decline suggests a potential retest of the $117 swing low.

Bearish Sentiments Rise in Solana Futures

As bearish momentum gradually increases, Solana’s derivatives market has seen a decrease in open interest. Solana’s open interest has fallen by 3.96% to $4.93 billion.

Solana Derivatives
Solana Derivatives

With the decline in open interest, bullish positions have dropped, alongside liquidations of $9.96 million in the past 24 hours, signaling a reduction in bullish sentiment.

This has caused the long-to-short ratio to drop to 0.9384, while the funding rate has turned negative at -0.0012%. As a result, the derivatives market has seen an increase in bearish sentiment.

Crypto analyst Ali Martinez notes that the short-term price movement is a leverage-driven correction. The analyst anticipates liquidations of $69 million in short liquidations if Solana experiences an upswing to $140.

Network Slowdown Amid Declining SOL Prices

Amid the declining Solana prices, the network’s strength weakens. As per the data from Glassnode, the total transfer volume on the Solana network has sharply dropped to $2.58 billion.

Furthermore, the transaction count is down to 42.70 million. As the Solana network experiences a minor slowdown, the demand for SOL could witness a steeper fall resulting in lower prices.
