Coinbase to Delist These Top Memecoins in New York: What We Know

0

Leading crypto exchange Coinbase is set to delist some top memecoins for New York customers.

On Wednesday, March 12, the exchange disclosed that it would delist FLOKI (FLOKI), Gigachad (GIGA), and Turbo (TURBO) for New York customers on April 14 around 2 pm ET.

According to Coinbase, after a recent review, FLOKI, GIGA, and TURBO no longer met their listing standards.

The exchange does appear to have different listing standards for New York compared to its global business. While it listed FLOKI for trading on the global exchange in November 2024 and GIGA and TURBO in December 2024, it only made the trio available for trading in New York on January 30, 2025.

One reason for this disparity could be New York’s financial regulations, which are widely regarded as more stringent than those of other regions.

Nonetheless, MonkeDAO Lawyer Ariel Givner has suggested that there could be another reason for the recent delistings.

“I’d put a lot of money on this being tied to a pending legal case in NY,” the attorney wrote in response to the move.

The exchange is indeed facing a class action suit in the state, accusing it of selling securities without the required licenses. The case was initially dismissed in February 2023 but has recently been reopened following a successful appeal.

Regardless, the recent delistings are a fresh blow to a crypto sector that has been battered in recent months amid high-profile scandals like Argentine President Javier Milei’s LIBRA token launch. GIGA, for example, is trading at $0.01239, nearly 90% below its all-time high of $0.09630, which it attained in January 2025.

Argentine Lawyer Seeks Interpol Red Notice for LIBRA Token Creator

0

The LIBRA crypto scandal saw a new twist this week, with Argentine lawyer Gregorio Dalbon requesting an Interpol Red Notice for the token’s creator, Haydone Davis.

Attorney Dalbon issued the petition earlier this week to the court, formally seeking an Interpol Red Notice to arrest and extradite Davis from the U.S.

It bears mentioning that Davis’ Delaware-registered company, Kelsier Ventures, created LIBRA in February. Prosecutors identified him as the central figure in the LIBRA token collapse, which left many investors in ruins.

Interpol Red Notice Requested

As the investigation intensified, Attorney Dalbon asked the court to order an Interpol Red Notice that could lead to Davis’ arrest and extradition from the U.S., where he currently resides. Dalbon argued that Davis poses a significant flight risk due to his financial resources. He added that his continued freedom could hinder the ongoing investigation into the collapse of LIBRA.

Notably, the Argentine lawyer contended that Davis is a central figure in the case. According to Dalbon, Davis created and promoted LIBRA to lure unsuspecting victims into purchasing the token.

Given his involvement in the case, Dalbon emphasized that Davis is pivotal to the ongoing investigation. Therefore, he wants an Interpol Red Notice against him to arrest and extradite him.

Davis’ Legal Team Argues Otherwise

Meanwhile, Davis’s legal team insists on his innocence, claiming that his only goal was to ensure that LIBRA succeeds.

For context, an Interpol Red Notice is usually sent to law enforcement agencies across 195 member countries to arrest an individual allegedly guilty of a severe crime like fraud or murder.

The notice does not compel member countries to enforce these arrests. However, countries usually act on Red Notices based on their respective laws.

In September 2022, Interpol issued a red notice for Terra founder Do Kwon following the collapse of the Terra ecosystem. He was arrested in Montenegro in March 2023 and extradited to the United States.

Meanwhile, the request for Davis’ arrest and extradition comes a week after lead prosecutor Eduardo Taiano asked the court to freeze over $100 million worth of digital assets associated with the case.

LIBRA’s collapse has continued to spur multiple controversies, including the indictment of Argentina’s President Javier Milei following his promotion of the token.

Top Analyst Predicts Parabolic Dogecoin Surge as Stoch RSI Eyes Bullish Crossover: Here are Possible Scenarios

0

Prominent market analyst Ali Martinez has predicted that Dogecoin could be up for a scintillating rebound amid a potential bullish crossover on the Stoch RSI.

Dogecoin has recorded two consecutive daily gains for the first time since March 2, rebounding 22% from a low of $0.1427 on Tuesday to a high of $0.1742 yesterday. This rebound mirrors a broader market resurgence following speculations that Donald Trump is open to discussing the tariff war resolution with the Canadian prime minister.

The recent DOGE rebound has seen the meme coin recover earlier losses this week and looks to be forming a dragonfly doji on the timeframe. This price action has also seen its Stochastic (Stoch) relative strength index (RSI) gearing up for a bullish crossover.

Market analyst Ali Martinez highlighted the forming bullish indicator, asserting it could severely impact the prominent meme coin’s price.

Dogecoin On Course for a Strong Rebound

In a Wednesday tweet, Martinez stated that Dogecoin could be set for a parabolic rally, citing a possible Stoch RSI crossover on the weekly timeframe. He emphasized the indicator’s historical implication for the doggy-themed meme token and how it could catalyze a price rebound.

Martinez cited instances where the weekly crossover spurred a parabolic expansion dating back to October 2023. The indicator flipped bullish on the month, with DOGE responding with an 88% from $0.0569 to $0.1075.

Meanwhile, a similar situation occurred in February 2024, with the Stoch RSI bullishly crossing over. Dogecoin surged by 187% from $0.0793 to an intra-month high of $0.2290. A more extensive rally happened in September when the meme coin surged a staggering 444% from $0.0890 to its current bull cycle high of $0.4846.

Interestingly, Martinez identified that DOGE’s weekly Stoch RSI is about to witness another bullish crossover. If this bullish scenario fully materializes, the analyst speculates a strong price upward trajectory.

Remarkably, the last three crossovers have seen the respective percentage upsurge trounce the former. Hence, if the trends repeat, Dogecoin could surge by at least 444%, taking its price past its current all-time high to at least $0.914.

Higher Prices After Rebound

Meanwhile, in the short term, Dogecoin has shown upward momentum after the TD Sequential hinted at a bullish reversal on Tuesday. The bounce from the daily low of $0.1427 saw the asset push above the crucial $0.16 support, which analysis suggests could spur an outburst to $2.

If the current trend continues, DOGE could push for higher prices. According to a commentary, the meme coin alpha could surge to an ambitious $8.5 when the third wave of its Elliott Wave price pattern kicks in.

In the meantime, DOGE trades at $0.1675, with its RSI trending at 39.83, close to the oversold territory.

Sources Confirm SEC Case Against Ripple/XRP to End Soon

0

The multi-year legal tussle between the U.S. SEC and Ripple/XRP could be nearing its highly anticipated conclusion.

Prominent crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett of FOX Business reports that two reliable sources familiar with the case informed her that the lawsuit could be over soon.

This development comes as the SEC continues its campaign to freeze and terminate its legal cases against crypto entities like Coinbase, Binance, Uniswap, and Consensys. While the SEC had paused and dismissed these cases, it has yet to decide on the Ripple lawsuit.

This left many XRP investors wondering what could be the reason behind the delay, even though the Ripple case was among the first the SEC initiated against the crypto industry.

Factor Delaying Imminent Dismissal of Ripple Case

Highlighting the factor stalling a potential dismissal, Terrett, citing two unnamed sources, claimed that Ripple’s legal team is negotiating for more favorable terms regarding the New York federal court ruling issued in August 2024.

In that ruling, Judge Analisa Torres penalized Ripple for violating federal securities laws through its institutional sales of XRP. Specifically, the judge imposed a $125 million fine against the company and a permanent injunction restraining it from future violations.

Ripple’s Argument

According to Terrett, Ripple is arguing that since the SEC is seeking to end its enforcement-heavy approach against previously targeted crypto firms by embracing regulatory clarity, it is unfair for the company to be penalized based on Judge Torres’ August ruling.

She suggested that Ripple believes accepting the verdict implies admitting wrongdoing, even though the current SEC leadership seems unsure about whether any misconduct occurred.

Terrett gave credit to Attorney James Murphy (a.k.a MetaLawMan) for sharing a similar sentiment earlier this month. Murphy characterized Judge Torres’ decision, particularly the injunction and findings of securities law violations, as ‘not so great for Ripple.’

He suggested that these decisions could be challenging for Ripple if it is planning a future securities offering or IPO.

Mixed Reaction Trails Terrett’s Report

As expected, Terrett’s latest report about the Ripple case triggered mixed reactions among XRP community members and legal experts.

Some users noted that the ‘rumor’ about the lawsuit could be an attempt to manipulate XRP’s price. However, the FOX Business reporter dismissed this speculation, noting that she owns no crypto assets.

This stance seeks to prevent people from accusing her of reporting certain crypto-related events for personal gain.

Experts Weigh In

Several crypto experts also reacted to Terrett’s report. Yassin Mobarak, the founder of Dizer Capital, suggested that Ripple does not consider the $125 million fine problematic. He emphasized that Ripple could pay the fine without blinking.

However, he highlighted the injunction as a big deal preventing the parties from agreeing to dismiss the lawsuit. In his view, Ripple is currently negotiating to remove the injunction, which prevents it from selling XRP to institutions.

Only Condition for Early Resolution

Furthermore, Attorney Jeremy Hogan highlighted the only condition that could lead to an imminent resolution in the Ripple lawsuit.

According to the lawyer, the case will only ‘wrap up soon’ if the parties reach a private settlement, contrary to the August verdict, without ratifying the terms of the agreement in court.

He suggested that the SEC might agree not to enforce the court’s injunction order or establish a pathway to register Ripple’s future institutional sales without completely snubbing the verdict.

“This is the only way I can see the case resolving anytime in the next couple of days or weeks,” Attorney Hogan remarked.

Ripple Gets Dubai Financial Services Authority Green Light to Offer Regulated Crypto Payments

0

Ripple has received regulatory approval from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to provide crypto payments and services in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Per a recent press release, this approval makes Ripple the first blockchain-powered payments provider licensed by the DFSA, strengthening its presence in the Middle East.

Regulatory Milestone in the UAE

With the DFSA license, Ripple expands its compliance-focused payment services in the United Arab Emirates. The approval aligns with its broader strategy of securing regulatory backing in key financial hubs worldwide. Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple’s CEO, acknowledged the growing institutional adoption of digital assets and the UAE’s role in fostering a supportive regulatory environment.

Ripple’s presence in the UAE dates back to 2020 ,when it established its regional headquarters in Dubai. Since then, the company has expanded its operations within the DIFC, obtaining approval for XRP usage in 2023. Ripple has also partnered with the DIFC Innovation Hub, supporting blockchain development through its 1 billion XRP Fund Program.

Addressing Cross-Border Payment Challenges

Financial institutions and crypto-native firms in the Middle East continue to seek efficient alternatives to traditional cross-border payments. Ripple’s blockchain technology aims to reduce high fees, long settlement times, and transparency issues associated with conventional banking systems.

A 2024 Ripple survey found that 64% of finance leaders in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region see faster settlements as the primary advantage of blockchain-based payments. Meanwhile, 82% of regional finance leaders expressed confidence in integrating blockchain solutions into their businesses.

With around 20% of Ripple’s global customer base already operating in the Middle East, the DFSA license further strengthens its ability to meet the rising demand for efficient payment solutions. His Excellency Arif Amiri, CEO of the DIFC Authority, acknowledged the significance of Ripple’s regulatory milestone, highlighting its potential to drive blockchain adoption across the region. Amiri adds;

“As the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia’s leading global financial center, DIFC is proud to support forward-thinking companies like Ripple as they shape the future of finance and accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology in the payments industry.”

Stablecoins and Global Expansion

Ripple’s regulatory momentum extends beyond Dubai, with approvals from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the New York Department of Financial Services, and the Central Bank of Ireland. Additionally, the company holds Money Transmitter Licenses across several U.S. states.

The DFSA license also positions Ripple to play a role in stablecoin adoption within the UAE. The company’s RLUSD stablecoin, launched in December, has surpassed $135 million in market capitalization.

XRP Elliott Wave Pattern Could Send XRP to $24–$110 as It Mirrors 2017 Fractal

0

XRP could be on the verge of a major rally, according to analyst EGRAG who juxtaposed the Elliott Wave structure with XRP’s 2017 fractal.

His latest analysis comes as XRP continues to battle the bears at the critical $2 level, suggesting that the asset is actually following a broader five-wave Elliott Wave structure, which typically ends with major price movements.

EGRAG’s assessment indicates that XRP is in the second wave of this structure, a phase that often features volatility and corrections before an explosive third wave emerges.

In his report, EGRAG observed that a cup pattern has formed within an arc, aligning with expectations. He called this the “just do it” structure due to its similarity to the Nike swoosh. Based on this formation, EGRAG expects a breakout that could push XRP toward $13 in the near term.

XRP Currently in Corrective Wave 2

However, the real focus is on the larger Elliott Wave structure, which he believes could send the asset into double-digit and even triple-digit territory.

The analyst explained that Wave 2 typically retraces a portion of Wave 1, with common levels including 50%, 61.8%, 76.4%, or even 85.4% of the initial move. He suggests that XRP is currently confirming its position in this corrective phase.

According to him, as XRP faces bearish pressure in the current Wave 2, a potential double bottom could form before the asset transitions into Wave 3. This upcoming phase is expected to be the most aggressive in the cycle.

Potential Two to Three-Digit Target

For context, Wave 1 previously saw an impressive 733% increase in XRP’s price. Applying the standard Elliott Wave extension rule, EGRAG projects that Wave 3 could extend by 1.618 times the first wave’s gain. This calculation leads to an estimated 1,185% surge, which, if realized, could push XRP’s price to about $22–$24.

Once Wave 3 reaches its peak, a corrective Wave 4 will follow. Typical retracement levels for this phase range between 14.6%, 23.6%, and 38.2% of Wave 3. Using the most aggressive estimate of a 38.2% retracement, the price could dip massively, possibly falling back to around $8.

This decline would represent a 65% drop from the projected Wave 3 peak and would perfectly align with common correction patterns observed in previous market cycles.

Further, EGRAG suggested that Wave 5, the final phase of the Elliott Wave structure, can be estimated using three methods. First, if the price extends between 1.236% and 1.618% of Wave 4’s length, XRP could reach between $32 and $48.

Alternatively, if Wave 5 mirrors Wave 1 in magnitude, the price could range between $60 and $70. Lastly, if it follows a 61.8% extension of the combined movements of Waves 1 and 3, the price could climb as high as $100, a highly speculative target.

Elliott Wave Aligns with XRP 2017 Fractal

Speaking further, EGRAG compared this current Elliott Wave structure to XRP’s price behavior in 2017, when the asset experienced a massive rally. He highlighted similarities between the current market cycle and the one observed during that historic bull run.

Accordingly, if March 2020 marked the start of a new macro cycle, then the alignment between his wave count and the 2017 fractal seems rather close. Notably, he observed that the first wave in the current cycle mirrors the one in the 2017 rally, while Wave 2 in 2017 had a deeper retracement than what the market is seeing now.

He estimated that Wave 3 should reach between $22 and $24, aligning with the fractal, which previously topped out between $17 and $20. A fourth-wave correction would likely bring the price down to around $8, though the 2017 market saw an even steeper decline.

In the worst-case scenario, EGRAG acknowledges that Wave 4 could drop as low as $3.40, though he maintains that an $8 bottom is the more likely outcome. Following the 2017 fractal, the final fifth wave presents three price targets in this cycle: $32 to $48, $60 to $70, and $95 to $110. Meanwhile, XRP currently trades for $2.23, up 3.5% in the past 24 hours.

Pundit Says Stop Thinking About XRP the Wrong Way, Shares Proof XRP is Not Just Another Crypto

0

A pundit within the XRP community recently argued that XRP is more than just another digital asset, presenting what he calls proof of this theory.

As XRP continues to struggle alongside the rest of the market, the pundit behind the community-driven account “All Things XRP” has implored market participants to pay attention to the asset, arguing that it is not just another crypto asset.

He claimed that the token is at the center of a financial revolution, with Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) serving as proof of its real-world use. The argument centers around the inefficiencies of the global payments system and how XRP, through ODL, is fixing these issues.

The Problem with Cross-Border Payments

According to the pundit behind “All Things XRP,” international money transfers are highly inefficient. Transactions can take days to settle, with fees ranging between $25 and $35 per transfer.

Additionally, traditional financial institutions require pre-funded accounts in multiple currencies, which locks up large amounts of capital that could be used elsewhere. These issues make the system slow, costly, and outdated.

In contrast, XRP has set itself up as the key to solving these inefficiencies. The pundit claims that through ODL (now Ripple Payments), banks and financial institutions can process transactions in seconds, removing the need for pre-funded accounts while reducing costs.

XRP as a Financial Utility

Many investors view XRP as just another altcoin. However, the analyst insists that this perception is incorrect. Instead of functioning purely as a speculative asset, he argues that XRP plays a major role in real-world financial transactions.

The claim is that ODL depends on XRP to function, making it a necessary part of the system. However, it is important to note that Ripple has previously clarified that ODL does not always require XRP despite the asset being central to the service.

In past disclosures, the company mentioned that some clients use the service without the token due to regulatory constraints or other factors. While XRP remains an integral part of ODL, these disclosures contradict the assertion that XRP is indispensable to the payment product.

Notably, the main argument supporting XRP’s utility is how ODL processes transactions. Particularly, to facilitate asset movement, a bank or financial institution first exchanges fiat currency, such as USD, for XRP.

This XRP is then rapidly transferred across the XRP Ledger, ensuring near-instant settlement. Once received, the system converts it back into the recipient’s local currency, like MXN or EUR, eliminating the need for traditional banking intermediaries.

ODL Adoption in the Financial Industry

The pundit highlighted the institutions that have used or are using ODL, including MoneyGram, Tranglo, and various banks and fintech companies.

However, while MoneyGram previously utilized ODL for cross-border remittances, the company ended its partnership with Ripple in March 2021. Instead, MoneyGram opted to integrate with Stellar, a competing blockchain payments network.

Despite this, the pundit maintains that ODL adoption continues to grow, with more financial institutions leveraging the technology. Tranglo, for instance, has facilitated payments across Asia, and Ripple has formed partnerships with banks worldwide to expand ODL corridors.

Can ODL Impact XRP Price?

According to the analysis provided by “All Things XRP,” the growth of ODL will likely have a direct impact on XRP’s value. As more financial institutions integrate ODL into their operations, the use of XRP increases.

This rise in usage fuels greater demand, which in turn drives the token’s value higher. While the pundit failed to present any price targets, others have projected rallies to an audacious $10,000 price.

However, some like Panos Mekras insist that ODL will not impact XRP price. Mekras noted this last April, drawing inspiration from a disclosure from Ripple executives, which confirmed that due to its fast payment time, ODL is demand-neutral, neither increasing or decreasing XRP price.

Meanwhile, another community pundit, Mickle, believes this argument is flawed, suggesting that ODL does indeed impact XRP price. This debate has lingered within the XRP community.

Shiba Inu Price Eyes Breakout as Falling Wedge Pattern Signals Bullish Reversal

0

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is currently consolidating within a falling wedge pattern, a technical formation that typically signals a potential bullish reversal.

Its 50-day moving average is acting as a key resistance point above the pattern. A breakout above this level could signal the start of a bullish trend. Meanwhile, a breakdown of the support level may lead to further price declines.

Shiba Inu Price Forms Falling Wedge Pattern, Rally Looming?

According to analyst “The Crypto Express,” the Shiba Inu price has been forming lower highs and lower lows, creating a falling wedge pattern. This pattern is typically seen as a bullish reversal setup. The price is currently testing the upper trendline, which serves as a key resistance zone.

The immediate resistance level is around $0.00001280 to $0.00001300. If SHIB breaks above this zone successfully, it could trigger an upward move. However, the 200-day exponential moving average (200 EMA) remains an obstacle. A close above this moving average could confirm bullish momentum.

On the downside, SHIB price has support around $0.00001150 to $0.00001160. If the Shiba Inu price fails to hold this level, further declines may follow. A breakdown below this support could invalidate the bullish wedge setup and push the price lower.

Will SHIB Price Soar Above $0.00008517?

Another technical pattern observed is the cup-and-handle formation, which is considered a bullish continuation pattern. Analyst CryptooELITES called attention to this formation on X today, noting that Shiba Inu is now at a favorable buying zone.

The analyst projects a 12X price rally for SHIB, highlighting several resistances it must overcome.

A key resistance is $0.00003117, which aligns with the 0.618 Fibonacci retracement level. If SHIB breaks above this point, the next major target could be $0.00008517.

A continuation of the uptrend could lead to further gains, with the 1.272 Fibonacci extension at approximately $0.000183312 suggesting a potential 12X increase from the current price.

SHIB Market Sentiment and Exchange Netflow

Meanwhile, Shiba Inu has experienced increased social media activity in recent days. Recently, SHIB ranked among the top meme-based cryptocurrencies in terms of social mentions, recording a 4,110 increase in mentions today. This rise in online discussions reflects a growing interest in the asset.

Meanwhile, CryptoQuant data shows that SHIB’s exchange reserves have dropped to a four-year low of approximately 94.2 trillion tokens. This suggests that more investors are moving their holdings away from exchanges, reducing immediate selling pressure, a precursor of a bullish breakout.

CryptoQuant: Bitcoin Slump Syncs with S&P Drop, But Historical Data Promises Recovery

0

The recent Bitcoin decline has aligned with a drop for the S&P 500, but CryptoQuant shows that historical data promises imminent recovery.

A recent report from the market analytics platform confirms that Bitcoin’s recent downturn has mirrored the stock market’s struggles.

Bitcoin Trails S&P 500 Decline but Rebound Remains Imminent

According to CryptoQuant, since the start of former President Donald Trump’s second term last November, the S&P 500 has declined by 9%, marking the worst start to a presidency since 2009.

While the previous decline stemmed from the Great Financial Crisis, the CryptoQuant analysis notes that this time, uncertainty is the primary factor driving the market slump.

However, historical data suggests that despite these downturns, the S&P 500 has always recovered over time. Major historical crashes like the Dot-Com Bubble (2000-2002), the Great Financial Crisis (2007-2009), and the COVID-19 Crash (2020) all resulted in massive dips, but the long-term trend has always remained bullish.

The post-2009 bull run, fueled by Federal Reserve policies and technological advancements, saw the S&P 500 reach new highs until early 2022. However, volatility returned with inflation concerns and interest rate hikes.

CryptoQuant stressed that Bitcoin, which has often been viewed as a hedge against traditional financial markets, continues to behave like a risk asset, following the S&P 500’s trajectory. Bloomberg ETF expert Eric Balchunas recently defended the asset as it takes this bearish journey.

Even after the announcement of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR), the asset has failed to maintain bullish momentum. Initial surges in asset prices following the announcement have been erased, showing how market uncertainty still weighs heavily on crypto.

Despite this, the likelihood of a recovery for Bitcoin and the rest of the crypto market is still high, drawing from historical data. This is especially true if BTC continues to trail the S&P 500’s trajectory for when the index witnesses the much-anticipated rebound.

Analysts Confirm Upcoming Recovery

Meanwhile, amid the market struggles, prominent crypto trader Awawat recently compared Bitcoin’s current situation to the mid-cycle correction of 2021.

Notably, during that period, Bitcoin dropped from $59,000 to around $30,000 before rebounding to an all-time high in November of the same year. He noted that BTC has now fallen from its previous high range and will require time to rebuild its market structure.

Awawat also pointed out that while traders in 2021 were closely watching the moves of a major whale on Bitfinex, today’s market participants are keeping an eye on aggressive leveraged traders on platforms like Hyperliquid.

He believes that both overly bullish and bearish targets will likely be inaccurate, and instead, Bitcoin will experience volatile sideways price action before any clear trend emerges.

Similarly, Altcoin Sherpa expressed hope that Bitcoin has already hit its relative bottom, similar to the situation in May 2021.

Bitcoin 1D Chart Altcoin Sherpa

However, he cautioned that the overall market structure does not look particularly strong on higher timeframes, indicating that Bitcoin may need more time before any significant recovery takes place.

Potential Bitcoin Upside Scenarios

Meanwhile, analyst Justin Bennett observed that Bitcoin recently reclaimed the $81,500 level and successfully retested it. Currently, BTC trades for $81,307, having faced resistance at the $84,437 mark following an earlier rebound.

Bennett attributed the bounce to the latest U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, which showed inflation coming in lower than expected after January’s hotter-than-anticipated numbers. This has provided some relief to risk assets, including Bitcoin.

Bennett outlined potential bullish targets, suggesting that Bitcoin could rally to $88,000 and possibly even $92,000. However, he cautioned that if the price reaches those levels, traders should turn their attention back to February’s breakdown, which remains a major resistance area.

Rumble Adds 188 Bitcoin to Corporate Treasury, Fulfilling $20 Million BTC Strategy

Popular video-sharing platform Rumble has announced a multimillion-dollar Bitcoin acquisition amid its ongoing expansion into the crypto sector.

In a press statement today, the company confirmed it had added 188 BTC to its corporate treasury. Notably, it acquired these tokens at an average price of $91,000 per BTC, amounting to a $17.1 million investment.

With the prevailing price of Bitcoin at $82,000 at press time, it suggests Rumble orchestrated the acquisition several days ago, before today’s announcement.

This move aligns with the company’s previously disclosed plan from November 2024 to allocate up to $20 million in Bitcoin. At the time, the company revealed its strategy to allocate excess cash reserves into BTC.

With today’s announcement, the firm is following through on its pledge to integrate crypto into its business model.

Strategic Hedge Against Inflation

Rumble views Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation, particularly given its adoption by institutions and the crypto-friendly U.S. presidential administration.

In the press statement, Rumble’s CEO, Chris Pavlovski, expressed excitement about the purchase, highlighting BTC’s potential to hedge against inflation.

“These Bitcoin holdings can serve as a practical hedge against inflation. It will be safe from dilution like overprinted fiat currencies,” Pavlovski stated.

As part of its broader strategy, the company aims to incorporate Bitcoin further into its corporate structure and build stronger ties with the crypto community.

Future Bitcoin Purchases Contingent on Market Conditions

While the company has reached its initial Bitcoin investment target, Rumble stated that future purchases will be contingent on market conditions, the price of Bitcoin, and the company’s cash flow needs.

The firm also noted that its Bitcoin allocation strategy could be suspended, discontinued, or modified at any time based on these factors.

Rumble’s move into crypto follows a notable investment from stablecoin issuer Tether. Last year, Tether took a $775 million stake in the company, purchasing over 103 million shares of Rumble. The deal boosted its stock by 76%.

Shortly after, Rumble CEO Pavlovski suggested introducing a Bitcoin and USDT tipping feature for creators on the platform.
