Here’s Dogecoin Price if DOGE Reaches the Peak Market Cap of Elon Musk’s X (Twitter)

0

Dogecoin price will need to increase by a small margin for the meme coin to reach the peak market cap of Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter).

The ongoing crypto market volatility has dealt a blow to Dogecoin price, negatively impacting its market cap over the past few weeks. For instance, after soaring 15.76% on Sunday, March 2, on the back of President Donald Trump’s crypto reserve announcement, DOGE slumped by a more substantial 16.79% the next day.

Dogecoin Market Cap Decline

During the weekend rally, the meme coin was able to recover the $0.24 price mark. However, following the recent pullback, it has dipped below $0.20. The impact on its market cap was severe, with valuation collapsing from a $35.89 billion peak on Sunday to the current value of $28.4 billion, a loss of $7.49 billion.

Notably, for several months now, the meme coin has been subjected to the whims of the broader market amid a lack of unique price drivers. One such unique price driver has often been public mentions from Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk, who has taken a personal liking for the meme coin.

However, despite Dogecoin’s current price struggles, optimism among market analysts has not waned. For one, KALEO, a notable market commentator, recently charged investors not to fade DOGE at its current position, citing historical upsurges. Last month, CryptoELITES projected a run to $5, suggesting Dogecoin price correction was coming to an end.

Dogecoin Price if It Reaches Twitter’s Peak Market Cap

Amid these bullish projections, The Crypto Basic recently assessed how much Dogecoin price would need to grow for the meme coin to reach the peak market valuation of Elon Musk’s X at the time it was still known as Twitter.

For context, Twitter went public under the ticker TWTR in November 2013. However, after Musk’s takeover in October 2022, the billionaire took the company private amid a myriad of changes. With this move, the firm’s valuation is now out of public knowledge. Musk’s buyout valued the company at $44 billion, but this was not its peak market valuation.

Notably, market data confirms that Twitter reached a peak valuation of $73.22 in April 2021. With 765.65 million shares outstanding, this translated to a market cap of $56.03 billion. If Dogecoin attains this market cap, its price would skyrocket but not at an explosive margin.

To put things into perspective, Dogecoin has a circulating supply of 148.28 billion tokens and is inflationary. Considering this current data, at a market cap of $56.03 billion, Dogecoin price would rise to $0.3778, marking a 96% increase from the current price of $0.1923.

Interestingly, Dogecoin had already witnessed market caps much larger than Twitter’s $56 billion peak valuation. For instance, in December 2024, amid the Donald Trump-led market-wide rally, DOGE’s market cap soared to $71.27 billion, aligning with a Dogecoin price of $0.4843.

Ronaldinho Meme Coin Developers Renounce Contract Ownership After Public Outcry on Burn Feature

Developers of the Ronaldinho-themed meme coin have renounced ownership of the token following public outcry around token burn feature.

For context, football legend Ronaldinho Gaúcho recently entered the crypto space with the launch of his memecoin, STAR10.

Promoted as his only official token, Ronaldinho described it as a celebration of passion and greatness. The project features a total supply of 1 billion tokens, granting holders access to exclusive challenges, rewards, and events linked to the football icon.

Meanwhile, shortly after the launch, security firm GoPlus Security flagged a major vulnerability in the token’s smart contract. The contract initially allowed the owner to burn any holder’s tokens at will, raising serious concerns about centralized control.

To address this concern, the security firm urged the STAR10 team to renounce ownership to protect investor assets.

Developers Respond to Community Pressure

Following widespread criticism, the STAR10 development team took action by renouncing ownership of the smart contract. This means they permanently forfeited administrative control, preventing any future alterations such as minting new tokens, burning tokens, or freezing transfers.

GoPlus Security later confirmed the fix in a follow-up tweet: “Ownership renounced, no risk from smart contract level now.”

This move reassured investors that their holdings were no longer at risk of arbitrary burns.

Suspicious Pre-Launch Trading Activity Raises Eyebrows

Despite resolving the security issue, STAR10 faced further scrutiny over pre-launch trading activity. Blockchain data from Lookonchain disclosed that an address of the STAR10 team purchased 122 million tokens just before the public announcement.

The address spent 80 BNB (around $50,000) on these tokens and has already realized a profit of $270K from the trade. At the time of Lookonchain’s disclosure, the wallet still had a balance of 121 million STAR10 coin worth over $33 million.

The massive profit this wallet has accrued, especially following his early entry, has raised concerns about potential insider trading and unfair advantages.

Binance and CZ Distance Themselves from STAR10

Adding to the discussion, Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) publicly clarified that Binance has no business ties with Ronaldinho or his token.

Despite expressing admiration for the footballer, CZ warned users that meme coins remain highly volatile, and trading volumes have declined significantly.

Is STAR10 Another Celebrity Crypto Failure?

Ronaldinho has actively promoted STAR10 on social media, using hype-driven language and urging followers to invest. However, skeptics have drawn comparisons to past celebrity-backed crypto failures.

A commenter on his post shared an image listing failed celebrity-endorsed tokens and NFTs, including projects promoted by Kim Kardashian and Floyd Mayweather, most of which have tanked by around 90%. Given this history, many investors remain cautious about STAR10’s long-term viability.

Bitcoin “Will Do Better Than” $150,000 This Year: Fundstrat’s Tom Lee

Bitcoin price will soar above $150,000 in 2025, according to Fundstrat Global Advisors co-founder and head of research, Tom Lee.

Speaking on CNBC‘s Squawk Box on Monday, March 3, Lee noted that he expects Bitcoin to “do better than $150,000 this year,” citing widening acceptance.

“It’s becoming more widely held. You know, Citadel starts trading it, it starts to have more broad acceptance,” the analyst explained.

The analyst’s recent statements came as he was asked about the asset’s February 2025 woes. For context, the month saw the asset drop nearly 24% from an opening price of around $102,000 to year-to-date (YTD) lows near $78,000.

According to the analyst, the February 2025 downturn was part of a routine cyclical drop in Bitcoin’s price. He further revealed that Fundstrat had been open to the possibility of a drop to $62,000 in the month.

Lee, meanwhile, warned against trying to time the asset’s moves noting “Bitcoin makes all of its gains in 10 days.”

While the Fundstrat analyst did not offer a 2025 Bitcoin price target on Monday, he has previously asserted that the asset could hit $200,000 or $250,000 this year.

Lee is not alone in this prediction; Bitwise and Standard Chartered also maintain the same $200,000 target for 2025.

The long-term confidence in the asset’s prospects is bolstered by President Donald Trump’s support. Over the weekend, he sent the market soaring by reiterating plans to launch a U.S. strategic crypto reserve.

He is also supposed to hold the first-ever White House crypto summit on Friday, March 7.

David Sacks Confirms Selling His Direct Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana Holdings Before Trump Administration

0

White House AI & Crypto Czar David Sacks and his firm Craft Ventures sold their direct crypto holdings before Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

Leading media outlet Financial Times reported the development recently, citing sources familiar with the matter. The source claimed that Sacks and his company liquidated their direct crypto holdings, which include assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

Despite selling his direct crypto holdings, Sacks and his company retained stakes in other crypto-related startups.

According to reports, the first-ever Crypto Czar is preparing for an ethics review that will potentially assess any conflict of interest between his personal crypto investments and his appointment under the Trump administration.

After the review, the source expects Sacks to disclose his crypto holdings and stakes for transparency purposes.

Sacks Confirms Selling His Direct Crypto Holdings

Interestingly, Sacks confirmed the report, noting that he sold all his direct crypto holdings, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, before the commencement of Trump’s administration.

Recall that Sacks made history following his appointment as the first-ever White House AI and Crypto Czar. His appointment sparked a mixed reaction online, with some users suggesting a potential conflict of interest regarding his crypto holdings. It is common knowledge that Sacks had invested in certain cryptos like Solana through Craft Ventures.

Crypto Czar Refutes Claims About His Bitwise ETF Investment

After his statement confirming the Financial Times report, X’s Community Notes suggested that he has large indirect crypto holdings in Bitwise Asset Management.

For context, Bitwise offers exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tied to Bitcoin and Ethereum. The company is also seeking to launch spot ETFs linked to XRP.

In an X post, Sacks refuted the Community Note’s claim, revealing that he liquidated his $74,000 position in Bitwise ETF on January 22. He maintained that he would reveal his crypto holdings after the ethics review.

Meanwhile, the United States is preparing to move forward with the highly anticipated crypto reserve, according to Trump’s post on Truth Social.

The initiative will initially support five cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, and XRP. In a follow-up statement, Sacks promised to share more details about the crypto reserve in the inaugural Crypto Summit slated for March 7.

7+ Years Bitcoin Holders Move Large Amounts of BTC Amid Price Rebound: CryptoQuant

On-chain analysis shows that long-term Bitcoin holders have reawakened and are shifting large amounts of the asset following its rebound from under $90,000.

Bitcoin has rebounded nicely from a short-term price bearish trend. The pioneering cryptocurrency rebounded over 20% from its lows of $78,179 last week to close above $94,000 on Sunday.

While the rebound has pulled the bull cycle back on track, data shows long-term holders might be growing impatient with Bitcoin. A recent analytical exposition shows that funds transfers among holders who bought at least before the last two Bitcoin halvings have surged extensively.

Large Holders Shifting BTC

Maarten Regterschot, a market watcher and CryptoQaunt’s community manager, recently shared intriguing Bitcoin activity among long-term holders. In a tweet today, he noted that there has been considerable movement among old Bitcoin wallets since the asset rebounded from the latest dip.

First, an accompanying chart shows a spike in Bitcoin’s spent output age bands among wallets holding Bitcoin for at least seven years since yesterday. For perspective, the indicator displays the spent output among users within a specific age band, giving insight into the market sentiments of an underlying asset’s short and long-term holders.

The analysis shows that whale wallets between 7 and 10 years old moved nearly 180 BTC immediately after the market rebounded to a high of $96,484 on Sunday. Similar on-chain activities were seen among wallets at least 10 years old, which moved over 120 BTC earlier today.

7+ Years Wallets Move Bitcoin

Furthermore, Regterschot, popularly known by his first name, Maarten, disclosed another hefty Bitcoin shift among wallets between 5 and 7 years. While Bitcoin continues to trend around $93,400 today, addresses in the early-mentioned category have moved 1,453.40 BTC.

5+ Years Wallets Move Bitcoin

These significant shifts hint at possible Bitcoin sales among old wallets. Notably, whales in this category bought the premier asset for at least under $25,000, a staggering profit at its current market price above $90,000.

Bitcoin Still a Bargain at Current Price?

While old Bitcoin wallets have resorted to possible sales, analyst Ali Martinez has suggested that the current price may still be a bargain. In a tweet today, he indicated that now is the best time to buy Bitcoin for maximum gains.

Martinez cited the negative Bitcoin funding rate as a historical indicator of a buy-in. The metric, which tracks the cost of holding a buy or sell perpetual futures contract of Bitcoin in an exchange, is currently under 0, specifically at -0.001.

As a result, the prominent market analyst stated this could be a good opportunity to stack the pioneering cryptocurrency. In the meantime, Bitcoin trades at $91,897, down 2.64% in the past day.

Cardano Founder Reacts as IOHK CTO Lists Critical Cardano Achievements Since 2020

The Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has reacted to a disclosure from IOHK CTO detailing the network’s important achievements since 2020.

Notably, Cardano has marked a remarkable journey since 2020, as emphasized by Romain Pellerin, the Chief Technology Officer at Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK). In a recent statement, Pellerin outlined the blockchain platform’s key milestones over the past five years.

Following this, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson responded with approval, sharing a moment from Star Trek: The Next Generation that shows his confidence in the platform’s trajectory.

Cardano’s Growth Since 2020

In his disclosure, Pellerin highlighted the Shelley upgrade in July 2020, which transitioned Cardano to a proof-of-stake network. This enabled users to stake their ADA tokens and participate in securing the network, enhancing decentralization compared to its earlier federated structure.

Later that year, in December, the Allegra upgrade introduced metadata capabilities, allowing users to attach additional information to transactions. This essentially set the stage for more complex applications on the blockchain.

Meanwhile, in February 2021, the Mary update expanded Cardano’s functionality by enabling native token creation and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Unlike Ethereum, which relies on smart contracts for token issuance, Cardano’s approach made the process better, reducing costs and complexity for developers.

Notably, the momentum continued in September 2021 with the Alonzo upgrade, which brought Plutus v1 smart contracts to the platform. This milestone allowed developers to build dApps, as Cardano looked to compete with platforms like Ethereum.

Vasil, Valentine and Chang

The following year, in September 2022, the Vasil upgrade improved network efficiency through data diffusion pipelining and introduced Plutus v2, enhancing smart contract performance. This upgrade boosted transaction speeds, making the platform more appealing for large-scale use.

Further, in February 2023, the Valentine upgrade strengthened interoperability by integrating support for Bitcoin’s ECDSA and Schnorr signatures, alongside dynamic peer-to-peer networking.

Fast forward to September 2024, the Chang upgrade marked a pivotal moment by implementing decentralized governance and launching Plutus v3. This version added support for BLS signatures, enabling zero-knowledge proof verification, a critical advancement for privacy-focused applications.

In January 2025, Plomin activated all decentralized governance actions, allowing the community to steer Cardano’s future fully. Just a month later, in February 2025, an on-chain constitution solidified this governance framework, embedding rules and principles directly into the blockchain.

The latest on Pellerin’s list is a groundbreaking announcement for this month, March 2025, as Cardano’s native token, ADA, joined the U.S. Crypto Strategic Reserve. This disclosure, which occurred on Sunday, boosted ADA’s price performance, pushing it above $1.

Cardano Founder Responds

In response to the elaborate list, Charles Hoskinson shared a clip from Star Trek: The Next Generation’s “Encounter at Farpoint” episode, where Dr. McCoy advises a crew member to treat the Enterprise respectfully, promising it will always deliver.

Hoskinson’s reply highlighted his view of Cardano as an enduring platform, much like the iconic starship. This analogy ties to Pellerin’s list, suggesting that Cardano’s consistent growth comes from careful stewardship and community trust.

Why March 7 Is Crucial for Bitcoin and the Broader Crypto Market

0

Despite optimism sparked over the weekend, Bitcoin and the broader crypto market may still face significant turbulence in the short term.

After a rough month that saw Bitcoin and most crypto assets touch new year-to-date (YTD) lows, renewed crypto reserve optimism sparked by weekend statements from President Donald Trump has sent prices soaring again, quickly reversing the negative sentiment.

Despite this fresh optimism, the crypto market may still face significant hurdles in the short term and Friday, March 7, perhaps, is the most significant date to watch.

For one, on March 7, the U.S. is set to release key employment data for February 2025, which include the non-farm payroll and unemployment rate, and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell is expected to speak. The data releases and Powell’s speech will likely indicate whether or not near-interest rate cuts are on the table.

Per TRADING ECONOMICS data at the time of writing, the U.S. is expected to have added 153,000 jobs in February 2025, up from 143,000 in January 2025. On the other hand, the unemployment rate is expected to remain unchanged at 4.0%.

Still, on March 7, Trump will host the first-ever White House crypto summit with market participants hoping for concrete outcomes.

These events are likely to significantly impact price action, so the crypto market could experience some wild swings.

Other factors that could impact the market this week include the implementation of Trump’s tariffs on Canada and Mexico on March 4.

While all these point to short-term turbulence, analysts remain significantly optimistic in the long term.

In a Monday, March 3 note to investors, Standard Chartered Head of Digital Asset Research Geoffrey Kendrick asserted that the timing of Trump’s crypto reserve statements points to “a Trump put for crypto” similar to a Fed put for stocks, suggesting that the president appears willing to step in to mitigate significant market downturns.

Kendrick argued that this growing market belief could bolster investor confidence, allowing prices to edge upward. He also stated that it could improve the chances of U.S. states going ahead with their Bitcoin and crypto reserve plans.

“We have moved from selling rallies to buying dips. And hence I re-focus on my $500k BTC target,” the analyst surmised.

He had tipped Bitcoin to hit the $500,000 price point before Trump leaves office, bolstered by improved access and reduced volatility.

Ahead of this week’s uncertainties, Bitcoin continues to hold onto the majority of its weekend gains, trading at $92,600 at the time of writing.

Cardano Hits $1.19 as Whale Demand Soars: Is $1.77 Next?

Cardano (ADA) reclaims the $1 milestone and aims for $1.77 as demand surges following its inclusion in the U.S. Crypto Reserve.

With Donald Trump announcing Cardano as a part of the U.S. Crypto Reserve, ADA’s price skyrocketed 72% overnight. The bull in ADA price reclaimed the $1 psychological mark. As the buying pressure grows, will the bullish rally in Cardano reach a new all-time high?

Cardano Hits $1.19, Buyers Anticipate New Swing High

With the skyrocketing move last night, Cardano undermines the declaring trend since mid-January 2025. The bullish engulfing candle has surpassed the 78.60% Fibonacci level at $0.92. Additionally, the overnight bull run in Cardano reached a 24-hour high of $1.19.

However, short-term exhaustion led to an intraday pullback of 11.62%. With this pullback, Cardano is currently trading at a market value of $1.0020. The bullish overnight recovery has also led to a breakout of the falling wedge pattern mentioned in a previous article.

With the bullish breakout, both the MACD and signal lines have given a positive crossover. Furthermore, the daily RSI line briefly entered the overbought region. These technical indicators suggest the possibility of a continued bullish trend.

The Most Trendy Altcoin Finds Whale Support

With the massive overnight surge, Ali Martinez highlights the growing interest of crypto whales in Cardano. As per his recent tweet, whales have bought nearly 200 million ADA tokens in the past 24 hours.

Additionally, LunarCrush Analytics tweeted that Cardano is making a bullish stride and is currently one of the most talked-about tokens. With the astronomical surge, Cardano is now seeing 8,085 social mentions per hour.

Moreover, the social dominance of the altcoin has surged to 5.65% of all social activity in the crypto space. According to the tweet, Cardano has become the sixth most popular cryptocurrency across social media based on mentions and engagement.

Cardano (ADA) Price Targets Aim $1.77

Based on ADA’s price action analysis, Cardano has struggled to surpass the critical resistance level at $1.22. With the intraday pullback, Cardano is nearing a potential decrease toward the 78.6% Fibonacci level at $0.9216.

Given the strong underlying demand, a post-pullback reversal seems inevitable. The Fibonacci levels suggest an optimistic target of $1.7725, marking the next 52-week high for Cardano. On the flip side, the crucial support level below $0.92 remains at $0.7351.

Here’s How the US Government Could Take Over Ripple’s XRP Escrow for Reserve Purposes

Vet, a prominent XRPL dUNL Validator, has explained how the U.S. government could take control of the XRP tokens in the Ripple escrow.

According to him, this could happen without needing to wait for the typical escrow unlock process. Notably, this revelation comes amid official confirmation from U.S. President Donald Trump that the country would establish a crypto asset reserve with XRP and other tokens.

As XRP enthusiasts celebrate the news, some are speculating on how the government could establish the proposed reserve using the XRP tokens Ripple holds in escrow. Amid this, XRPL Validator Vet suggests a straightforward route for this process to occur.

In a tweet, Vet proposed that Ripple could transfer its escrow ownership to the U.S. government or any other entity via a single transaction. According to him, by setting the regular key of the XRP accounts holding the escrowed funds to the account of the U.S. government, Ripple could effectively grant full control over the escrowed assets.

He emphasized that the process is not complex and could all be completed in a single XRPL transaction.

Ripple Could Give up $105B in XRP Using This Method

Meanwhile, Mayukha Vadari, Senior Software Engineer at RippleX, remarked that this method wouldn’t work for partial transfers. Vadari stressed that it’s an all-or-nothing solution.

This essentially means Ripple would have to transfer the entire 37.7 billion XRP tokens ($105 billion) in escrow, or the method wouldn’t be effective.

Vet replied, confirming Vadari’s point. He noted that each account could only be “transferred” to one address. However, he added that many accounts exist, rather than a single account holding multiple escrows.

Other community members sought clarification on whether such a transaction would be public or occur behind the scenes. Vet responded that because XRP transactions are public, it would be possible to track the hashes of such a transfer if it were to happen.

However, some commentators, including Vet himself, expressed doubts about whether such a transfer would ever occur. The pessimism stems from the enormous value of Ripple’s XRP in escrow—worth over $100 billion.

Some commenters likened the scenario to XRP super whales voluntarily giving up such significant wealth. “It would be a historic philanthropic gesture,” one commenter said. Meanwhile, they also cautioned, saying, “That’s not how people typically behave.”

XRP Price Surge Could Automatically Boost XRPL Meme Coin Values, Ripple CTO Explains

0

Ripple CTO David Schwartz recently shared insights on how many meme coins on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) are directly impacted by XRP’s price fluctuations.

In a post on X, Schwartz explained that the majority of these tokens rely on automated market maker (AMM) liquidity pools that maintain a fixed exchange rate with XRP. This causes their prices to move in tandem with XRP’s dollar value.

Notable examples of XRPL meme coins include “XRP ARMY,” which has achieved a market cap of $26.1 million with a liquidity pool of $2.09 million.

How XRPL Meme Coins Move with XRP

XRPL meme coins frequently see price changes that match XRP’s own price action, in contrast to other ecosystems where meme coins might swing drastically depending on excitement or speculative trade. According to Ripple’s CTO, this is because their liquidity pools are set up inside AMMs that employ XRP at a fixed exchange rate.

For instance, if the price of XRP rises by 5% in US dollars, the meme coin will likewise rise by 5%, provided no other price movement occurs. Because the AMM keeps the XRP-to-memecoin ratio constant, any external changes in XRP are immediately reflected in the valuation of the associated asset, causing this automated adjustment.

Independent Price Action and Profit Taking

Despite this connection, meme coins on XRPL are not totally reliant on the price of XRP. Their value can be affected independently by external news, whale movements, and community buzz.

Even if XRP holders decide to keep their investments, a rise in the meme coin’s price could result in profit-taking. Because of this dynamic, traders who own XRPL meme coins are subject to two major price drivers:

  1. Price changes for XRP: Any increase or decrease in XRP’s dollar value directly impacts the meme coin’s price because its liquidity is tied to an AMM pairing with XRP.
  2. Memecoin-specific factors: Independent events like community hype, whale activity, and market sentiment can drive the memecoin’s price up or down, regardless of XRP’s movements.

What This Means for Traders

Investors in meme coins based on XRPL should be aware that they have built-in exposure to XRP in their holdings. Meme coins might profit if XRP rises, but the same coins might automatically see price reductions if XRP falls. However, this pattern can quickly diverge due to memecoin-specific events.

Knowing how these assets interact is essential for traders trying to maximize their strategy. Others may use this association as a chance to forecast memecoin price swings based on more general XRP patterns, while others may see it as a risk.
