Czech Finance Minister Opposes Bitcoin for Reserves Citing High Volatility

0

Czech Finance Minister Zbynek Stanjura voiced concerns over a proposal to evaluate Bitcoin as a potential asset for the country’s foreign currency reserves.

His remarks followed a statement by Czech National Bank (CNB) Governor Ales Michl, who suggested that the bank could analyze Bitcoin’s role in its investment strategy. Stanjura emphasized the importance of stability in central bank holdings, citing Bitcoin’s volatility as a major risk.

Czech Finance Minister Warns Against Bitcoin

Stanjura acknowledged the CNB’s independence in making monetary decisions but maintained that the government must highlight potential risks. He stated that Bitcoin’s price fluctuations make it an unsuitable candidate for reserve holdings.

The finance minister stressed that the central bank should symbolize stability, whereas Bitcoin’s market behavior suggests otherwise. His remarks underlined skepticism toward including digital assets in foreign reserves.

The minister’s cautionary stance came a day after the central bank governor revealed plans to assess Bitcoin’s investment potential. The CNB’s board has yet to reach a decision, but the matter is under review. While no immediate actions are expected, the bank will conduct an in-depth analysis before considering any investment.

Governor Michl Proposes Bitcoin Assessment

Governor Michl previously stated that diversifying the country’s reserves remains a priority. The strategy includes increasing holdings in gold and U.S. stocks to enhance profitability. He argued that Bitcoin’s low correlation with bond prices makes it an asset worth considering. However, he later clarified that the evaluation remains in its early stages, with no final decisions in place.

The governor acknowledged Bitcoin’s volatility but suggested that its price behavior could still be relevant for portfolio diversification. He confirmed that the CNB board would assess Bitcoin’s merits through detailed research.

While the Financial Times reported that Bitcoin could eventually represent up to 5% of the reserves, Michl later indicated that the discussion remains in the analytical phase.

Notably, the country’s foreign reserves stood at approximately $146 billion at the end of December. This ranks among the most significant reserves globally relative to the economy’s size. The ongoing debate over Bitcoin’s inclusion follows a broader trend of central banks exploring alternative assets.

Dogecoin Breakout: Can $0.33 Hold for a Rally to $0.4155?

On the brink of a new bull run, Dogecoin is targeting a trendline breakout for a 25% rally to $0.4155.

With the crypto market gearing up for a 2025 bull run, meme coins are making a comeback. The market cap of meme coins has reached $93.24 billion after a brief visit to the $87 billion level.

Currently trading at $0.3312, Dogecoin is in a prime position for a breakout opportunity, with its market cap at $48.91 billion.

Traders Stay Cautious as Dogecoin Open Interest Nears $4B

As Dogecoin stands at the edge of a potential breakout, traders are watching closely. The open interest for Dogecoin has seen a modest 0.29% increase, reaching $3.98 billion.

The long-to-short ratio remains near 0.95, indicating a greater number of bearish positions. However, the funding rate of 0.0076% suggests that traders are holding long positions, showing confidence in the potential upside.

Dogecoin Faces Breakout Point, Bulls Eye $0.4155

With a potential recovery at play, Dogecoin is testing a local resistance trendline. Along with the trendline, Dogecoin also puts pressure over the 38.20% Fibonacci level near the $0.33 mark.

Dogecoin Price Chart

The growing underlying support hints at a potential breakout as it bounces off from the 23.60% Fibonacci level near the $0.30 psychological zone. However, the 24-hour trading volumes show no notable uptick, holding at $1.94 billion.

Along with stable trading volumes, the accumulation/distribution indicator has surged to $17.59 billion, signaling increased buying activity.

Although the indicator has largely stayed flat, it has risen significantly from $16.9 billion during the January 13 pullback when Dogecoin briefly dropped to $0.30.

DOGE Price Targets

With a significant surge in accumulation, the underlying support for Dogecoin is significantly growing. Hence, a four-hour closing above the local resistance trendline will likely propel Dogecoin to a crucial resistance at the 78.60% Fibonacci level.

Notably, the crucial resistance aligns with the $0.4155 price, highlighting an upside potential of 25% for DOGE. On the flip side, the $0.30 psychological mark remains the crucial support level.

Ethereum Battles at $3,200: Can Buyers Drive it to $4,361?

As the crypto market recovers, Ethereum aims for a breakout rally to cross the $4,000 psychological resistance and kickstart a fresh bull run.

As Bitcoin pushes above the $105,000 resistance, Ethereum is gradually making a comeback. Over the past 24 hours, Ethereum’s price has increased by 1.89%, nearing the crucial $3,200 psychological resistance.

With a market cap of $385 billion, the largest altcoin is on the verge of a breakout rally. Will the broader market’s short-term recovery fuel this ETH price breakout? Let’s find out.

Ethereum ETFs Flow Stay Red Despite Steady Fed Rates

While U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $92 million in inflows, institutional support for Ethereum is struggling to resurface. On January 29, despite the FOMC’s decision to keep federal rates steady, U.S. Ethereum ETFs saw an outflow of $4.82 million.

Grayscale’s mini Ethereum trust and Bitwise both recorded net outflows. Grayscale’s ETHE sold $15.57 million worth of Ethereum, while Bitwise offloaded $4.05 million.

On the other hand, BlackRock and Fidelity bought $9.49 million and $4.49 million worth of Ethereum, respectively. Other Ethereum ETFs reported no significant changes in flow.

ETH Price Analysis Suggests Breakout Chances

Ethereum’s price action on the 4-hour price chart shows a persistent struggle to gain bullish momentum. Recently, Ethereum’s price dropped to $3,000 for the fourth time in the past 30 days.

However, following a double-bottom reversal and a broader market recovery, Ethereum presents significant upside potential.

With a 2.80% bullish engulfing candle, Ethereum is currently trading at $3,200, forming a Doji candle on the 4-hour chart.

Ethereum Technical Insights and Price Targets

As Ethereum faces crucial psychological resistance, technical indicators signal a potential buying opportunity. The short-term reversal, coupled with the bullish engulfing candle, has pushed Ethereum past the midline of the Bollinger Bands.

With the upper Bollinger Band declining, the short-term reversal points to a potential breakout. Additionally, the True Strength Index (TSI) has shown a positive crossover, supporting the chances of a bullish rally.

The Fibonacci retracement levels highlight a key resistance at $3,271, aligned with the 23.60% Fibonacci level. Therefore, along with the local resistance trendline, Ethereum faces multiple resistance levels.

However, with the broader market recovery, Ethereum could follow a trajectory similar to its 2021 bull run. A breakout above the resistance trendline could propel Ethereum to the $4,071 resistance.

Furthermore, Fibonacci levels suggest upcoming price targets at $4,361 and $4,725. On the downside, the $3,000 psychological mark remains resilient and will likely absorb potential surprise supply waves.

Downside Risk Spikes to 40% as MVRV Declines

Despite the broader market recovery, on-chain data for Ethereum signals a potential correction ahead. In a recent post on X, Ali Martinez pointed out that Ethereum’s MVRV data suggests a possible downside of 40%.

Ethereum’s MVRV has recently dipped below its 160-day moving average. The last time this occurred, Ethereum saw a 40% correction from $3,500 to $2,100.

However, with market conditions shifting, a rebound is possible if institutional support resurfaces and the broader market continues to recover.

Bitcoin Analysis: BTC Eyes $112K Amid Steady Fed Rates

Bitcoin crossed $105K as the FOMC decided to maintain steady rates. Could this be a dovish catalyst to drive BTC price to a new all-time high?

The Federal Open Market Committee’s decision to keep federal rates between 4.25% and 4.5% is acting as a dovish catalyst for the crypto market. The total crypto market cap has increased by 2.87% over the past 24 hours, reaching $3.5 trillion.

Amid the recovering sentiment, Bitcoin surpassed the $105,000 mark, seeing a 3.15% surge over the last 24 hours. With improving conditions, bulls are anticipating a rally similar to the 2021 market.

Institutions Are Back for More Bitcoin

Institutional support for Bitcoin has resurged with the FOMC’s decision to keep rates steady. On January 29, the daily total net inflow into 12 U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs reached $92.09 million.

Notably, this represents a significant recovery compared to the $457 million outflow on January 27.

Bitcoin ETFs
Bitcoin ETFs

Leading the bullish charge on January 29, Grayscale bought $106.23 million worth of Bitcoin. Additionally, Fidelity acquired $18.20 million in Bitcoin.

Among the sellers, Bitwise recorded an outflow of $3.96 million, while BlackRock, typically a major Bitcoin purchaser, offloaded $28.37 million in BTC.

In summary, the resurgence of institutional support, with a $92.09 million net inflow into Bitcoin ETFs on January 29, signals renewed investor confidence.

Speculations Spur as Market Recovers

With the significant market recovery and rising anticipation of a 2021-style bull market, trader speculation is on the rise. Bitcoin’s open interest has increased by 4.43%, reaching $66.18 billion.

Additionally, the long-to-short ratio has shifted, now standing at 1.0092, a notable improvement compared to 0.96 the day before. Further, the funding rates remain steady at 0.0086%.

These key derivatives indicators suggest sustained trader confidence, supporting Bitcoin’s upside potential.

Bitcoin Analysis Targets $107k Resistance

On the 4-hour chart, BTC’s price action shows a strong reversal rally from the 50% Fibonacci level at $98,611. With a quick V-shaped reversal, the uptrend continues, crossing above the $105,000 mark.

Currently, Bitcoin is trading at $105,427, marking its fourth consecutive bullish candle on the 4-hour chart. The growing bullish influence has led to a positive crossover between the 20 and 50 EMA lines, signaling a return to bullish sentiment.

The RSI line has crossed above the halfway level and is approaching the overbought boundary, indicating rising bullish demand.

BTC Price Targets

Bitcoin is now nearing a crucial supply zone around the $107,000 resistance level. A breakout above this supply zone, between $107,000 and $108,000, could trigger an explosive rally.

The 1.272 and 1.618 Fibonacci levels provide two price targets: $112,000 and $118,666.

Meanwhile, a failure to sustain the ongoing rally could see Bitcoin retrace to the support levels between $103,393 and $100,557.

Cardano Founder Gets Meme Coin Treatment, Gifted 90% of the Supply

0

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has inspired yet another meme coin.

When people think about Cardano, a leading Layer 1 chain renowned for its peer-reviewed research and thoughtful approach to development, the last thing they are likely to think about are meme coins.

Yet this same blockchain hosts significant meme coin activity with several thriving meme coin communities. Popular examples are Snek, Hosky, and NIKE.

Meanwhile, in a recent development, Cardano’s meme coin ecosystem has again jumped into the spotlight with another launch, seeking to generate attention with the name of the network’s founder.

Official Charles Meme Coin

After inspiring the likes of Hosky (inspired by a play on his last name), NIKE (named after his pet pig), and SHARL (a play on his first name), Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has inspired yet another meme coin.

Within the past 24 hours, a Cardano community figure has created a token called Official Charles Meme Coin (CHARLES), no doubt taking a page from the naming convention of recently launched meme coins by President Donald Trump and his wife Melania, with an image of the network’s founder.

Taking things a step further, the token creator sent 90% of the token supply, about 900 billion CHARLES, to Hoskinson to drive attention around the token.

According to TapTools data, the token has surged nearly 2,000,000% since its launch. With just 769 holders, it boasts a $2.96 million market cap. At current prices of $0.000033, Hoskinson’s 90% stake is worth $29.7 million.

The development came after the Cardano founder showcased a wallet he created to explore the new features of Lace’s latest version release.

The memecoin release has unsurprisingly sparked a humorous response from Hoskinson.

“I made a wallet video about Lace, and I woke up with my own memecoin. Lol, never change crypto,” he wrote.

Similar playful responses have also followed from the community. For example, the official Hosky X account commented, “Rug Me Daddy!”

It remains to be seen whether this new Hoskinson-inspired meme coin will be able to claim significant notoriety or become a horror story for speculators.

Trump’s Crypto Czar David Sacks Confirms Bitcoin Reserve Is One of the Things Under Consideration

0

The Trump administration is still evaluating the feasibility of establishing a Bitcoin reserve, according to Crypto Czar David Sacks.

In his latest appearance on FOX Business, Sacks confirmed that an exploratory effort is underway regarding a Bitcoin reserve.

He emphasized that no formal decision has been made yet and declined to provide a specific timeline for when the much-anticipated reserve could materialize. In his words:

“President Trump has asked us to study that issue, it’s one of the things we’re still looking at.”

Recall, on January 24, Sacks expressed support for President Donald Trump’s executive order on crypto during a conversation with Fox Business. Specifically, the order is designed to bring regulatory clarity, establish a formal definition for digital assets, and reinforce the U.S. dollar’s dominance through the adoption of stablecoins.

The initiative also follows a draft executive order by the Bitcoin Policy Institute, which proposed integrating Bitcoin into the U.S. financial system through the Treasury’s Exchange Stabilization Fund.

The proposal outlines Bitcoin’s role as a strategic asset, aiming to position the United States competitively in the global digital economy.

Market Sentiment on Bitcoin Reserve Plans Decline

The potential establishment of a Bitcoin reserve has sparked significant interest in prediction markets. On Polymarket, traders are speculating whether Trump will implement the policy within his first 100 days in office.

The market currently shows a 16% probability of the proposal materializing. This figure marks a steep decline from mid-January, when confidence exceeded 40%. The downturn suggests fading optimism regarding an early move by the administration to establish a Bitcoin reserve.

For context, the presidential group working on Trump’s executive order has 180 days to provide comprehensive advice to the president.

U.S. States Push Forward with Bitcoin Reserve Plans

While federal discussions continue, several U.S. states are actively pursuing their own Bitcoin reserve initiatives. On January 27, Arizona became the first to advance a Bitcoin reserve bill past the committee stage. The Senate Financial Committee approved the measure in a 5-2 vote.

The legislation proposes investing up to 10% of state-held public funds into Bitcoin. The bill defines public funds as assets managed by the state treasury and retirement systems.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma legislators are considering a similar approach. Representative Cody Maynard has introduced a bill advocating for the acquisition of Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset. His proposal suggests that the state treasury allocate up to 10% of its reserve funds to Bitcoin, provided the asset meets a minimum market capitalization of $500 billion.

Wyoming’s Legislative Effort

Likewise, Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis is spearheading a legislative effort to integrate Bitcoin into the state’s financial strategy. Her bill proposes a structured Bitcoin acquisition plan, allowing the purchase of up to 200,000 BTC annually for five years.

The funding mechanism includes revaluing the Federal Reserve’s gold reserves to support the Bitcoin accumulation plan. This initiative underscores Wyoming’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a leader in digital asset policies.

Dogecoin to $42: Analyst Sets Target for Bounce from Crucial Support Zone

0

A notable market analyst has looked past the short-term Dogecoin price correction, sharing an ambitious target following a bounce from a crucial support zone.

While Bitcoin has ranged above the psychological $100,000 level after its January 20 push to a new all-time high, altcoins like Dogecoin have retraced considerably. The doggy-themed meme coin has lost the bullish traction that spurred the wild run in Q4 2024.

For context, Dogecoin surged over 160% in November, continuing the run in early December to a multi-year high of $0.4846. However, the largest meme coin by market cap has capsized over 31% since then, with Donald Trump’s inauguration and the official launch of the Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.) unable to change the trend.

Meanwhile, a recent analysis has shared insight into Dogecoin’s recent price behavior and what lies ahead for the prominent meme coin.

Correction to Major Support in View

In a recent TradingView analysis, market commentator “MyCryptoParadise” highlighted that Dogecoin’s weekly timeframe suggests it is in a correctional phase. The analyst noted that the predominant southward price action aligns with the asset’s retest of a pivotal support for a sustainable long-term bullish uptrend.

An accompanying chart shows that Dogecoin has a history of retesting supports after a break of structure. For context, the asset retested the support around $0.06151 in June 2023 after a breakout to $0.1515 in October 2022.

Dogecoin BOS Retest
Dogecoin BOS Retest

Dogecoin also pulled off a similar feat in August after a break of structure three months before then. The meme coin retested the support around $0.0880 with the correction.

As a result, “MyCryptoParadise” suggested that Dogecoin will retest the areas from which it broke out in November. Dogecoin resumed its bullish outburst from the support at $0.1512 before breaking to the December 8 high, and the analyst asserts that it will retrace to the demand zone before any other sustainable price upswing.

Dogecoin’s Next Target After Retest

Meanwhile, the analyst placed an ambitious target for Dogecoin upon a successful retest. Per the commentary, it will surge over 12,611% to an audacious peak of $42 upon a bounce from the support zone.

Moreover, he did not set a timeline for the lofty target. However, he urged enthusiasts to buy the dip and monitor overall market sentiments for confirmation of a reversal from the support or a continuation of the dip.

Interestingly, “MyCryptoParadise” joins a list of other analysts to place an ambitious target for the meme coin. For perspective, prominent market speculator Ali Martinez predicted that Dogecoin would rise to $23, citing a continuation of its cyclical fractal pattern.

In the meantime, Dogecoin trades at $0.3321, up almost 2% in the past day.

FOX Business Journalist Says Fed Chair’s Bitcoin Comments Subtly Discourage Banks from Serving Crypto Clients

0

Despite Fed Chair Jerome Powell stating that banks can perfectly serve crypto customers, FOX Business journalist Eleanor Terrett claims he is subtly discouraging them.

On Wednesday, Jerome Powell, the Federal Reserve (Fed) chairman, disclosed that U.S. banks can perfectly serve crypto customers. Powell made this known in a statement while speaking at a recent FOMC meeting, where he outlined the Fed’s stance on crypto-related banking.

Fed’s Crypto Focus

In the statement, Powell suggested that the Fed is not primarily concerned about Bitcoin but how banks under its supervision serve customers of the nascent asset. He emphasized that banks can serve crypto customers on the condition that they understand its risks.

Powell indicated that most banks already engage with crypto customers while adhering to the Fed’s risk-management guidelines.

FOX Business Journalist Reacts

In response, FOX Business journalist Eleanor Terrett shared a reaction from a source at a major bank. According to Terrett, the source interpreted Powell’s statement as implying:

“I wouldn’t do it [serve crypto customers], but you [banks] make your own decisions.”

In other words, the source believes Powell’s comment subtly discourages banks from providing financial services to crypto businesses and clients, indicating they can do so at their own risk.

Furthermore, Terrett emphasized that the banker was not convinced by Powell’s statement about banks being able to serve crypto customers. It pointed out that while banks would like to work with crypto clients, regulators have made it increasingly difficult for them to do so.

Powell’s Changing Tone

Meanwhile, Powell’s recent statement reflects a change in tone from his aggressive stance toward crypto. Last month, he referred to Bitcoin as a speculative asset akin to gold. The Fed Chair recognized Bitcoin’s volatility as a significant challenge that limits its ability to compete with the U.S. Dollars.

Despite initially saying he has no plans to ban Bitcoin, he revealed recently that the U.S. apex bank is prohibited from owning the asset under an existing legal framework.

According to him, congressional action is required to change this policy. He made the assertion as part of efforts to distance the Fed from the national Bitcoin reserve initiative as proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, with inflation staying above the 2% target, the Fed decided to pause interest rate cuts to start the year. This move boosted the prices of various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, which soared above $105,000 in the early hours of today.

Notably, Bitcoin is still trading above the $105,000 mark at press time, posting a 3% gain today.

XRP vs Bitcoin Maxis: Forbes Legal Analyst Chimes in

0

The XRP and Bitcoin communities have been at loggerheads in recent weeks, and the feud shows no signs of subsiding anytime soon.

The tension emerged amid ongoing discussions about which crypto assets should feature in the proposed U.S. strategic crypto reserve. Hailey Lennon, a legal analyst for Forbes Crypto, has been at the forefront of the debate, strongly advocating for a Bitcoin-only reserve.

However, this perspective has sparked a backlash from the XRP Army. Notably, Ripple executives are pushing for a more diversified crypto reserve that doesn’t favor just a single asset.

Forbes Legal Analyst’s Push for Bitcoin-only Reserve

Meanwhile, in her commentary, Lennon argued that a strategic reserve should exclude cryptocurrencies that a centralized group or entity promotes and profits from.

Although Lennon didn’t directly mention XRP or Ripple, members of the XRP community took offense at her stance. According to Lennon, the XRP Army felt personally targeted.

“The fact that I haven’t mentioned XRP and you all keep assuming it’s about XRP is actually telling,” she said.

In a follow-up post, Lennon directly addressed her skepticism about including XRP in the U.S. strategic reserve. She remarked that those who love XRP and choose to hold it instead of Bitcoin are free to do so.

However, Lennon emphasized that the stakes regarding a strategic reserve for the United States are much higher. She argued that it’s not just about “I want my coin in there so the price goes up.”

Unsurprisingly, the post further triggered the XRP Army, sparking a wave of negative commentary. Lennon sarcastically summarized the hundreds of comments from what she described as “angry XRP people,” mocking the reactions she had received.

XRP vs. Bitcoin Maxis: Breakdown of the Debate

In response to claims that all Bitcoiners were ignorant and jealous of XRP, she brushed it off, saying, “We’re good. Ok, moving on.”

She also mocked the idea that Ripple was an exemplary U.S. company while Bitcoin supposedly had ties to China. She sarcastically noted that decentralization seemed to be a hard concept for some to grasp.

Furthermore, Lennon addressed views that Ripple had never attacked Bitcoin and that the community was simply mean. She countered this by citing alleged lobbying efforts Ripple had pushed against Bitcoin. However, Ripple has clarified that it actually advocated for Bitcoin, not against it.

Meanwhile, the XRP Army criticized Bitcoiners for not knowing the identity of Satoshi, calling anonymity a scary and potentially dangerous concept.

Lennon sarcastically responded, suggesting that the XRP Army preferred trusting a “well-known company” and CEO who controlled about 50% of the token supply and could potentially manipulate the market at will.

Ripple Ex-Director Reacts

Matt Hamilton, a former developer at Ripple who is a Bitcoin holder himself, expressed his frustration with how prominent figures in the Bitcoin community were using their influence to sow discord and disinformation rather than focusing on growing the entire crypto industry.

“Bitcoin maximalism isn’t the answer,” he wrote.

Wealth Manager Completes Seven-Figure Loan with XRP as Collateral

0

A wealth management firm has completed a seven-figure loan with XRP as collateral, aiming to demonstrate how XRP could act as backing for loans.

Digital Wealth Partners, a notable wealth manager, revealed this feat in a recent post on X. According to them, the transaction shows the growing use of crypto assets in traditional finance, especially XRP, which had witnessed slower DeFi growth compared to rivals like Ethereum.

Faster and More Flexible Lending

Notably, Digital Wealth Partners stated that the loan allows XRP holders to access liquidity without selling their assets. Interestingly, this structure presents an alternative to conventional financing and meets the needs of institutions seeking speed and flexibility.

The firm stressed that blockchain technology played a major role in ensuring that the process is streamlined by removing paperwork delays and bolstering security. According to them, they completed the deal within 72 hours, unlike traditional loans that take weeks to finalize.

They credited smart contracts for the success of the transaction. For context, smart contracts help to automate payment processing, reduce manual intervention, and minimize errors.

According to Digital Wealth Partners, the loan structure lets borrowers retain ownership of their XRP while quickly accessing funds, with flexible terms available for market participants. However, details on these terms remain unclear, as well as specific information on the loan amount.

Meanwhile, the firm noted plans to further bridge digital assets with TradFi. They revealed that they are currently working with partner institutions to expand the lending opportunities. Looking ahead, they expect support for more assets, faster loan approvals, and larger loan amounts.

Potential Issues

However, market participants have pointed to price fluctuations as a potential issue. One commenter asked what would happen if XRP’s value increases.

However, this is a sum-positive event, and in such a case, borrowers may have the option to pay off their loan or borrow additional funds, according to crypto market pundit Max Avery.

On the other hand, if XRP’s value declines, borrowers could receive a margin call. For this event, they may need to add more collateral, make payments to balance the loan, or pay it off entirely.

XRPL Now Making Progress in DeFi

Notably, general DeFi lending has observed remarkable growth despite the XRPL ecosystem lagging in this area. Data from DeFiLlama indicates that Aave leads the charge in this sector, with $21.697 billion in total value locked (TVL) at press time.

With the XRPL making recent progress in DeFi capabilities, such as the launch of AMM functionality last March, the ecosystem could start looking into exploring this area in the near future. For context, the XRPL community discussed an exploration of native staking on the network last year.

Despite their promises, the XRPL does not support smart contracts due to potential risks. However, as part of the progress toward improving its DeFi capabilities, last September, Ripple confirmed plans to introduce programmability to the XRPL through native smart contracts and the use of the EVM sidechain.

In addition, Flare Labs is also looking to introduce its FAssets protocol, which would allow market participants to mint FXRP and use the token with smart contracts.
