US Senator Who Criticized El Salvador’s Bitcoin Adoption Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison for Corruption

0

Bob Menendez, a former U.S. Senator and popular Bitcoin critic, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison over corruption charges.

U.S. District Judge Sidney Stein issued the sentence yesterday after the 71-year-old Democratic Senator was convicted in July 2024.

Menendez Charges and Sentencing

According to a press release from the Department of Justice, Menendez received an 11-year jail term for his involvement in a fraudulent scheme in which he and his wife, Nadine Menendez, accepted bribes from two businessmen he helped: Fred Daibes and Wael Hana.

Notably, they bribed Menendez with gold, cash, and other luxury items in exchange for political favors benefiting Qatar and Egypt. Meanwhile, the judge sentenced Hana and Daibes to eight and seven years in prison for their involvement in the scheme.

The court has yet to sentence Nadine; her corruption trial will take place on March 18. According to the verdict, Menendez abused his position as a Senator to advocate for policies favoring foreign governments, interfere in legal cases, and compel U.S. officials to protect Hana’s Egyptian business monopoly.

Prior to his conviction, the FBI raided his home, recovering fiat currencies worth $480,000, gold bars valued at around $150,000, and a Mercedes-Benz convertible. While prosecutors pushed for a 15-year jail term, his counsel requested eight years. However, the judge sentenced him to 11 years in prison.

A Vocal Bitcoin Critic

Menendez was a senator for 18 years under the Democratic Party but resigned in August 2024 due to his indictment. He was among the U.S. Senators who publicly criticized Bitcoin, referring to it as criminals’ ideal choice.

In 2022, the former U.S. Senator criticized El Salvador for adopting Bitcoin. He argued that the move opens the door to corruption, including money laundering.

El Salvador President Reacts

Amid his criticism of Bitcoin, Menendez’s sentencing elicited reactions within the crypto community. Interestingly, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele reacted to the post with a laughing emoji.

In a follow-up post, the pro-Bitcoin President provided an insight into how the former senator accused El Salvador of using BTC for corruption. He added a quote to his tweet, suggesting that anyone inclined to steal always assumes everyone is a thief.

Elon Musk’s Tesla Posts Quarterly $600M Gain on Bitcoin Holding Amid New Accounting Rule

0

Electric car giant Tesla reported a profit of $600 million on its Bitcoin stash for the fourth quarter of 2024 following the new FASB accounting rule.

Tesla reported that its 9,720 BTC was worth $184 million for four straight quarters before now. However, the Elon Musk-owned firm disclosed in its Wednesday Q4 2024 earnings attestation that the stash’s value at the quarter’s close was $1.08 billion.

The report pattern changed following the new Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) accounting framework, which took effect in January 2025. The regulation mandated public companies holding Bitcoin to match their stash’s valuation to the market price in its quarterly report.

Tesla Boosts Earnings With $600M Bitcoin Gains

Before now, Tesla reported its Bitcoin holding with a carrying value of $184 million, reflecting its lowest recorded value during its ownership. This left behind all gains the corporate firm accrued by keeping the asset.

Leveraging the new FASB rule, Tesla reported quarterly earnings of $600 million from its Bitcoin bag, bringing its net income to $2.3 billion in Q4 2024. Furthermore, the electric car company disclosed that the rule change boosted its earnings per share by 68 cents.

In reality, Tesla realized about $347 million from its Bitcoin holding in the fourth quarter. This is because its 9,720 BTC had a fair value of $729 million, far higher than the $184 million reported.

Meanwhile, Tesla’s substantial Bitcoin earnings came from its early adoption of the pioneering cryptocurrency. The company acquired $1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin in 2021 amid its portfolio diversification strategy.

Although it has sold a considerable portion of it, data from the Bitcoin Treasuries shows that it is the sixth-largest public company holding the asset.

Tesla’s Stock Soars Despite Target Miss

Moreover, Tesla’s added advantage from its Bitcoin holding was insufficient to meet Wall Street’s earnings expectations. For context, the electric vehicle manufacturer recorded revenue of $25.71 billion and earnings per share of 73 cents, below expectations of  $27.76 billion and 76 cents.

Despite the modest 2% increase in earnings quarter over quarter, Tesla’s stock (NASDAQ: TSLA) surged hours after the trading session’s close. According to Google Finance, the stock reached $405.25 after the market closed, up over 4% from its closing price of $389.10.

What’s Next for Cardano after Plomin? Input | Output Offers a Glimpse

0

Primary Cardano development firm Input | Output offers a glimpse at the network’s possible future following the Plomin hard fork with a 2025 roadmap proposal.

In the last 24 hours, the Cardano network achieved a major milestone in its development. The implementation of the Plomin hard fork, which introduced full decentralized governance, effectively completed the network’s foundational development roadmap.

So, what’s next for the long-running Layer 1 chain? The network’s primary developer, Input | Output (IO), has offered a glimpse of what could be possible.

Three Key Pillars

Primary Cardano developer Input | Output has offered a glimpse at the network’s possible future following the Plomin hard fork with a 2025 roadmap proposal.

The proposal introduced in a Wednesday, January 29 blog post suggested three development priorities for the network: scalability, usability and utility, and interoperability and extensibility.

With these focus areas, IO hopes to scale Cardano to support billions of users, allow developers and decentralized applications to flourish, and be the beating heart of a thriving multichain ecosystem that includes Bitcoin.

Scalability

IO sees the Cardano network supporting billions of customers by 2030. However, the firm outlined that getting to this stage requires a multifaceted approach, including its Hydra solution, Layer 2 rollups like Midgard and Gummiworm, and proposed consensus layer updates to unlock parallel transaction processing with Ouroboros Leios and Peras.

As Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently highlighted, Layer 2 chains are already working to integrate Hydra while Ouroboros Leios is being prototyped.

Usability and Utility

Beyond scaling to serve more users, IO has suggested that the Cardano network also prioritize improvements and expansions of developer tools while making the chain more accessible to users.

The firm suggests supporting multiple programming languages. It also pushes for the advancement of identity tools like Hyperledger Identus and the privacy-focused protocol Midnight. Further, it champions the implementation of Babel fees, an idea to simplify transactions by allowing fees to be paid in any token.

Interoperability and Extensibility

IO believes that the Cardano network can become the center of a thriving multichain ecosystem that includes even Bitcoin by extending its capabilities for greater interoperability.

To achieve this, the firm suggests a layered node architecture, a multi-resource consensus, and hybrid DApps leveraging the multi-resource consensus for atomic cross-chain transactions.

The firm also talked up Cardano’s push to become a smart contract layer for Bitcoin through its BitcoinOS partnership. According to IO, in 2025, they will explore merged mining and ways to allow Bitcoin holders to interact with Cardano DeFi and experience private transactions on Midnight.

IO contended that focusing on these areas will be the key to bolstering the widespread adoption of Cardano. Ultimately, however, how the network progresses from here is now up to the community.

CME Group Introduces Financially-Settled Options on Bitcoin Friday Futures

0

CME Group has announced plans to introduce financially settled options on its Bitcoin Friday futures starting February 24, subject to regulatory approval.

These new contracts will be the first of their kind within CME’s crypto product lineup, featuring expiration dates every business day from Monday through Friday. The move aims to provide market participants additional flexibility in managing Bitcoin price exposure and refining their trading strategies.

Newly Introduced Options

With the addition of financially settled options, CME Group expands its existing range of cryptocurrency derivatives. The current offerings include physically settled options on Bitcoin, Micro Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Micro ETH futures. These new contracts are expected to complement the firm’s growing suite of digital asset offerings.

Bitcoin Friday futures have already gained significant traction in the market. Since launch, the product has recorded over 775,000 contracts traded. The average daily volume has reached 9,700 contracts. A notable 44% of trading activity occurs outside U.S. market hours, reflecting global demand for the futures contract.

In CME’s blog, Jason Urban, Global Head of Trading at Galaxy, said:

“As a major liquidity provider in the digital asset derivatives space, we see CME Group’s introduction of options on Bitcoin Friday futures as a timely, important addition to the market.”

Access Through Mini Bitcoin Futures

In August last year, CME Group introduced the mini-Bitcoin futures contract, known as Bitcoin Friday Futures (BFF), to cater to retail investors. These contracts became officially available for trading on September 30 after receiving regulatory clearance. They were designed to lower entry barriers by pricing each contract at a fiftieth of a quarter of one Bitcoin.

Notably, the weekly contracts follow a cash settlement process, referencing the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate New York Variant (BBRNY). The settlement price is determined every Friday at the end of the New York trading session. This process helps mitigate investors’ exposure to potential weekend price swings in the Bitcoin market.

Potential Expansion into XRP and SOL Futures

Meanwhile, recent updates on a beta version of CME Group’s website suggest that the exchange is preparing to introduce futures contracts for Solana (SOL) and XRP. However, these futures contracts are pending regulatory approval.

These futures contracts were scheduled for release on February 10, though CME has yet to confirm the official launch. If approved, these new offerings would align with the broader push for more regulated crypto investment products in the U.S.

Meanwhile, demand for crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) continues to rise, with new filings indicating the potential launch of multiple XRP and SOL ETFs.

Bitcoin Surpasses $105,000 as Jerome Powell and the Fed Decide to Pause Interest Rate Cuts

0

Despite a hawkish outcome from Wednesday’s FOMC meeting, Bitcoin and crypto have remained largely stable, with BTC surging past a crucial level.

As expected, Federal Reserve (Fed) Chair Jerome Powell announced a pause in interest rate cuts on Wednesday as inflation remains above the targeted 2%. He disclosed the agency will maintain the federal fund rate at 4.25% to 4.5%, sparking intense volatility in the equity market.

Bitcoin Plays Contrarian; Here’s What It Means

Following this disclosure, Bitcoin remained largely unperturbed by the somewhat hawkish news. In fact, the pioneering crypto asset gained bullish momentum, surging above $104,000 during Powell’s speech, and now trades at over $105,000 per coin.

Bitcoin Shows Stability per Santiment

However, the US stock market faced downward pressure as investors fled to caution. For context, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite fell 0.5%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 137 points, or 0.3%.

Market intelligence firm Santiment highlighted this contrarian play, tying the decoupling to a maturing cryptocurrency sector. It stated in an X post that this is a good sign that Bitcoin has outpaced its earlier status quo as a “high leveraged tech stock” as branded by skeptics.

Notably, Bitcoin has shown a strong correlation with US interest rates in the past five years, reacting accordingly to the Fed’s tone on inflation. This has led to skepticism about Bitcoin’s widely recognized capabilities as digital gold and a hedge against inflation.

Meanwhile, the changing tides highlight Bitcoin’s recent progress. Furthermore, Santiment noted that Bitcoin’s best-performing years came when it relied minimally on the stock market, insinuating bullish momentum for the premier asset.

Banks Perfectly Able to Service Crypto: Powell

A contributing factor to Bitcoin’s bullish momentum is Powell’s signatory that financial institutions can interact with the crypto industry. During Wednesday’s press conference, the Fed chair stated that banks could service crypto firms if they properly decimate risks.

“Banks are perfectly able to serve crypto customers as long as they can understand and service the risks,” Powell said.

He also touched on the debanking myth, insisting that America’s central bank cannot prevent financial institutions from meddling with crypto clients because of the risks associated with the sector.

Interestingly, Powell’s speech followed his earlier comments that the Fed cannot hold Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset. The chair had also called the asset a digital gold, stating it would compete with the prominent precious metal.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin has surged 2% to $105,167 at the time of writing, with the global crypto market cap rising 2.3% in the past 24 hours to $3.57 trillion.

BitMEX’s Arthur Hayes Says Bull Cycle Is Not Over, Predicts Bitcoin Surge to $250K

0

Arthur Hayes, the former CEO of derivatives crypto exchange BitMEX, believes the bull cycle is not over and has set a $250K price target for Bitcoin.

Hayes made this bold prediction in his latest essay, ‘The Ugly,’ which he characterized as the first of three essays. According to him, the remaining two essays- The Good and The Bad – will shed light on the rise of political meme coins and how the Donald Trump administration might ‘cuck’ U.S. crypto investors in terms of crypto regulatory policy.

Shift in Hayes’ Short-Term Market Sentiment

In his latest essay, the former BitMEX CEO highlighted a shift in his short-term market sentiment. He pointed out that he was extremely bullish for Q1 2025, as detailed in his first essay of the year.

However, Hayes now feels uneasy about his expectations due to recent macro-banking issues and the TRUMP meme coin. The macro-banking issues include the rate of banking credit expansion, central bank balance sheet movements, and the correlation among the prices of Bitcoin, stocks, and the U.S. 10-year treasury.

He drew a parallel between the current market developments and the 2021 crypto crash.

Bull Cycle Isn’t Over

Despite this, Hayes emphasized that the 2024/2025 bull cycle is not over. He predicted a short-term correction for Bitcoin, noting that the premier cryptocurrency will plunge to the $70,000 – $75,000 price range.

A drop to this range represents a dip of 28.57%—33.33% from the current price of $105,000. Despite this anticipated dump, Hayes believes that Bitcoin’s price will soar to $250,000 by year-end, representing a surge of 138.09% from the current price.

Maelstrom Investment Strategy

In anticipation of this dip, Hayes revealed that Maelstrom, a firm managed by his family office, had increased its staked Ethena USDe stablecoin holdings to record levels. At the same time, it has taken profits on several of its investments in ‘shitcoins.’

According to him, this move will provide Maelstrom with sufficient funds to buy the upcoming Bitcoin dip as well as a mega dip on ‘quality shitcoins.’

Other $250,000 Bitcoin Prediction

It is worth mentioning that Hayes’ $250,000 year-end target for Bitcoin aligns with similar predictions issued by Real Vision founder Raoul Pal. The legendary trader set the $250,000 target as the current cycle’s high for Bitcoin.

Similarly, popular market observer Jason William believes Bitcoin will reach a price target of $250,000 this cycle.

Notably, Bitcoin recently rebounded from a massive correction on January 27. At the time, its price crashed below the $100,000 level, plunging to around $97,600.

However, Bitcoin has since recovered from this dip and trades at $105,000. At this price, Bitcoin is up 2.88% over the past day.

XRP Ledger Amendment to Allow Creation of XRP/RLUSD AMM Pool Set to Pass Today

0

The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is on the verge of a major upgrade that will enable the creation of an Automated Market Maker (AMM) pool for Ripple USD (RLUSD).

Notably, the amendment, with code XLS-73d, has already surpassed the required 80% validator consensus and will go live today, Jan. 30, 2025, at 7:37 PM UTC. This development could boost liquidity for XRP and bolster trading opportunities on the XRPL decentralized exchange (DEX).

Why This Amendment Matters

AMMs are important for DeFi as they allow users to trade assets without traditional order books. The XRPL welcomed the AMM functionality last March, allowing market participants to earn from providing liquidity on select pools.

However, RLUSD, the Ripple stablecoin, has been unable to participate in AMM pools because of a specific restriction despite launching last month. The issue is due to the clawback feature, which allows the entity behind a token to retrieve assets in cases involving regulatory concerns, criminal activity, or transactions with sanctioned entities.

The clawback feature went live in February 2024 and currently, XRPL rules prohibit tokens like RLUSD with this feature from being included in AMM pools. This restriction has prevented RLUSD holders from benefiting from automated liquidity provision and trading within the XRPL ecosystem.

To resolve this, the XRPL community introduced amendment XLS-73d, which modifies how clawback-enabled tokens interact with AMM pools. The amendment has gained strong support, with 91.43% of validators voting in favor—well above the 80% threshold necessary for approval.

How the AMMClawback Amendment Works

The new amendment introduces a feature called AMMClawback, which allows token issuers to reclaim assets in AMM pools if the token has the clawback option enabled. This ensures that issuers can maintain compliance with regulatory standards while allowing their tokens to be traded through automated liquidity pools.

Details of the amendment suggest that if a token in an AMM pool is frozen by its issuer, users will no longer be able to deposit the paired asset into that pool. Also, if an issuer does not authorize a wallet to hold a particular token in the pool, this will stop the wallet from depositing the other paired asset.

In addition, while the amendment allows issuers to clawback tokens within AMM pools, they will need to use the AMMClawback feature to retrieve assets instead of the standard Clawback transaction.

Potential Impact on the XRPL Ecosystem

Once the amendment goes live, an XRP/RLUSD AMM pool will be possible, and this could improve liquidity for both assets. Recall that the Ripple CTO David Schwartz previously suggested that the RLUSD stablecoin could benefit XRP by boosting liquidity.

As the amendment takes effect, the XRPL community anticipates growth in DeFi activity. A popular XRPL meme coin account recently highlighted the importance of this development, stating that the amendment will make XRPL the cheapest, fastest, and safest place to trade assets.

Top American Exchange Predicts How Long It Will Take for XRP to Reach $9 and $13 Using Grok AI

0

Grok, the AI chatbot from Elon Musk’s platform X, has joined the growing conversation about the outlook for XRP during this bull season.

Specifically, Grok issued bold price predictions for XRP, suggesting the altcoin could reach all-time highs between $9 and $13. Amid this, pro-XRP American exchange Uphold shared its recent conversation with Grok, where the AI chatbot suggested XRP could trade in the double-digit range this year.

Grok’s Comments on XRP Outlook

Uphold asked Grok to formulate an XRP price prediction for its top in the current cycle, instructing it to use the most accurate analysis methods.

In response, Grok focused on XRP’s outlook by relying on technical analysis, institutional adoption, and market sentiment.

From a technical perspective, Grok pointed out that XRP follows a four-year cycle that aligns with Bitcoin halving. Under this model, it referenced an analysis suggesting a potential $33 price for XRP. A more moderate expectation using the linear regression model suggested a price of $13.70.

Meanwhile, Grok also cited more ambitious outlooks based on market sentiment and events, specifically those surrounding Ripple’s lawsuit and institutional adoption. It highlighted arguments for prices as high as $111 and $165 by the end of this cycle. However, it considered these projections unrealistic.

XRP $9 to $13 Are “Reasonable Expectations,” Cites November Timeline

Interestingly, Grok argued that $9 to $13 are “reasonable expectations” for XRP. It asserted that XRP could reach these levels by November 2025, noting that these price points would likely signal the end of XRP’s bull run.

Notably, achieving $9 from its current price would require a growth of 185%. Meanwhile, reaching $13 would necessitate a more demanding 315% price surge.

However, these surges may seem less daunting when considering that XRP surged 5X in November 2024. Still, it has struggled over the last two months to regain similar momentum.

Notably, at $9, XRP’s market cap would be $518.76 billion, while at $13, it would approach a $1 trillion valuation.

Views of Other Analysts

Numerous other market commentators have argued that a price range similar to the one suggested by Grok is a realistic expectation. For example, analyst Steph cited the tightening of Bollinger Bands on XRP’s 12-hour chart to argue a breakout toward $13.

Meanwhile, some believe XRP could reach $6 in the worst-case scenario, especially if the historical breakout fails.

While anticipation for XRP remains high, the coin continues to trade below its all-time high, which has stood for seven years and counting. Nonetheless, it keeps getting closer with each step in the $3 price range.

Expert Reveals What XRP Prioritized Before Processing Over $434,000,000,000 Each Day

0

Austin King, co-founder of Omni Network (OMNI), recently highlight the strategic alignment XRP has with the ISO 20022 messaging standard.

According to King, Ripple was the first crypto project to prioritize ISO 20022 compliance. He noted that this enabled XRP to process over $434 billion in transactions daily but provided no clarification on the basis for this bold figure.

ISO 20022, XRP, and Ripple

Notably, ISO 20022 is a global messaging standard financial institutions use to enable interoperability across different systems. King highlighted that major financial institutions, including J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank, already use ISO 20022 to process cross-border payments and manage large-scale financial operations.

He further noted that Ripple’s early prioritization of this standard could give it a competitive edge in bridging the gap between traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi).

Moreover, he claimed that while many crypto projects primarily focus on blockchain scalability and technical innovations, Ripple is positioning itself to integrate seamlessly with the traditional financial ecosystem and leverage the ISO 20022 standard.

Notably, experts have argued that Ripple’s involvement with ISO 20022 could lead to greater adoption of XRP in traditional financial systems. However, XRP itself is not directly compliant with ISO 20022.

About 72% of banks on SWIFT plan to migrate to ISO 20022 by 2025. Meanwhile, Ripple joined the ISO 20022 network in 2020, allowing its clients to connect with global financial institutions.

While some believe XRP could benefit from this integration, Ripple’s CTO clarified that XRP is not inherently linked to ISO 20022, as it is merely a cryptocurrency.

However, XRP could see increased use for cross-border payments due to Ripple’s ISO 20022 compliance, especially in ISO 20022-compliant institutions.

Ripple’s RLUSD Potentially Becoming the First ISO 20022-Compliant Stablecoin

Meanwhile, in his commentary, King revealed that Omni Network is actively developing a mechanism to integrate ISO 20022 compliance into Ripple’s new stablecoin, RLUSD.

According to King, if successful, RLUSD would become the first stablecoin to fully adhere to the standard.

Notably, Omni Network has already expanded RLUSD to about $38 billion in DeFi liquidity on devnet. King disclosed plans to enhance its appeal to major financial players.

XRPL Becoming Platform to Tokenize Trillions

Meanwhile, the partnership between Omni Network and Ripple goes beyond stablecoin compliance. King noted that Ripple is in a perfect position to lead the trillion-dollar tokenization of traditional financial assets.

To lead this initiative, he highlighted ongoing efforts to create deeper integration between OMNI and the XRP Ledger. According to him, with Omni’s interoperability, the XRPL could become the central platform banks use to tokenize and manage real-world assets.

He emphasized that through this initiative, Ripple and Omni aim to position XRP at the core of the on-chain economy.

Post-Trump Inauguration Cooldown: Bitcoin Stabilizes Above $100K, XRP Outperforms with 51% Gain

0

As January draws to a close and the euphoria surrounding President Donald Trump’s pro-crypto stance fades, the market has entered a phase of uncertainty.

Crypto market sentiment has taken a hit after a massive price surge leading up to and just after Trump’s swearing-in. This ensuing roadblock has led traders to question what comes next for the digital asset space.

In a recent commentary, Brian Quinlivan, Director of Marketing at Santiment, provided a breakdown of the latest market trends, standout performers, and what to expect in the coming weeks.

Trump’s Crypto Agenda Drives Initial Surge, But Euphoria Fades

Notably, Bitcoin’s price soared to new heights on the back of Trump’s inauguration, hitting an all-time high of $109,300. This rally follows optimism surrounding Trump’s crypto-friendly policies, including plans to establish the U.S. as a blockchain leader and set up a national Bitcoin reserve.

However, as the initial euphoria fades, so too does the momentum. Bitcoin’s price has since retreated to under $98K but currently hovers around $102,600.

Despite this relatively modest dip, the broader crypto community has shown signs of panic. Many traders who entered the market during the euphoric highs are now facing the reality of market fluctuations.

XRP Emerges as a Standout Performer Amid Market Dip

While the majority of the market has experienced losses, one notable exception has been XRP, which boasts a 51% gain over the past 30 days.

Quinlivan attributes XRP’s rise to several factors, including Ripple receiving final approval for its RLUSD stablecoin. This milestone, combined with increasing institutional adoption, has buoyed investor confidence in XRP.

Moreover, Ripple’s streak of strategic partnerships has also boosted XRP’s value. The latest in the line is its collaboration with Ondo Finance to bring tokenized U.S. Treasury securities to the XRP Ledger.

Essentially, XRP’s expanding role in cross-border payments and its growing credibility in the financial sector continue to support its uptrend.

Sentiment Swings and Key Players to Watch

Notably, the social media landscape shows growing anxiety among Bitcoin and Ethereum traders. After dipping below the $100K mark, Bitcoin saw its lowest sentiment of 2025, with negative comments flooding platforms like X, Reddit, and Telegram.

Meanwhile, Ethereum’s underperformance has led to a decline in sentiment, reaching historic lows. Traders are now watching closely for a potential break of the $3K support level.

Enlarged
Graph of Ethereum declining sentiment | Santiment

On the other hand, XRP remains in the positive sentiment camp, at least for now. However, skepticism is creeping in as the asset cools off after the early-month surge that took it to $3.

Meanwhile, Solana experienced a significant drop in sentiment after technical difficulties and a sharp price correction from near $300 just before Trump’s inauguration.

What’s Next for Crypto in February?

Amid this, Quinlivan suggested keeping an eye on institutions like MicroStrategy, which has continued to accumulate Bitcoin at a rapid pace. In January alone, the firm added more than 24,000 BTC to its balance sheet.

Furthermore, Quinlivan noted that the future of crypto remains bright, especially with Trump’s initiatives, which could fuel long-term growth. However, he also pointed out that short-term volatility will likely persist, providing buying opportunities for retail investors who can weather the ups and downs.

“Trade safely. We’ll continue to share further updates and developments as the calendar turns to February,” he concluded.
