The Shiba Inu community has welcomed another development, as the Shibarium beta bridge goes live, allowing the public to test it.

The Shiba Inu development team has attained another mega accomplishment recently announced by a community influencer. This strategic development has triggered another season of euphoria in the teeming community.

With the mainnet takeoff of the Shiba Inu L2 network fast approaching, the development team launched the Shibarium beta bridge for public testing on Thursday. Per the update, ShibArmy members were urged to interact with the cross-chain solution to report any encountered issues or bugs.

As disclosed by marketing specialist Lucie, the revolutionary Shibarium beta bridge is not fully functional at press time. Therefore, the community influencer warned users against using real assets to interact with the protocol. “Please do not use your real assets! Only faucets,” she remarked.

The ecosystem official further advised users to verify the Shibarium beta bridge website before connecting their wallets. This warning arose as several Shiba Inu investors recently lost their assets to a fake Shibarium website, as reported by The Crypto Basic.

Shiba Inu Community Reacts

Members of the Shiba Inu community have warmly welcomed this significant development. Responding to Lucie’s update, some users confirmed using the cross-chain protocol.

In particular, a proponent implied that the Shibarium beta bridge works fine. “Tested successfully earlier,” the pseudonymous Shiba Inu proponent wrote.

Meanwhile, many others expressed anticipation for the mainnet launch of Shibarium, expected to happen in August during the Blockchain Futurist Conference. Community members hope its emergence will bring more developments to the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

Shibarium Beta Bridge Overview

The Shibarium bridge is a cross-chain protocol allowing users to convert assets across networks like Ethereum to the Shibarium network. It also allows for the deposit and withdrawal of assets between different networks.

The bridge deposit process consists of a single transaction. Per the update, the transfer time is lengthy as moving funds from Ethereum to Shibarium takes up to 20 – 30 minutes.

Notably, the Shibarium Bridge does not support delegation and staking. Thus, Shiba Inu investors should not deposit funds in Shibarium for this purpose.

It bears mentioning that the Shibarium beta bridge launch for public testing comes shortly after Shytoshi Kusama said thrilling releases should be expected before the Shibarium mainnet launch.
