Popular Bitcoiner Keyur Rohit says Shiba Inu is no longer a meme coin following the launch of Shibarium Beta Bridge.
Prominent Bitcoiner Keyur Rohit has taken to Twitter to applaud Shibarium Beta Bridge, a cross-chain protocol for Shiba Inu L2 scaling solution.
The Crypto Basic reported earlier that the Bridge allows users to transfer assets across networks like Ethereum to Shibarium. However, each transaction can take up to 20 – 30 minutes.
Shiba Inu Is Not Meme Anymore
In a recent Twitter thread, Rohit noted that the release of Shibarium Beta Bridge signifies that Shiba Inu is no longer a meme coin.
Meme coin is a title given to cryptocurrencies that launched as a result of a joke. Interestingly, Shiba Inu has been trying to shred the meme coin title by launching notable projects.
Notably, Shibarium is one of the projects helping Shiba Inu to shred the meme coin title, and Rohit shares the same sentiment.

Rohit noted that the introduction of Shibarium Beta Bridge places Shiba Inu as one of the major blockchain contenders. Hence, the cryptocurrency is no longer a meme coin, he said.
“Shibarium is a game-changer for #SHIB and the #crypto world. It’s [Shiba Inu is] not just about memes anymore. Faster transactions, lower fees, a bridge to #Ethereum, and potential gaming and metaverse opportunities make it a force to reckon with,” said Rohit.
Rohit Highlights Shibarium Features
He added that Shibarium- the upcoming L2 scaling solution – will offer faster transactions and lower fees, thus attracting more users.

Furthermore, Rohit highlighted several Shibarium features in the thread. He noted that the upcoming L2 blockchain will use four Shiba Inu ecosystem tokens, including SHIB, TREAT, BONE, and LEASH.
Rohit speculated that as demand for these tokens increases, their prices will skyrocket.
He also discussed the importance of Doggy DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization run by Shiba Inu token holders.
He noted that the Doggy DAO would empower community governance and fund Shibarium projects.
Shibarium Mainnet Launch Nears
Meanwhile, the rollout of Shibarium Beta Bridge further confirms that the mainnet launch of the L2 scaling solution is around the corner.
As reported earlier, Shiba Inu’s lead developer Shytoshi Kusama confirmed that the highly-anticipated Shibarium mainnet launch may occur during the Blockchain Futuristic Conference in August.
