Binance Owned Trust Wallet Adds Support for Solana dApps

0

Trust Wallet, one of the most notable decentralized wallets, has added support for Solana decentralized apps (dApps).

The Solana network is expanding, and the recent development will likely bring more exposure to dApps built on the network. Trust Wallet recently announced that it had added support for dApps built on the Solana network. The wallet further revealed a list of dApps included in the initial support phase.

Trust Wallet made the announcement Tuesday on its official community platform. “You can now connect your Trust Wallet to the top Solana dApps straight through your dApp browser on iOS and Android, or by using the Wallet Connect protocol on your desktop,” the announcement notes.

Trust Wallet further disclosed the specific Solana dApps it currently has connection point access to in this initial phase.

The list contains 7 Solana dApps: Radium, Sonar, Marinade Finance, Bonfida, Solend, Mean Finance, and Jupiter. This development will make it possible for users of the supported dApps to connect their accounts to their Trust Wallet.

Launched in 2020, Solana has amassed massive support from the crypto ecosystem due to its promise of faster transactions and low fees. The Solana blockchain seeks to step over the competition by utilizing the Proof-of-History mechanism. The use of PoH enables Solana to verify transactions faster than most competitors.

Notwithstanding, the blockchain has been faced with several outages and congestion issues. As occasional exploits have been noticed, bad players have also targeted the network. A few months ago, Solana was drained over $5M, where 8,000 Sol wallets were affected. Nonetheless, more insight proved that the exploit was, in fact, tied to a third-party app, Slope Wallet.

Solana has received some backlash due to its outages, but the adoption rate has not dropped. This Trust Wallet integration will likely bring the network some more exposure.

COTI Announces New Partnership to Further Boost the Adoption of Cardano Stablecoin Djed.

COTI, the official issuer of Cardano stablecoin Djed, has added yet another partner as part of the growing adoption of the algorithmic stablecoin.

Cardano Warriors is the latest crypto project that has declared interest in Djed and has gone ahead to partner with COTI.

According to an official announcement today, Cardano Warriors will integrate Djed into its platform to bring stability to buying and selling non-fungible tokens (NFTs) based on the Cardano blockchain.

Cardano Warriors players will be allowed to use Djed as an alternative payment to ADA when trading their in-game NFTs.

“The integration of Djed will help to bring a stable way of buying and selling NFTs minted in Cardano Blockchain. Djed will be another alternative rather than ADA for Cardano Warrios’ players to trade their NFTs within the game.”

It is noteworthy that Cardano Warriors is a Massive Multiplayer On-chain Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) that allows players to trade in-game assets.

Cardano Warriors adds to the list of companies that have partnered with COTI to adopt the Cardano algorithmic stablecoin. As reported, COTI has already inked partnerships with top companies, including Iagon and WingRiders, to ensure the proper utilization of Djed across the Cardano ecosystem.

Famous U.S. Lawyer Fears SEC May Classify ETH as a Security After Ethereum Merge

0

Deaton thinks the SEC may go after ETH after the Ethereum Merge upgrade launches.

Attorney John Deaton, the founder of CryptoLaw, recently expressed fears over the possibility that the United States SEC could classify Ethereum (ETH) as security after the Merge upgrade is live.

Deaton asserted in a recent tweet by referring to a comment made by the Chairman of SEC Gary Gensler. The SEC chairman said Bitcoin is the only crypto asset he could comfortably refer to as a non-security. The statement also suggests that Gensler is not willing to categorize ETH as a non-security despite the early comment made by William Hinman in a 2018 speech.

“Based on my understanding of the present state of Ether, the Ethereum network and its decentralized structure, current offers and sales of Ether are not securities transactions,” Hinman said in a 2018 speech that has continued to cause controversies.

Attorney Deaton Fears for Ethereum

Commenting on the recent comment by the SEC Chairman, attorney Deaton said:

“Recently, Gensler said he is ONLY comfortable declaring Bitcoin a commodity. Which literally means he is uncomfortable and unwilling to declare #ETH a commodity and thus a non-security, despite what Bill Hinman said in 2018.”

Deaton said he fears that Gensler will likely claim that the upcoming Ethereum Merge has repackaged ETH to become security. Thus, allowing him to argue that his position that ETH is security is consistent with Hinman’s November 2018 comment.

“Of course, with Gensler doubling the SEC’s staff dedicated to Crypto enforcement, opening new offices dedicated to Crypto, silencing the former SEC Crypto Czar, and now targeting the exchanges, it would be smart to help end the division,” Deaton added.

Crypto Investors Lose Trust in SEC

Deaton’s fear comes following the ongoing lawsuit between Ripple and the Securities and Exchange Commission. The events that have been reported in the lawsuit have planted an unpleasant picture of the SEC in the minds of cryptocurrency enthusiasts, especially supporters of the cryptocurrency project.

The SEC has yet to provide clear regulatory guidelines for the emerging market, with many accusing the commission of preferring regulation by enforcement tactics instead of regulation by rules.

Deaton has been among the top people who have continued to speak out against the SEC’s regulatory approach to the crypto space.

As reported by The Crypto Basic Chamber of Digital Commerce CEO yesterday said SEC’s denial of 16 Bitcoin ETF applications was mostly influenced by a Political Agenda.

Terra Classic Proponents Drive the Attention of Hollywood Star Martin Lawrence to LUNC

0

Terra Classic (LUNC) has caught the attention of Hollywood comedian and actor Martin Lawrence who recently inquired about the asset.

LUNAtics have not relented in their advocacy for Terra tokens, especially LUNA and LUNC. One of the major propellants of this renewed campaign is the recent rally staged by both assets. The campaign has found its way into Hollywood, as actor Martin Fitzgerald Lawrence inquires about the asset.

According to IMDB, “He is known for his roles in the Bad Boys trilogy, Martin, Def Comedy Jam, Big Momma’s House, Open Season, House Party, Boomerang, Wild Hogs, What’s Happening Now!!, Nothing to Lose, Life and Blue Streak.”

The 57-year-old BET award-winning comedian had, on Friday, asked his fans about the digital assets they were investing in. There has been a trend of celebrities getting on cryptocurrencies, and Lawrence’s sudden interest is no shocker.

Amongst the thousands of comments he got, Lawrence’s only reply came to a LUNA proponent’s tweet. The LUNAtic had commented on Lawrence’s tweet with a meme illustrating the purported poor choice of investors who dumped LUNC. “What’s good with $lunc?” Asked Lawrence in his reply.

The reply appeared to be the opportunity several LUNC proponents needed to spread the gospel of the asset. Further comments highlighting the asset’s recent auspicious movements and promising future surfaced. “LUNC is going to be the biggest comeback in crypto history,” one user asserted.

Whether Lawrence will consider investing in the seemingly resurrected asset remains to be seen. Whatever the case is, proponents of LUNC have proven that they will not shy away from an opportunity to campaign for the asset.

LUNC Recent Comeback

Witn the asset’s recent comeback, this campaign has picked up of late. Despite the rejections LUNC has faced on its journey, the asset is still 254% above its value exactly a month ago, having a current value of $0.00035 as of press time.

Terra Classic’s recent rally took the asset to a high of $0.00058 – a price it has not reclaimed since the crash in May. The majority of the Terra ecosystem supported the reawakened LUNC burn proposal, as seen in the poll. An unofficial LUNA account revealed that up to 99% of the votes were in support of the burn as of Monday.

As previously reported, Terraform Labs had indicated official support of the LUNC burn. Additionally, the Terra community is proposing the resurgence of the Inter Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol. There have been calls for Binance to implement the 1.2% LUNC tax burn on its platform.

The Terra community is convinced that these measures can help resurrect the asset. LUNC currently trades at $0.00035 at the time of reporting, down 8.74% in the past 24 hours. Despite this decline, the asset remains the 30th largest cryptocurrency, with a market cap of $2.16B as of press time.

1,329 U.S. Citizens Purchased 2M Ripple In 2 Months Despite Major Exchanges Delisting XRP

The adoption of XRP among U.S. citizens spikes despite the ongoing Ripple lawsuit with SEC.

A leading decentralized exchange, OnXRP, has announced a massive adoption of Ripple (XRP) among United States residents. According to an announcement today by the exchange, a total of 1,329 U.S. citizens have leveraged OnXRP’s fiat on-ramp solution to purchase XRP using their credit card and Apple Pay.

OnXRP stated that 2 million XRP coins were bought through the on-ramp solution that was launched in collaboration with Banxa.

“We just passed 2m bought XRP through our on-ramp solution with Banxa. This totals 1,329 US Citizens that were able to buy with credit card or ApplePay,” OnXRP stated.

OnXRP Comes to U.S. Citizens’ Rescue Amid SEC Lawsuit

The DEX noted that it achieved the feat even though major cryptocurrency exchanges in the U.S., including Coinbase, have delisted the trading of XRP from their platforms.

Recall that the ongoing lawsuit between the Securities and Exchange Commission and Ripple, prominent United States-based cryptocurrency exchanges were prompted to de-list XRP from their trading platforms.

These exchanges took stringent measures to avoid being charged by the SEC for facilitating the trading of XRP, which the SEC deemed a security. The delisting of XRP from the U.S.-exchanges affected the adoption of the cryptocurrency across various parts of the world, especially the United States.

In response to this unfortunate development, OnXRP announced the launch of its fiat on-ramp solution, where U.S. residents can purchase XRP.

The service was available in all U.S. states except New York and Hawaii.

“We present to you our fiat onramp powered by @BanxaOfficial that can be found under “cash” on our dex or directly at: https://dex.onxrp.com/onRamp. Global and U.S. citizens (apart from NY and Hawaii) can buy XRP easily now using Credit card and Apple Pay,” the DEX noted in an announcement.

Commenting on the development at the time, Banxa said everyone, including U.S.-based residents, should have the opportunity to buy XRP.

Meanwhile, the SEC vs. Ripple lawsuit has entered the summary judgment stage, with the parties expected to file motions for summary judgment today.

Terra Wallet ‘Terra Station’ Updates Interface To Include LUNC Burn Rate

Terra Classic community gets ready to implement tax burn.

In a new update, Terra wallet, Terra Station, has included a tax rate feature in support of the 1.2% tax rate burn proposal.

terra station adds LUNC Burn
terra station adds LUNC Burn

When writing, the tax rate is set at 0.00%. Still, it is expected to change to 1.2% in 7 days following the implementation of the 1.2% tax parameter change. It bears mentioning that the implementation date of September 20 has been confirmed following TerraForm Labs (TFL) approval and is less than eight days away.

While the idea of a 1.2% tax rate burn came up in June, the LUNA Classic (LUNC) community started a massive push for the tax rate at the beginning of this month, following a more comprehensive proposal by community member Edward Kim. The tax rate, when implemented, will see users pay a 1.2% tax on all on-chain transactions, with the collected tax sent to the Terra burn wallet. It is a proposal to cut down on the 6.9 trillion LUNC supply.

So far, the community has received support from several central exchanges that have pledged to implement the tax rate in their own way. Notably, the community has expressed dissatisfaction with the refusal of Gate.io and Binance to implement the 1.2% tax rate on spot trading activity, restricting it to only withdrawals and deposits. However, in light of this, Binance has said it would review its implementation plan.

The traction garnered by the tax rate proposal has created renewed excitement and demand, awakening dreams of a $1 price point for the Terra Classic tokens. Consequently, LUNC has surged by over 200% in the past month, ranking among the top 30 crypto projects by market cap from 206.

As highlighted by The Crypto Basic in its latest report, it will take some doing and maybe some years for the $1 dream to be achievable. However, the LUNC community shows no sign of slowing down. LUNC is trading at the $0.0003677 price point, 4.71% down in the last 24 hours.

Top Investor Says Shiba Inu Can Never Reach $1

0

Prominent investor Lark Davis has squashed the hopes of the SHIBArmy, recently noting that Shiba Inu can never reach $1.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) has stationed itself as one of the most notable assets in the crypto ecosystem, always fighting against the status of a meme coin. Despite being the 13th largest digital asset by market capitalization, Shiba’s value is far from the $1 mark.

Nonetheless, some proponents of the asset still cling to the hope of a $1 price feat sometime in the future. Others have had a more gloomy outlook, stating that the asset cannot attain that value. Renowned crypto investor Lark Davis is the latest to make this proclamation.

Davis took to Twitter to illustrate his opinion on the asset’s price action through a meme. The illustration depicts the famous meme of an adventurer in an extensive search for “the scroll of truth.” According to Davis’ version of the meme, the scroll of truth reveals “SHIB Will Never Be $1.”

The depiction that Davis shared in the early hours of Tuesday illustrates the accomplished crypto analyst’s opinion of the asset. This opinion has remained common amongst most proponents despite the SHIBArmy’s hopes.

Despite the bearish postulations, Shiba Inu has managed to stand its ground against the intense bear market. Following the plunge to $0.00001183 on September 7 – the asset’s lowest value this month – the asset rallied by over 16% in two days to a high of $0.00001379 on September 9.

Though Shiba’s rally met some rejections at the $0.00001380 zone, the asset comfortably trades above the $0.000012 level. Launched in August 2020, Shiba Inu secures a position on the top 15 crypto assets list due to its large supply.

The total SHIB supply is 589.63 trillion, which may be the biggest hurdle for Shib’s price to reach $1.

However, With a market capitalization of $7B at the reporting time, SHIB remains the 13th largest cryptocurrency by market cap. It stands above prominent assets such as stablecoin Dai (DAI), Avalanche (AVAX), Tron (TRX), and Ethereum Classic (ETC).

The CoinMarketCap community has predicted a $0.00001106 price for Shiba by the end of 2022. The forecasted value is a 13% decline from the asset’s current price. Notwithstanding, the Shiba Inu accumulation trend has risen of late. On Monday, The Crypto Basic reported that the biggest Ethereum whale amassed up to 536B SHIB worth over $7M against the prevalent rate.

SHIB currently trades at a value of $0.00001276 as of press time, down 2.26% in the past 24 hours.

Potential Positive Effects And Risks Of Ethereum Merge, Everything You Need to Know

0

What do You need to Know About the Merge?

The long-awaited Ethereum merge will finalize in two days. This event will be a major milestone in the history of Ethereum. The merge is designed to reduce Ethereum’s energy usage, making it much more environmentally friendly than Bitcoin.

The upgrade’s effects on the network will be wide-ranging. First, the price of Ether could rise or fall sharply. Additionally, mainstream adoption of ETH could increase or decrease. The security risks associated with Ethereum could be reduced or exacerbated.

For those who are new to the world of blockchain, it’s important to understand why people use blockchains in the first place. One of the most important ideals of technology is decentralization. This means that no central authority can control the blockchain.

A government might try to control a central bank, but they would have no such luck with a blockchain. Blockchains are designed to be self-sufficient and decentralized in their power structure.

Transition From Proof of Work

Proof of Work (PoW) is the consensus algorithm that both Bitcoin and Ethereum have used up until now. It is what allows the blockchain to operate without a controlling body. PoW works by having miners approve new and valid transactions by solving complex math puzzles.

The puzzles are designed to be difficult for hackers or tamperers to game the system. In return for their efforts, miners are rewarded in the blockchain’s currency.

The main problem with PoW is that it is very energy intensive. The puzzles need to be increasingly complex to make it more difficult for hackers to game the system. This requires more and more energy as time goes on. POW also has design issues in terms of security and scalability. This is why the developers of Ethereum decided to eventually switch over to a new system called Proof of Stake (PoS).

The Potential Benefits of the Merge

Some engineers argue that PoS is a more secure and scalable system. PoS works by having validators deposit money into the Ethereum network. These validators then earn rewards for approving or denying transactions. The amount of money a validator can earn is proportional to the amount they have deposited.

This system is designed to be more secure than PoW because it would be costly for hackers to game it. They would need to deposit a large amount of money into the network and would stand to lose that money if caught.

The merger is significant because it will mark the first time a major cryptocurrency has switched to PoS. Miners will no longer be financially incentivized to run computers around the clock. Additionally, the network’s energy usage will drop by more than 99%.

This is good news in terms of the environmental impact and could lead to increased mainstream ETH adoption. If people see that Ethereum is serious about reducing its energy usage, they may be more inclined to use it.

Several traditional companies and financial institutions are optimistic about the merge. They have expressed trepidation about jumping fully into Ethereum due to its enormous carbon footprint.

Joe Lubin, a co-founder of Ethereum and the founder of the blockchain company Consensys, said he’s talked with several “major financial institutions” who have been waiting until the merge to become “significantly involved” in Ethereum.

The merge is a big step for Ethereum, but it is not the final solution to the network’s scalability problems. The most anticipated tool is sharding, which will split the network’s data into smaller pieces.

This will make the network faster and cheaper to use. Buterin said in February that sharding could eventually lower fees to around a nickel. This would bring back many crypto users who had spurned Ethereum for other cheaper blockchains, like Solana and Avalanche.

ETH developers believe that switching to PoS will enhance security and make the ETH network more resistant to attacks.

Are There Risks Associated With the Merge?

The risks of the merge should not be underestimated, however. If something were to go wrong, the entire Ethereum network could come crashing down. This would be disastrous for the crypto industry as a whole. It would also be a major setback for efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of the blockchain.

Ethereum is a direct network for NFTs, DeFi, and DAOs. If something were to go wrong, almost $50 billion in user funds would be in peril..

Ethereum’s user base can split because of merge. If most people stick to the old Proof of Work (PoW) version of Ethereum, it will surely badly affect the new PoS-based ETH.

Ethereum may become more susceptible to censorship after the merge, putting ETH at the center of a gigantic battle between crypto and the US SEC. Many experts believe SEC may sue Ethereum as security after merge.

However New chapters of Ethereum’s journey are just beginning. The merge is a big step forward, but much work still needs to be done. Lubin says that the goal is to make Ethereum “internet-scale.”

Shiba Inu Unveils First Concept Of Its Metaverse “Rocket Pond”

Shiba Inu continue to release mind-blowing concepts for its metaverse.

Following its July partnership with The Third Floor (TTF), Shiba Inu has unveiled beautiful visuals for its metaverse project, SHIB, The Metaverse.

In an announcement today, Shiba Inu has released the first concept of SHIB: The Metaverse’s Rocket Pond. According to the blog post, the team used the name “Rocket” based on its widespread adoption in the crypto space to signify that the value of an asset class is “going to the moon.”

Shiba Inu Writes: “Rockets in crypto represent a belief system on the price of an asset being so charming and full of energy that it only can fly to new horizons.”

Details of the Rocket Pond’s Concept

The first concept of the Rocket Pond is depicted in black and white. It gives the feeling of a hidden resort situated inside a mountain. The environment is also saturated with clear waters and wildlife, as well as resort buildings that extend to the mountain.

Additionally, the flora inspiration was gotten from White Fur, California Corn Lily, Ponderosa, Alder, Cedar, Jeffrey Pine, and Sulfur flowers.

The team also noted that the experience idea for the Rocket Pond was also gotten from the Resort, Gondolas, Alpine Coaster, Fly Fishing, Tubing, Trail Hiking, Bonfires/Camping, Hidden Waterfalls, etc.

Shiba Inu’s Dedication to Its Metaverse Project

Shiba Inu has been working relentlessly to ensure its metaverse project is rated among the best in the industry.

As reported by TheCryptoBasic, the meme-based cryptocurrency project revealed the first concept of SHIB: The Metaverse WAGMI Temple.

The idea behind releasing images of these concepts is to communicate the necessary feedback to the community and also suggest the roles each location would play in Shiba Inu’s metaverse project.

Shiba Inu recently inaugurated new teams responsible for interfacing directly with the community to meet their requirements for the metaverse project.

“We will be sharing [details of the metaverse project with the community, and helping to get people fully involved in the process. This will be via dedicated channels on Discord. First, the community will need to understand the feel, the design, and the inspiration of the world,” Shiba Inu said in a statement.

Cardano Remains Development King, Beats Ethereum In Number of Active GitHub Contributors

0

Cardano remains development king.

In a tweet yesterday, Contora, a platform tracking social and technology-related data on cryptocurrencies, revealed that it had revised its rankings for August, saying that Cardano had the highest development activity for the period.

“Our team analyzed the development activity of 7,400 crypto projects in August and improved our algorithms. Cardano is a new leader!” Contora said in their tweet.

Contora disclosed that Cardano developers reached out following its previous ranking that placed Ethereum as number one and did not see Cardano anywhere in the top 20. Consequently, Contora discovered that it had been tracking only the Cardano Foundation profile on Github and had not taken note of the Input-Output account. As a result, its new analysis reveals that Cardano leads the pack with 357 active Github contributors. Cardano is almost 3% ahead of Ethereum in the number of active contributors.

It bears mentioning that Cardano has led the crypto market in development activity for several months. However, it appeared to be unseated by Ethereum in August as The Merge upgrade edged closer as both Santiment and Contora ranked Ethereum on top.

As highlighted by Contora, some of the projects driving Cardano’s increased development activity are the Vasil hard fork and increased decentralized apps (dApps) development. Notably, aside from this, in recent weeks, Cardano has rolled out Mithril, a network optimization solution for stake pool operators (SPOs) testing. Additionally, a developer last Wednesday launched a wallet-to-wallet Cardano chat platform.

Cardano’s most significant upgrade to date as per the expected date of September 22 is now less than ten days away. At the time of writing, information on the Cardano Vasil hard fork readiness page reveals that 95% of SPOs are producing blocks with the final node version for the upgrade, node 1.35.3, well past the benchmark of 75%, additionally several top exchanges are Vasil ready including Binance with the benchmark of 25 exchanges well within reach and 6 out of the top 10 dApps by Total Value Locked (TVL) have concluded testing.

It bears mentioning that per the Input Output weekly development update, a Vasil test by community-driven NFT marketplace Artano revealed a 76-77% reduction in fees and a 92% reduction in transaction size. Notably, as often reported, the upgrade promises to improve the network’s scalability and smart contract functionality.
