Attorney John Deaton Says Ethereum Founder “Shameful” Comment Was An Attack On Innocent XRP Holders and Not Ripple

0

Attorney John Deaton Blast Ethereum Co-Founder Again for His Grudge Against Ripple (XRP).

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has continued to receive backlash for his statement against Ripple and XRP.

Yesterday, Buterin said XRP lost its right to be protected by Ethereum supporters after Ripple tried to “throw ETH under the bus” at the early stages of the company’s legal battle against the SEC.

As reported by The Crypto Basic, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin in a tweet yesterday, expressed the belief that Ethereum supporters had no obligation to speak up in support or defense of XRP, recalling filings by Ripple in December 2020 in their legal battle with the SEC, where the firm named Ethereum as Chinese-controlled.

Buterin’s comment has been heavily criticized by members of the Ripple community, including attorney John Deaton, attorney Jeremy Hogan, as well as Ripple CTO David Schwartz.

Deaton Slams Buterin Again

Despite earlier slamming Buterin for making such derogatory statements against Ripple, attorney Deaton, who is currently representing XRP holders in the SEC lawsuit, still found time to put the Ethereum co-creator on blast.

According to attorney Deaton, the fact that Buterin has refused to delete his ill statement against Ripple shows “he did not misspeak.”

Attorney Deaton referred to Buterin’s comment as a hateful statement aimed at “innocent XRP holders” and not Ripple.

“The more I think about the shameful and disgusting comment and considering you haven’t deleted or clarified it; I realize you didn’t misspeak. This was an immature hateful comment directed at a community of innocent digital asset holders and NOT Ripple.”

Recall that Deaton earlier proposed sending to Buterin emails of XRP holders who have been devastated financially following the SEC charges slammed against Ripple.

“People who’ve never heard of Ripple have had their XRP and life savings frozen,” attorney Deaton said earlier.

Meanwhile, Ripple’s General Counsel, Stuart Alderoty, described the SEC lawsuit as a rug pull against XRP holders.

It is common knowledge that the value of XRP has shrunk massively as a result of the SEC lawsuit. U.S.-based exchanges were forced to de-list XRP from their trading platforms due to fear that the SEC could charge them for facilitating the trading of the crypto asset deemed as security.

Elon Musk Not Interested In Buying More Bitcoin On Saylor Call

Michael Saylor Wants Elon Musk To Buy More Bitcoin; Musk Isn’t Listening.

Elon Musk has ignored calls by MicroStrategy’s Michael Saylor to acquire “some more Bitcoin.”

Elon Musk has been on a Twitter burst of late, eliciting mixed reactions to his controversial utterances. After announcing intentions to buy Twitter and stirring trouble about it, Elon joked about buying the UK-based football team, Manchester United.

The tweet caught the attention of Michael Saylor, the CEO of the crypto investment firm MicroStrategy. In response, Michael advised Elon to buy more BTC instead. That was on August 17.

“We would prefer that you buy some more Bitcoin.”

Elon Musk Response

However, Elon Musk responded by not replying to Michael’s suggestion. He ignored Saylor’s tip altogether. Still, the crypto community is on its toes, waiting to see what happens next. Elon Musk is known to cause market movement whenever he tweets in support of a particular crypto. He did it with Dogecoin many times. His joke about Manchester United increased the club’s stock by 16% in hours.

Why Tesla Sold Off Its BTC Stash

This is not the first time that Michael Saylor has tried to keep Elon Musk and his Tesla company in the BTC sphere. Back in July, when Tesla sold off 75% of its BTC stash, Michael wasn’t happy. He said: If you sell 75% of your bitcoin, you will only have 25% of your bitcoin left.

The massive transfer of BTC to exchanges in 24 hours.

Possible Interest Rates Hike Prompts Investors to Dump 13.7K Bitcoin (BTC) on Binance and Coinbase.

The last 24 hours have been terrible for cryptocurrency investors globally, as prices of all crypto assets have plummeted massively. In the past day, Bitcoin has lost nearly 10% of its value, after falling from above $23,000 to $21,353, data from Coingecko shows.

The price of Bitcoin started falling after Federal Reserve’s minutes suggested a possible hike in interest rates was around the corner in a bid to curtail rising inflation.

Based on this expectation, investors are pressured into converting their crypto assets to stablecoins, as they expect prices to plunge soon. Bitcoin investors were not left out.

On the other hand, according to Coinglass data, crypto liquidation reached above $600M as $223M were liquidated in Bitcoin and $162M in Ethereum in the past 24 hours. Other liquidations include $9.6M in doge, $14M in SOL, $7M in ADA, and $5M in XRP & LINK.

Huge Amount of BTC Transferred to Exchanges

Cryptocurrency whale tracking service Whale Alert observed some large amounts of Bitcoin transferred to cryptocurrency exchanges in the last 24 hours.

According to Whale Alert, a total of 13,735 BTC have been sent to exchanges in a day.

First, Whale Alert saw a total of 1,824 BTC worth $42.23 million transferred from an unknown wallet to San Francisco-based exchange Coinbase.

Similarly, the cryptocurrency whale tracking service observed another 1,894 Bitcoin ($43.42 million) sent from an unknown wallet to an address on Coinbase.

Additionally, 1,008 BTC were also moved to a different Coinbase address from an unknown wallet, Whale Alert reports.

Furthermore, another 1,000 units of Bitcoin were sent from a Xapo address to Coinbase. At the time of the transaction, the funds were valued at around $22 million.

More Bitcoin Moved to Exchanges

Per Whale Alert, a total of 1,009 Bitcoins ($22.18 million) were transferred from an address on the Coinbase exchange to Binance.

In addition, 1,000 units of BTC ($21.94 million) were also moved from popular wallet provider Xapo to Binance. Another exchange to exchange BTC transfer also occurred today between Binance and Coinbase.

A total of 5,000 BTC worth $107.98 million were moved to a Coinbase address from Binance.

Whale Alert also reported that another 1,000 BTC, worth $21.39 million, were sent from Xapo to Binance.

Crypto Market Falls Under $1.1T As Investors Frustrated By Mixed Fed Signals On the Rate Increase

As Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies continue to Slump, Crypto Investors Loss $605 Million in 24 Hours.

Earlier today, just as the market was headed towards recovery after the May-June slump, which erased billions of dollars from the market value of 3 trillion, Bitcoin (BTC) and other altcoins dumped suddenly, leaving investors scratching their heads as their investments vanished into thin air.

Bitcoin took a new swing on Friday, with approximately $220 million liquidated from investors within 24 hours.

The Journey started yesterday when the primary cryptocurrency dropped to a new weekly low of $23,000 and continued retracing most of the day. BTC began to lose value faster this morning, declining to $22,800 before dropping to $21,454 at press time, recording a new low in over three weeks.

Last week, the king of cryptocurrency closed its two weeks consecutive streak of $23,000, which was the benchmark of recovery for the precious bear markets since 2014.

After the BTC decline in price, the total market cap fell below $1.1, currently standing at $1.035T, while other top cryptocurrencies like Ethereum followed suit, with a 3.8 percent drop. BNB also dropped to 11 percent, while SOL, ADA, and XRP dropped 14, 11, and 9 percent, respectively, following BTC’s footsteps.

The drops followed equity markets, as most of Europe and US equity-index futures fell. This again proved that crypto prices move according to US stocks.

According to a Bloomberg report, the massive sell-offs could be linked to uncertainty and fear among crypto investors as they are unable to get a “clear sense of direction of Federal Reserve monetary policy.”

Per the report, two executives from the Federal Reserve, James Bullard and Esther George, disclosed “divergent signals” on the size of the next interest rate hike. The report further noted that there is an ongoing stipulation that Jerome Powell, the Fed chair, may lean against the recent financial downtrend that has impacted the entire market over the past weeks to determine the rate.

Speaking on the matter, Craig Erlam, a senior market analyst at Oanda, noted that the market recovery trend was looking weak and has been for weeks.

“The recovery trend was looking weak and has been for weeks, but I don’t think that alone explains such a huge move all of a sudden,” he said.

Alex Kuptsikevich, a senior market analyst at FxPro told Bloomberg:

“The weakening of global equity indices and the deteriorating macroeconomic backdrop is a worrying factor, We believe we will see similar sharp market movements again in the coming months.”

Is Ethereum Headed For A Massive Price Correction Towards $1300? Experts Weigh In

0

Recent analysis indicates that Ethereum could soon experience a correction of as much as 28%.

Ethereum’s market has been quite interesting these past months. After the crypto market mounted a recovery after months of winter-ish bearish sentiment, ETH shot up by more than 100%, reaching the highs of $2,080 from the lows of $896.

However, it appears that the coin is now running out of steam. The coin has lost by over 8% over the last 24 hours. It’s currently trading at around $1,700.

Is ETH On The Way To $1,300?

According to a tweet shared by one of the top traders, Ali Martinez, data from TradingView reveal that ETH’s rising edge has broken out, indicating a possible downfall to the $1,300 range. That represents a whole 28% price correction.

In another tweet, the fan shared more data from IntoTheBlock. The data indicates that close to 680k addresses purchased Ethereum at around $1,700-$1,750. As such, the coin must hold above this range, failure to which the buyers may panic sell and lead to a further crash down to the $1,300 range.

“Ethereum must hold above this demand zone to have a chance of recovering. Otherwise, these addresses could try to break even in their positions, triggering a correction to $1,300.

Notably, this is happening ahead of Ethereum’s Merge slated for September 15, 2022. The crypto market is volatile, and therefore it’s still unclear what direction the trend might take in the coming days and weeks.

VeChain Public Thor Testnet Now Include The New FOB Consensus Update Bringing More Features

0

The Thor testnet run by VeChain has successfully been updated to include the new FOB upgrades.

Like a few other blockchain networks in the crypto world, VeChain has been working hard to keep its systems up-to-date, including implementing the latest and most effective functionalities. In this case, VeChain has come up with a new upgrade that has already been run on its Thor testnet.

More About The Update

According to a recent announcement, the VIP-220-AKA upgrade, also known as FOB (Finality with One Bit), is a working mechanism that uses PoA (Proof-of-Authority) mechanism that allows for the same-time implementation of both the Nakamoto and BFT consensus algorithms on the VeChain network. This will create a more robust and effective network with improved resilience.

FOB Characteristic, According to Vechain:

  • “FOB is simple by design and adds minimal redundancy to the existing PoA-based Thor protocol.
  • FOB, nodes are implicitly locked, i.e., they could vote by appending blocks for multiple forks.
  • FOB could recover from network failure as soon as the network returns to normal and the underlying blockchain is fork-free.”

Node Operators To Install An Upgrade

Along with the announcement, VeChain noted that node operators will now be required to upgrade their testnet nodes to stay at par with the new working model.

VeChain’s Conquest

As recently reported by The Crypto Basic, VeChain has been on a charm offensive to enter into partnerships with various global entities with like-minded goals in the blockchain industry. The network has also been ranked as being among the top 10 most engaging blockchain networks by CoinMarketCap.

Cardano Founder Says He’s Tired of Being Blamed for Decisions About Vasil Hard Fork

0

Hoskinson has responded to critics, saying he is not in haste to roll out Vasil.

Charles Hoskinson has taken to Twitter to dismiss reports that Input-Output Global (IOG), Cardano’s research and development company, is rushing to deploy the Vasil hard fork.

According to Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, critics have been sharing videos suggesting that the IOG is in a hurry to deploy node 1.35.3, the system Vasil is tipped to be the version of Hard Fork Combinator (HFC).

Dismissing these claims, Hoskinson said the node had been heavily tested by several developers, including Stake Pool Operators (SPOs).

“The code that was an issue on the testnet has been removed,” Hoskinson added.

Hoskinson added that the IOG could decide to postpone Vasil’s launch for a few months to “retest code that’s already been tested a dozen times.”

However, he finds it unfair to continuously delay the launch of Vasil, which many decentralized application developers have patiently been waiting for.

“We, of course, could as a community delay the launch of Vasil for a few months to retest code that’s already been tested a dozen times and is already running. Is that worth it to all the DApp developers who have been waiting for this update for almost a year now?”

Hoskinson Is Tired of Being Blamed

The development comes less than two days after ProjetNEWM CTO, Andrew Westberg, said Hoskinson was not on the same page as his developers following the release of node 1.35.1.

Westberg urged SPOs to disregard Hoskinson’s call and run the node on a prepared network first. Aside from Westberg, other SPOs seemed unhappy with Hoskinson.

Responding to these criticisms, Hoskinson said:

“You’re the SPOs; you ultimately decide. I’m seriously tired of taking the blame on both sides. Cardano is decentralized. The people running the network ultimately decide upgrades, not me.”

Canada New Regulations Allows Users To Buy Unlimited Amount Of BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH While Restricting Others

Canadian Crypto Regulators Impose New Changes on Annual Altcoin Buying Limit to 30,000 CAD.

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) have imposed new changes to the net buying limit of cryptocurrencies to protect investors from the risks associated with trading virtual assets.

Under the new regulatory changes, investors are allowed to purchase an unlimited amount of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH), depending on the province. However, other cryptocurrencies are subjected to a new net buying limit of 30,000 Canadian dollars annually, approximately $24,000.

All registered crypto exchanges in the region are expected to comply with the changes, which are set to be amended after 12 months of usage.

Based on the new changes, Newton, one of Canada’s leading crypto trading companies, announced that its customers are subjected to the rule.

Per the announcement, the exchange noted that cryptocurrency investors residing in the following areas: New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Saskatchewan are expected to comply with the annual net buy limit of 30K Canadian dollars.

However, BC, Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec investors are exempt from the rule and can purchase four non-restricted virtual assets without limitations.

“These limits exclude the following coins: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash. If you live in BC, Alberta, Manitoba, or Quebec.”

The changes are also designed to reset after 12 months and only impact digital assets purchased using the Canadian dollar.

Newton further explained that if an investor buys or sells a restricted token, the sale amount would be removed from the limit.

Furthermore, exchanges must gather information about users’ crypto investing experience and financial situation.

Per the announcement, the latest development came after the crypto exchange registered its business with the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) and the securities regulatory authorities in other Canadian territories under the CSA Jurisdiction.

“These changes are to protect crypto investors, like yourself, and to make sure investors are aware of the risks associated with investing in crypto assets,” said the exchange.

What’s the Big Fuss About Real Estate In the Metaverse?

0

As blockchain technologies have continued to progress over the past decade, they have made leaps in what is currently possible when utilizing blockchain tools. What was once limited to only cryptocurrency has evolved into a thriving ecosystem that has implemented itself into industries across the world.

With a total valuation nearing 6 billion in 2021, with an expected annual growth rate of 85.9% between 2020-2030, it’s clear that with this level of investment, blockchain is destined for great things. One of the most recent shockwaves that’s been sent through the blockchain community is the active development of Web 3, with the deployment of the Metaverse creating a wave of intrigue.

The Metaverse, which is currently valued by McKinsey with the potential to reach a 5 trillion valuation by 2030, is becoming too big to ignore. A large part of this valuation is generated from real estate within the Metaverse, with the ability to buy space, create businesses, and even advertise in this virtual world, drawing attention from individuals and brands alike.

In this article, we’ll be outlining what the Metaverse is, explaining the extension of real estate into this area of blockchain, and demonstrating exactly why these technologies are receiving so much hype.

Let’s get right into it.

What Is the Metaverse?

The Metaverse, built using a mixture of blockchain and VR technologies, is a series of virtual worlds that offers consumers a distinctly immersive experience. Within these virtual worlds, users can create characters, build structures, and explore everything the globe has to offer. The applications of this technology are vast, with everything from workplaces to fashion brands like Nike starting to turn their attention to this sector.

When examining the Metaverse, the main pull for businesses is the potentially endless applications. With tech giants like Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Meta all investing huge figures in bringing the working reality of this world to life. From companies advertising their products in this virtual space to individuals building and playing games with their friends, the Metaverse is a space where technology meets creativity.

One of the largest active uses of the Metaverse is within gaming, with companies using the virtual reality space to let people create and play games in segmented worlds. With the inclusion of blockchain technology, many of these virtual worlds include an element of cryptocurrency, with users being able to earn or use cryptocurrency to interact with the system in new ways.

With the arrival of capital in the form of cryptocurrency, the interest that businesses have in the Metaverse has increased, with the real estate market being one area in particular that has gained a lot of attention over the past year.

How Does Land Work in the Metaverse?

In early 2022, real estate sales across various metaverse platforms reached over $500 million USD, demonstrating the huge flux of capital that is currently moving into this industry. Real estate in the Metaverse works much like in real life, with individuals and companies being able to buy specific plots.

In their plots, they can then build, construct, rent, or do whatever they would like with the land they’ve acquired. While many focus on individual purchases, with one user spending a little under $500,000 USD in order to become Snoop Dog’s Metaverse plot neighbor, there are also a range of commercial applications that are coming to people’s attention.

If the Metaverse continues to head in the direction it’s currently going, seemingly gaining traction at every turn, then commercial real estate spaces could actually become incredibly valuable. As more users flock to this system, brands are buying plots and creating virtual stores, using NFT technology to sell customized items that users can then equip their avatars with.

Some brands, like CEEK, are taking this one step further by providing users with the ability to connect their Metaverse plots of land to a real-world economy. With CEEK, by using a Metaverse utility token, users can buy land, build, and then monetize their purchases. After acquiring CEEK, users can then exchange this in DeFi exchanges in order to make real-world money.

By getting involved in the Metaverse world of CEEK, both brands and individuals can create games, host events, and invite others to their plot of land. Even Meta, the recently renamed tech giant Facebook, has demonstrated its support for CEEK, with this being one of the most promising land sale Metaverses currently on the market.

While other companies like The Sandbox also offer land real estate opportunities to their users, CEEK has fewer available plots, allowing current users to scale their investments more rapidly, with the company helping to maximize utility for the users.

The creation of this active community is a fantastic opportunity of what is possible within the Metaverse, with brands like CEEK using this virtual space to create exciting, rewarding, and expansive spaces where individuals and brands can interrelate.

Final Thoughts

Blockchain, and its most recent poster child in the Metaverse, has come a long way in a very short amount of time. The global adoption of the Metaverse, with tech giants, retail titans, and internationally renewed brands all funding its development, represents an exciting moment in modern technology.

Alongside the development of the Metaverse, the methods that companies are using to interact and create valuable experiences within this virtual world is a testament to the creativity that companies are bringing to this space. The Sandbox, CEEK, and other Metaverse companies are building worlds where individuals can get involved, create whatever they’d like, and drive forward a fantastic user experience.

Over the next few years, we’re likely to see the global interest and understanding of the Metaverse increase even more. From further developments within individual Metaverse spaces to the mass popularization of marketing and advertising in the Metaverse, this virtual space represents a fantastic opportunity for businesses and individuals alike.
