Cardano’s Decentralized Treasury Now Holds 927 Million ADA Worth $500M

0

The value of Cardano’s Treasury nears $500 million in ADA amid crypto’s price hike.

The massive surge in the price of Cardano in the last 24 hours also contributed to the growth in the number and value of ADA in the Cardano Treasury.

Per data provided by Cardano Blockchain Insights, the number of ADA in the Cardano Treasury has soared to above 927.2 million coins.

Based on the increase in the number of ADA in the treasury and the massive spike in the cryptocurrency’s price, Cardano’s treasury is now worth nearly $500 million. The development was shared by a popular Cardano enthusiast on Twitter earlier today.

It is worth noting that Cardano’s Treasury had surpassed a billion dollars in the past. However, due to the cryptocurrency market crash at the beginning of the year, the value of Cardano’s Treasury also slumped.

Following the massive spike of ADA that has gained over 25% in the last 24 hours, Cardano’s Treasury value has begun to gain momentum.

Cardano’s Treasury Decentralization

According to Cardano’s founder Charles Hoskinson, the project’s treasury is decentralized and funded by the community in contrast to other crypto projects funded by venture capitalists.

Cardano’s Treasury is used to support developers building on the blockchain to ensure that they have a hitch-free experience using the network.

Earlier this month, Sebastien Guillemot, dcSpart co-founder, took to his Twitter page to express his gratitude to Cardano for setting up the Treasury, which has helped with the development of one of its flagship products.

“Reminder that the Cardano treasury still has a massive $723M USD in $ADA. Companies like dcspark_io can continue to build tooling uninterrupted thanks to Cardano’s treasury. In fact, we have two large tooling announcements in the next 1~2 weeks,” Guillemot said.

Reacting to his comments, Hoskinson noted that the funds in the Cardano Treasury will continue to increase, adding that:

“Cardano has its own growth fund and it’s decentralized!”

Hoskinson recently slammed VCs and crypto media for not supporting Cardano, adding that the project has recorded significant growth despite the lack of funding from these venture capitalists.

However, Hoskinson heaped praises on the Cardano community for throwing their weight behind the project. For Hoskinson, the Cardano’s Treasury, which is controlled by the community, is enough to foster the growth of ADA to new heights.

Unfortunately, the value of the Treasury has plummeted from $700 million down to around $500 million as the cryptocurrency market retraces amidst the collapse of Terra ecosystem tokens.

Ripple Reportedly Opens New Regional Office in India Amid Ongoing SEC Lawsuit

A new job advert made by Ripple suggests that the company has opened a new office in India.

Popular blockchain company Ripple is reportedly planning to establish a new office in the city of Bengaluru, India.

This became known to the public after the popular blockchain company launched a new job advert for a role in the Bengaluru-based office.

According to the job advert made by the fintech company in search of a Senior Project Manager, Ripple set Bengaluru, Kemataka, India as its location in the ad, suggesting that a new Ripple regional office may have been launched in the country.

As with most job vacancies, when a job location is included in the ad, the recruiter is looking to source talent within that city.

Details of the Job Ad

An interesting development in the job advert, Ripple is looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager, Central Bank, who will be tasked with the responsibility of leading the company’s engagements with various central banks.

The selected applicant will guide the deployment of various Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) projects.

Furthermore, even though the applicant may reside in India, he or she will work closely with other Ripple departments outside the country, in a bid to develop solutions that will have positive impacts on the global financial sector.

The job vacancy advert further adds that while the applicant could be in Bengaluru, his or her role may be “based out of  India, Singapore, United States, and the United Kingdom.”

Ripple’s Expansion Plans

Although Ripple is yet to comment on whether it plans to expand its operations in India, the company has been expanding its footprint to different parts of the world outside the USA, especially following its ongoing lawsuit with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Ripple, which already has a regional office in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was reported to be considering moving its headquarters to the United Kingdom.

The urge to move its operations outside the United States became serious as it became evident that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is poised to set an example of Ripple for allegedly breaching its securities laws.

Binance Lists Terra 2.0 (LUNA), Completes Airdrop

Binance: Terra LUNA Airdrop Is Complete, Users Can Now Access Their Funds In Their Spot Wallets.

Binance has completed the planned Terra LUNA airdrops to LUNC and UST holders affected by the recent price crash. The crypto exchange announced the good news in a tweet.

The airdrop was conducted after the launch of Terra 2.0 on May 27. Prior to that, pre-attack and post-attack snapshots of users’ accounts on the exchange were done. The snapshots were then used to determine the number of new LUNA tokens distributed to each user.

How To Check For Airdropped Tokens On Binance

Binance also gave out a simple procedure on how users will check for their tokens. On the distribution page, users will be able to see their new LUNA tokens by unchecking the “hide 0 balances” option on their spot wallets.

LUNA Deposits Enabled

Binance also announced that users will now be able to deposit their LUNA tokens on the exchange. Withdrawals will be re-enabled on June 1st. Terra LUNA and UST transactions had been suspended following the sudden price crash of the tokens. The launching of Terra 2.0 came as a relief to users as they got airdrops to compensate for their losses.

However, Binance has clarified that the LUNA airdrop will not be available to people in the United States or other sanctioned countries. The exchange has had legal issues that have threatened to keep it out of the US market. It’s not yet clear how US users using the exchange will receive their compensation. Terra had advised users to transfer their token to the Terra station and await the airdrop.

Binance List Terra 2.0 LUNA

Besides supporting Terra 2.0 and LUNA airdrops, Binance also starts trading new LUNA on its trading platform, although the token will be initially listed in the innovation zone. The exchange is one of the various crypto platforms that have expressed support for Terra 2.0 and the new LUNA.

Cardano Development Activity Hits ATH, And ADA Overtakes BUSD And XRP to Become Sixth-Largest Crypto

Cardano (ADA) Overtakes Binance USD (BUSD) and Ripple (XRP) to Become Sixth-Largest Cryptocurrency.

Cardano’s constant development seems to be paying off as the cryptocurrency overtakes two others to become the sixth-largest crypto by market capitalization.

Following a 25% surge in the last 24 hours, Cardano (ADA) has moved two steps ahead in the global cryptocurrency ranking.

Cardano moved from eighth position to sixth, usurping Binance USD (BUSD) and Ripple (XRP) along the way. After adding over a billion dollars in the last 24 hours, Cardano currently boasts of a market capitalization of $20.6 billion.

The price of ADA has gained massively in the last 24 hours. In the past day, ADA has moved from a low of $0.517 to a high of $0.665. At the time of writing this line, the cryptocurrency is changing hands around $0.653, according to data on Coingecko.

The development comes less than 24 hours after Cardano topped Ethereum in terms of transaction volume.

Meanwhile, the XRP, which has enjoyed a lengthy spell in sixth position, has fallen a step lower to seventh spot following the massive rally of ADA.

At press time, XRP now boasts of a market capitalization of $20.2 billion, which puts the price of one unit at $0.42.

Cardano’s Constant Development Pays Off

According to popular on-chain metrics cryptocurrency data provider Santiment, the massive surge of Cardano puts the digital currency on the list of altcoins that have enjoyed a remarkable week.

Santiment added that Cardano’s development activity is now at an all-time high following continuous development and innovation even as prices were suppressed.

“#Cardano is one of many #altcoins that have enjoyed a great start to the week, currently +13% in the past 24 hours. Development activity has hit #AllTimeHigh levels, as $ADA’s team worked on innovating while prices were suppressed,” Santiment noted.

The Cardano team has been more focused on the development aspect of the project. The team believes that when things are running effectively, more users will have no choice but to flock to the network.

In recent times, Cardano’s development team has been preparing for the launch of Vasil Hard Fork, an upgrade slated to go live by the end of next month.

The Vasil Hard Fork is tipped to introduce significant features that will boost the overall performance of Cardano, including speed, scalability, as well as smart contract functionality.

Projects building on Cardano have reached almost 1000, while NFTs on Cardano has crossed 5M, Cardano total value locked stands at $154M, while in past 24 hours Cardano Records 3x Transaction Volume Than Ethereum, which shows that the ecosystem is building strongly.

Shiba Inu Lead Developer Finally Reveals Graphics for Upcoming SHIB Collectible Card Game

0

Kusama has finally shared graphics of Shiba Inu’s CCG game.

Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu project, has shared an important update for its upcoming play-to-earn game dubbed SHIB Collectible Card Game (SHIB CCG).

According to the Shiba Inu lead, the developers of the game will be activating the Shiboshi Social Club on a mission for the upcoming SHIB CCG.

Kusama also shared a graphic from the game, which depicts a Shiboshi that was hit by a baseball bat on the head, with an inscription that reads “Bonk!”

The trading card image is a 3D Shiboshi from the game, Kusama revealed.

Kusama Kept to His Words

This comes a week after the lead developer of the memecoin project revealed last week that he will be sharing some graphics from the upcoming CCG game to make them anticipate for more.

“Also I saw some GREAT art from @PlaysideStudios for our Shib CCG. Can’t wait to share. Great work mates,” Kusama said in the tweet.

In his latest tweet, Kusama issued a warning to critics of the Shiba Inu project, saying: “Finally to the fudders: BONK.”

Update Coincides With Ryoshi’s Reappearance

Meanwhile, the update coincides with yesterday’s development, when Shiba Inu’s pseudonymous founder Ryoshi resurfaced after a year and deleted all his tweets and Medium blog posts.

Ryoshi did not stop there as he also changed his Twitter profile picture to a 3D Shiboshi that will be featured in the upcoming game.

Some of the SHIB holders who joined the guessing game following Ryoshi’s appearance suggested that the community should brace for an upcoming update. Interestingly, it did not take up to 24 hours before Kusama shared a graphic from the CCG.

Apparently, SHIB CCG will still be launching in early September 2022 as planned and the community is eager to start playing the much-anticipated play-to-earn game.

That’s Why Terra 2.0 Abandoned UST??? As Apparently Terra Founder Do Kwon Looking To Bring New Stablecoin

Is Do Kwon Planning To Create A New Stablecoin On Terra 2.0?

Terra’s Do Kwon is still a major subject of discussion within crypto circles after the collapse of Terra LUNA and UST. Now, a new rumor has sprouted up with claims that the beleaguered Terra founder is planning to create a new stablecoin on Terra 2.0.

The Voting For Terra (LUNA) New Blockchain went live, but TerraUSD (UST) was not included in the plan. Then Terra 2.0 was launched on May 27 after Do Kwon and his Terraform team worked to solve the collapse of LUNA and UST. An airdrop was conducted to users after the launch.

News of Do Kwon’s current plans was broken in a tweet by a popular whistle blower ‘FatMan’ with access to insider information. The claims are yet to be confirmed or refuted by Terra or Do Kwon.

Popular Twitter influencer also brought the topic to light:

Decentralization Welcome

While a stablecoin associated with Do Kwon isn’t the best news in the community right now, there are those who feel that decentralization is an important step towards censorship-free money. In this case, Do Kwon’s decentralized stablecoin on Terra 2.0 may be welcome.

On the other hand, the collapse of UST could be an impediment to such plans because a lot of people are still skeptical of Terra’s viability. Many people lost their savings when UST and LUNA crashed. A new stablecoin created by Terra may not inspire much confidence in the community.

Tajo crypto says:

“Terraform Labs handled Luna classic poorly and developed Luna 2.0 and people are still rushing to buy it. So, Do Kwon is coming with UST 2.0 so that people will continue buying. Lots of people in the crypto space don’t care what happened before, they just want to make money.”

Fully Collateralized?

While Do Kwon’s critics don’t like the new idea per se, they would consider supporting it if TFL wanted to create a fully collateralized stable coin on Terra 2.0. Such a stable coin would be protected from such price crashes as recently seen with UST.

Terra 2.0 has received support from various quarters in the crypto market, especially the much-needed listing of the new LUNA token on exchanges. A few days ago, the trading platforms have also been instrumental in supporting the Luna airdrop.

However, it’s not clear whether they would list a new Terra stable coin. Also, the claims have left the community with questions about what will happen to UST if another stablecoin is created. Was UST not part of Terra’s revival plan? The community is now anxious to hear from Do Kwon and TFL to clear the air about the stablecoin claims.

Terra Team Confirms LUNA Airdrop Not Distributed Properly, Promises A Solution

Terra Team is now finding a solution for not properly distributing Luna airdrop.

It seems that Terra Luna isn’t out of the mud yet. Apparently, the launch of Terra 2.0 and the planned LUNA airdrop to affected holders didn’t work as expected. A lot of users are now complaining that they didn’t get their fair share of the airdrop.

another user said:

and the complaints keep on going:

It’s worth noting that after the collapse of LUNA price and the de-pegging of UST from USD, the Terra blockchain was halted and exchanges suspended UST and LUNA transactions. This meant that panicked holders couldn’t withdraw their stash even as the price crashed further. These losses were to be recovered through the LUNA airdrop when Terra 2.0 went live.

Terra Acknowledges Airdrop Problem

In a recent tweet, Terra said that the team is aware of the airdrop problem and promised to find a solution soon. How this will happen is still a subject of speculation. However, the Terra community will still expect Do Kwon and his team to come up with a plan to save the situation.

First off, some members of the Terra community were initially opposed to the creation of Terra 2.0. They supported an alternative plan to burn the original LUNA tokens, create demand, and increase the price. However, this plan was later shelved in favor of Terra 2.0. The original Luna tokens have now been renamed LUNA Classic. The airdrop in question involved the new LUNA minted on Terra 2.0.

Community Losing Faith In Terra

Following the airdrop mishap, there are now fears that the community may lose faith in Terra, even as Do Kwon and Terraform Labs struggle to boost confidence in Terra LUNA. How the airdrop issue is handled will determine the fate of the community’s confidence in Terra.

At the moment, Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) is still struggling to recover its price. It’s now at position 213 in the charts and trading at around $0.00012. Users are still hopeful for recovery.

Do Kwon Continued Terra ($LUNA) Project Despite Warnings of Its Imminent Collapse, Company’s Employee Reveal

0

Korean authorities are making progress with the ongoing investigation of the collapse of TerraForm Labs.

New revelations have emerged about the ongoing investigation of the collapse of Terra ecosystem tokens, $LUNA and $UST.

According to a recent report, TerraForm Labs employees disclosed that prior to the launch of Terra tokens, the project’s founder Do Kwon was warned that the tokens would eventually collapse.

However, Kwon refused to heed these warnings and proceeded to launch the cryptocurrency. Kwon’s refusal to heed the warnings of developers who conducted a pilot experiment that failed, resulted in the loss of over $60 billion, with only a few investors escaping the crash.

“Even at that time, there was an insider warning that there could be a collapse at any time, but CEO Kwon Do-Hyeong forced the coin to be launched,” one of the employees disclosed during an investigation.

Terra Currently Under Investigation

It is worth noting that TerraForm Labs and its executives are undergoing serious investigations in South Korea. Korean authorities believe the collapse of Terra tokens has not been properly investigated and as such a series of efforts were launched toward that effect.

As reported, the Korean government relaunched its specialized crime unit to investigate the main cause of the Terra collapse.

Following the government’s quest to ascertain the cause of Terra’s collapse, a joint financial and security crime investigation unit was set up by South Korea’s prosecutors office.

The specialized crime unit interrogated all TerraForm Labs staff, especially those involved during the development of the project at its initial stage in 2019.

The employee continued that Kwon was warned against launching the project due to the high interest Terra proposed to pay investors of its Anchor Yield program.

“If you pay interest of several tens of percent to investors without a stable collateral or profit model, people may flock to you at the beginning. At a certain point in time, it has no choice but to collapse because it cannot handle interest payments and fluctuations in value,” the employee added.

Obsessed with his project, Kwon launched Terra still with the same model, which subsequently crushed and put many people and entities into severe losses.

Terra’s Compensation Plan Still Not Meeting Expectations

With Terra tokens collapsing, Kwon has set plans in motion to compensate investors, by creating a new chain and $LUNA tokens, as well as burning the excess supply of $UST.

However, these moves do not seem likely to make investors whole in earnest as the tokens are still trading beneath what was recorded last month.

At press time, $LUNA is trading around $8.45, while $UST is changing hands at $0.02

Has Shiba Inu Lost Its Founder?

Has Shiba Inu lost Its Founder? SHIB Community Unsettled as Project Founder Deletes All Tweets and Posts.

Ryoshi makes a surprise appearance after one year of disappearing by deleting everything.

The Shiba Inu (SHIB) community is curious to know what instigated Ryoshi, the project’s pseudonymous founder, to delete all his Twitter posts and Medium blog posts.

Ryoshi had been active on various social media platforms between when Shiba Inu made its official debut in August 2020 and May 2021.

Around this time last year, Ryoshi made his latest tweet on the microblogging platform Twitter and since then, no announcement has been made from his account.

Community Reaction to Ryoshi’s Disappearance

With no post from Ryoshi’s account, many have wondered where the pseudonymous Shiba Inu founder has been, with different speculations made in a bid to ascertain what has kept him from public spaces.

Meanwhile, Shiba Inu’s lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has held things down for the SHIB community, releasing significant updates and information to the public.

Ryoshi’s Social Media Accounts Deactivated

When people started to get used to receiving updates from Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Ryoshi returned. However, this time, he came to delete all previous tweets made from his Twitter account.

Ryoshi did not stop there, he also deleted all posts made on his Medium page dubbed “All Hail The Shiba.” A quick search on Ryoshi’s Medium page would give the “410 Error,” with a message “User deactivated or deleted their account.”

He also changed his Twitter profile picture to an image of Buddhist Jetsun Milarepa, who is a Tibetan poet, while his header image was also changed to a picture of a half moon.

Community Debate on the Recent Development

With recent developments, the Shiba Inu community has weighed in on what prompted the latest actions from Ryoshi.

Many suggest that perhaps the pseudonymous founder is planning to make a major comeback and participate in the day-to-activities of the Shiba Inu project.

However, other users suggested that it could be that a malefactor has gained unrestricted access to Ryoshi’s Twitter and Medium accounts and subsequently deleted all his posts.

It is worth noting that Ryoshi had previously emphasized that he is replaceable and would disappear. The idea of deleting his Twitter and Medium blog posts could be his last move before cutting his ties to the project.

Milkshake the Shiba Inu team member quotes Ryoshi saying: “I am not important, and I will be gone without notice one day. Take the SHIBA and journey upwards frens.”

Reacting to the development Shiba Inu’s main developer Shytoshi Kusama said:

“Ryoshi was, and is, one of the most successful anonymous founders of any project…, we grow nearer to a completed Ryoshi’s Vision and realizing global decentralization, he would leave it up to us, The Shib Army…, Shib is Shib and we remain to grow far into the future following the path laid by our magnificent founder.

I salute and thank you Ryoshi!”

Either way, the community is awaiting the next move and hopeful that one of the Shiba Inu team members will provide more insights into what prompted the recent events. In general, the Shiba Inu community has acted neutral to the recent development.
