Ethereum Eyes $2,100: Can FOMC News Spark a Bullish Rally?

Ethereum price trend targets $2,100 with a range breakout as the market recovers before the FOMC meeting results.

With less than 12 hours left for the Federal rate cut decisions to go live, the crypto market is witnessing a minor recovery. Bitcoin is above $83,000, and Ethereum is gradually inching closer to the $2,000 mark.

While the broader market expects the Fed to keep rates unchanged, growing anticipation is driving the short-term recovery. Will this short-term recovery lead to a breakout in Ethereum, pushing it past the $2,100 mark?

Ethereum Price Eyes Range Breakout Rally

In the 4-hour price chart, the Ethereum price trend reveals a breakout of a short-term resistance line. This hints at the conclusion of a lower-high trend formation.

Moreover, the breakout rally is now targeting a range breakout. The consolidation range in Ethereum extends from $1,850 to $1,950.

Currently, Ethereum’s recovery run has created three consecutive bullish candles, which increases the chances of a breakout rally.

With the bullish sentiments gradually improving, the MACD and signal lines approach the positive territory.  Furthermore, as the bullish histograms resurface, the momentum indicator triggers a buy signal for Ethereum.

Justin Sun Adds $100M ETH to Staking

Amid the short-term recovery, a key figure in the industry is growing bullish on Ethereum.

According to Arkham Intelligence, Justin Sun, the founder of the Tron ecosystem, has staked $100 million in Ethereum. This move seeks to generate $3 million in ETH per year.

Ethereum ETFs Hit 10 Consecutive Days of Outflow

Despite the short-term recovery and the confidence of key figures, inflows into Ethereum ETFs continue to decline. On March 18, Ethereum ETFs experienced an outflow of $52.82 million, marking their 10th consecutive day of outflows.

Ethereum ETFs

Leading these outflows, BlackRock recorded $40.17 million in outflows, followed by Grayscale with $9.33 million and Fidelity with $3.32 million.

The remaining six Ethereum ETFs maintained a net-zero flow. The total volume traded on March 18 was recorded at $235.78 million, with total net assets standing at $6.56 billion.

Ethereum Price Targets

Based on the price action analysis, the breakout of Ethereum, amid the growing anticipation of Fed rate cuts, will likely fuel the next rally. Ethereum’s price could retest the overhead resistance near $2,076, followed by the 200 EMA at $2,260.

On the flip side, a potential retest of the broken resistance trendline is possible near the $1,900 mark.

Has Bitcoin Entered a Bear Market? Key Indicators That Hold the Answer

Bitcoin is exhibiting lower volatility than previous weeks, posting a paltry 0.23% gain in the last 24 hours.

This flat performance comes as market participants anticipate Bitcoin’s next moves. Some believe a bear market is already upon us, while others remain bullish.

Amid this, prominent market watcher Ali Martinez conducted a deep dive and explored major market indicators to determine whether the market has indeed shifted into a bear season.

Major Signals for a Bear Market

First, Martinez pointed out that several indicators suggest Bitcoin is undergoing a shift in its macro trend. One such indicator is the Inter-Exchange Flow Pulse, which tracks spot and derivative exchange flows. This indicator confirms that a major corrective phase is currently in progress.

Image

Furthermore, the analyst noted that the MVRV Ratio indicates a shift in Bitcoin’s momentum from positive to negative. He emphasized that changes in MVRV momentum have historically marked significant turning points for Bitcoin.

Additionally, Martinez observed that large investors seem to be exercising caution and actively selling into the market. Specifically, data from CryptoQuant shows that Bitcoin miners have realized over $27 million in profits just this month. Similarly, Bitcoin whales have taken even larger profits, surpassing $260 million in March alone.

Meanwhile, capital inflows have dropped significantly, plummeting from $135 billion in December 2024 to just $4 billion today. According to data from Glassnode, this current low level was last observed in October 2023.

How Low Can Bitcoin Go in a Bear Market?

Amid these concerning observations, Martinez offered insights into potential support levels for Bitcoin’s price. He suggested that the $66,000 to $69,000 range could serve as key support.

The inspiration for these targets came from multiple indicators. First, IntoTheBlock data shows that 750,000 investors purchased 313,000 BTC around the $69,000 mark.

Additionally, Glassnode data highlights Bitcoin’s UTXO Realized Price Distribution, which suggests strong support near $69,354. The Mayer Multiple also points to $66,000 as a significant support level, especially after BTC’s recent dip below the 200-day SMA this month.

For context, Bitcoin is trading at $83,200 as of today. A drop to $66K would mean an additional loss of 20.67%. Already, Bitcoin has plummeted by 23.76% from its all-time high.

Meanwhile, Martinez suggested that even lower Bitcoin prices are still possible. He pointed to a historical trend, noting that over the past decade, whenever Bitcoin dropped below the 50-week SMA, it eventually reached the 200-week SMA, which is currently at $46,000. This suggests a potential drop to $46K in a bear market.

Hope for Bitcoin Bulls

Nonetheless, all hope for a Bitcoin recovery is not lost. Martinez pointed to data showing that global liquidity is rising, which has historically been linked to Bitcoin recoveries around mid-April.

In a separate trend, Charles Edwards, founder of Capriole Investments, confirmed that U.S. liquidity might be bottoming out. This is important for Bitcoin because rising liquidity could boost risk markets like crypto, similar to how increased liquidity fueled the 2021 bull run.

Per the chart he shared, liquidity has been flat in the current cycle, contributing to Bitcoin’s struggles.

Martinez suggested that, for now, Bitcoin must reclaim $93,700 as support, as this could pave the way for Bitcoin to reach $111,000.

Here’s Why Not Owning At Least 1,000 XRP is “Insane” According To a Crypto Founder

0

Edoardo Farina, the founder of Alpha Lions Academy, believes holding at least 1,000 XRP is a no-brainer for anyone serious about financial freedom.

In a recent video, he explained why XRP’s potential could be life-changing and why missing out might be a huge mistake. Farina highlighted that having 2,503 XRP puts an investor among the top 10% of XRP wallets. He sees this as highly achievable for most investors today.

Interestingly, recent on-chain data confirms Farina’s estimate. For context, data from the community-driven Rich-list resource indicates that holding exactly 2,502.9 XRP puts one among the top 10 XRP holders. Farina believes every investor should strive to enter this list.

XRP Rich List
XRP Rich List

His argument centers on XRP’s potential to disrupt global finance, especially if it integrates with SWIFT or taps into the derivatives market, which processes around $1.2 quadrillion annually.

Even capturing a small fraction of this could send XRP’s price soaring. Despite widespread pessimism, Farina suggests that prices of $100, $1,000, or even $10,000 per XRP are possible, just as Bitcoin, once considered worthless, surpassed $100,000.

How Much XRP Do You Need to Retire?

Farina then discussed the potential for an investor’s XRP holdings to help them retire. However, the amount of XRP necessary for retirement depends on factors like location and lifestyle. For instance, someone in the U.S. might need more than someone in South America, where currencies are weaker.

Farina gave an example: if XRP hits $100 and you own 1,000 coins, you’ll have $100,000, an amount he considers life-changing in many countries. With 10,000 XRP at the same price, an investor would hold $1 million, presenting them with financial security and flexibility.

According to Farina, a person who understands wealth management could retire comfortably with 10,000 XRP if the price reaches $100. He further argued that financial diversification, particularly through real estate, is important. Instead of selling XRP every month, investors could generate passive income through real estate holdings.

The XRP community pundit stressed that patience is important, noting that even holding 1,000 XRP could be enough to retire if the price eventually reaches an ambitious $10,000. At that level, an investor with 1,000 XRP would be sitting on $10 million.

He also discussed strategies like lending XRP to banks or using automated market makers to generate passive income instead of selling holdings. According to him, investors who cash out too early might regret missing out on greater gains later.

Why Many Will Miss Out

Notably, most people don’t have significant savings. Farina stressed that in wealthy nations like the U.S., many Americans don’t even have $10,000 in their bank accounts.

Given this reality, he believes accumulating 10,000 XRP is a realistic goal that could help investors attain financial independence. “Not owning at least 1,000 XRP is the definition of insanity,” he said on X.

He pointed to when XRP traded above $3, noting that he didn’t sell because he was diversified in other assets. However, Farina acknowledged that selling a portion of holdings could be necessary for those under financial stress.

He compared today’s XRP market to Bitcoin in 2012 when prices were below $500. Notably, Farina pointed out that if investors had known Bitcoin would hit $100,000, they would have worked hard to accumulate as much as possible. He believes the same opportunity exists with XRP.

Cardano Social Sentiments Hits Highest Bullish Level in 4 Months, Will Prices Follow?

0

Social sentiments around the Cardano ecosystem have reached exceptionally bullish levels amid speculations about the network’s role in the United States.

Cardano and XRP remain the only assets named in the US crypto strategic reserve on March 2 that have some gains from the announcement in the tanks. ADA saw the most bullish reaction on the day, surging over 53%, compared to lighter upsides from the other four assets.

Despite pulling back considerably from the high of $1.175, the asset remains above the lows of $0.645, which it consolidated around prior to the announcement. Meanwhile, other bullish developments around the Cardano ecosystem have turned earlier skepticism into positive sentiments.

Social Crowd Sentiments Turns Positive

Before now, Cardano was among the most despised blue-chip assets in the crypto ecosystem. Founder Charles Hoskinson and analyst Ali Martinez identified this negative sentiment around ADA price, with the former bemoaning that the misconception has reached epic levels.

However, the tides have changed with recent bullish price actions and growing relevance in the space. Data from the market intelligence platform Santiment identified the growing positive sentiments around ADA on social media.

In a commentary today, the resource noted that there are 3.5 positive comments on social media per one negative remark on ADA, the highest since the first week of November. Santiment suggested that the recent speculations of Cardano’s role in the US government have aided this enthusiasm.

Cardano Crowd Sentiment/Santiment

For perspective, speculations made the rounds over the weekend that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has revealed the roles of specific blockchains in the US pro-crypto government. The alleged release noted, among other things, that Cardano would serve as the smart contract network for government services.

Notably, these speculations remain unconfirmed at the time of writing.

Will Prices Follow?

Meanwhile, research shows that social sentiments around an underlying asset indirectly impact prices. A positive community disposition attracts more investors, fueling demand. Furthermore, some market participants use hypes around digital currencies to make investment decisions.

Solana’s steep decline as social sentiments turned sour exemplifies how the community disposition can affect an asset. The asset relinquished its earlier gains this month and has corrected 14% since the meme coin fallout spread skepticism around the Solana ecosystem.

Moreover, analysts remain upbeat about an imminent bullish Cardano price action, with recent positive sentiments emerging as a possible catalyst. One such bullish disposition comes from commentator CryptoELITES, who predicted a 12x surge in ADA’s price, citing a breakout from a bullish cup-and-handle pattern.

At the time of writing, Cardano trades at $0.711, up 1.28% in the past 24 hours.

Here is The Key Structure for XRP to Rally 12,021% to $280 in 2025 From Top Analyst

XRP could be on the verge of a historic breakout, according to crypto analyst Dark Defender, who is forecasting an ambitious 12,021% price rally.

In a recent post, Dark Defender compared XRP’s current price structure to its 2017 cycle. He suggested that the asset may be following a similar trajectory that led to its all-time high.

Key Historical Structure Resurfacing

A chart shared by Dark Defender highlights two major consolidation patterns—one from 2014 to 2017 and another from 2020 to 2024. Both patterns show a triangular formation with Fibonacci retracements, followed by a strong breakout.

According to Dark Defender’s chart, the volume during the current cycle is approximately four times higher than in 2017. This suggests increased market activity, with the potential for stronger upside momentum.

In 2017, XRP’s breakout from its accumulation phase resulted in an explosive rally. Its price jumped from fractions of a cent to an all-time high of $3.84 by January 2018. Notably, Dark Defender’s chart shows that XRP spent 42 months, or 1,280 days, in consolidation with a volume of 28.54 million before breaking out in 2017.

In contrast, the current consolidation phase has lasted 51 months, or 1,553 days, with volume surging to 110.97 billion. This indicates significantly higher market participation in this cycle.

XRP Road to a 12,021% Surge

In the ongoing phase, a major breakout began in late 2024, with XRP rallying near its 2018 peak by January 2025. XRP is now in a mini consolidation phase. For context, a similar situation also occurred in the previous cycle.

In the past cycle, XRP first saw a giant uptrend for three months before consolidating for six months. Then, another major breakout drove the price to the cycle peak. In the present cycle, XRP experienced just one giant monthly green candle but has been consolidating for four months and counting.

Dark Defender’s chart projects that if 2025 fully repeats, the next rally could push XRP significantly higher, with projections on the chart reaching as much as $280 in a long-term scenario.

At press time, XRP is trading at $2.31. Reaching $280 would represent a 12,021% surge from current levels.

Caution on XRP Outlook

While the technical setup looks promising, the analyst included a disclaimer stating that these targets are speculative and are not financial advice.

Moreover, some market commentators have argued that XRP’s 2017 chart patterns are no longer relevant in projecting XRP’s future movements. They believe current structures have deviated from the historic 2017 trend.

“We Want as Much Bitcoin as We Can Get”: Trump’s Crypto Executive Director

0

Bo Hines, President Trump’s Executive Director on Digital Assets, has revealed that the U.S. government wants as much Bitcoin as it can procure.

Hines made this statement while speaking on the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR) created by President Donald Trump. For context, the president signed an executive order on March 6 mandating the creation of a crypto stockpile for altcoins and a Strategic Reserve for Bitcoin.

However, the order confirmed that the government would not procure any more tokens for the crypto stockpile, which will only contain assets it already holds through confiscations and forfeitures. Further, it indicated that it would only employ “budget-neutral” means to purchase more BTC for the SBR.

Hines: Trump Kept His Promise on SBR

Amid this declaration, concerns surrounding the government’s intentions to add to the SBR emerged. In his recent remarks on this order, Hines cleared the air while speaking at the Digital Assets Summit in New York.

He noted that President Trump’s executive order to create the Bitcoin reserve fulfilled the promises he made on the campaign trail. Recall that Trump, while campaigning for his second term in office, promised the Bitcoin community that he would fire former SEC Chair Gary Gensler and create a Bitcoin reserve.

With Gensler out and the Bitcoin reserve formed, the administration has kept to these promises, as pointed out by Hines. The executive director also highlighted that the government created the reserve in a way that respects Bitcoin’s unique state in the crypto market by setting up a different reserve solely for the premier asset.

“We look at Bitcoin—it’s not a security; it’s a commodity. It has intrinsic store of value, it’s traditionally accepted. It has […] the immaculate conception [as] there is no issuer. That’s why in the executive order, we compared it to digital gold,” Hines remarked.

Considering its unique and promising features, Hines emphasized that it is “imperative” that the United States “has, retain and continue to build on” Bitcoin. This is in contrast to the former administration’s approach, which liquidated its BTC holdings, leading to over $17 billion in losses.

“We Want as Much Bitcoin as We Can Get”

Hines then spoke on the executive order’s use of the term “budget-neutral” ways. According to him, the primary aim is for the president to start accumulating assets instead of liquidating them, and President Trump is looking to do this.

He then noted: “We are looking forward to working with our partners at Treasury and the Secretary of Commerce in order to define those budget-neutral ways in which we can acquire more.”

Hines noted that he has received questions about how much Bitcoin the government would want to have as this purchase campaign kicks off. He likened this question to asking a country how much gold it would like. “As much as we can get,” he concluded.

Notably, following Trump’s executive order, which mandated the procurement of BTC through budget-neutral ways, Senator Cynthia Lummis re-introduced her BITCOIN Act to secure the existence of the Bitcoin reserve behind Trump’s administration and push toward amassing 1 million BTC.

How Soon Could Dogecoin Price Reach $1, $5 and $10: Here are Potential Timelines

0

Despite the ongoing Dogecoin price crash, several market commentators are confident that the meme coin could reach lofty targets in the future.

Notably, Dogecoin has witnessed massive price declines since reaching the three-year peak of $0.4843 in December 2024. The meme coin has only observed corrections this year, down 45.30% year-to-date and 64% from the December 2034 peak.

Lofty Dogecoin Targets

Despite the bearish performance, some analysts believe a much-needed rebound could lead to ambitious price targets for Dogecoin. The Crypto Basic has reported a few of these projections, calling attention to market analyst Chandler’s prediction of a potential $1 price for Dogecoin last month. In January, another analyst, Trader Tardigrade, argued that a $1 Dogecoin price is reasonable.

Besides the $1 target, others have predicted Dogecoin price could reach higher regions like $5. Late last month, market watcher CryptoELITES predicted DOGE to claim $5 amid a bullish cup-and-handle structure. Also, Ali Martinez noted last month that as long as DOGE held above the $0.19 level, a run to $10 was possible.

So far, the meme coin has dropped below this support, as of trades for $0.17, introducing a new wave of bearish sentiment. Nonetheless, if it recovers and maintains the $0.19 support, bullish prospects could be rekindled. Despite this, the timelines for reaching any of these targets remain uncertain.

Timelines for Dogecoin Price to Hit $1, $5 and $10

As a result, The Crypto Basic sought opinions from leading AI chatbot ChatGPT, which considered past trends and market dynamics for its response.

According to ChatGPT, the $1 price target is the most realistic for Dogecoin. For context, Dogecoin price would need to rally by only 488% to reach $1. ChatGPT expects this price to materialize between 2025 and 2027 if the bull run resumes with a surge in meme coin hype or Dogecoin adoption.

Meanwhile, for the $5 target, which demands a more substantial 2,841% increase from current levels, ChatGPT presents a much higher timeframe. It believes this target is achievable between 2029 and 2035, essentially within 5 to 10 years. ChatGPT cited institutional interest, massive utility, and mass adoption as possible catalysts.

Turning to the $10 goal, the AI chatbot called it a “long shot” except Dogecoin sees upgrades that could position it as a global payment system. Notably, Dogecoin price will need to rise 5,782% to hit $10. ChatGPT predicts this might take at least 10 years, predicting a timeline of 2035 and beyond.

Interestingly, analysts at Changelly share similar sentiments with a few variations. Their Dogecoin price prediction table shows that they expect the meme coin to claim $1 by 2030, in the next five years. This is less optimistic than ChatGPT’s 2025 to 2027 timeline.

Further, Changelly analysts believe DOGE would claim the $5 mark by June 2034, aligning with ChatGPT’s prediction. However, for the $10 target, the analysts failed to provide a particular year, expecting it to occur between 2034 and 2040.

Top Analyst Says XRP Bottom is In, “Send It Higher”

While XRP continues to trade near the $2 mark, a crypto analyst has suggested that the altcoin may have reached its bottom with a potential price surge ahead.

Analyst Steph shared this perspective in a post on X. He revealed a chart highlighting a historical pattern where XRP’s price rebounded following key RSI movements.

Image
XRP chart by Steph

Key Observations in the Chart

The chart indicates that XRP’s relative strength index (RSI) had been in a downtrend for the past two months. During this time, it formed a falling wedge pattern. However, data confirms it has now broken out of the downward trend, signaling potential strength.

Notably, this latest move aligns with past bullish reversals. In particular, each time the RSI reached oversold levels and reversed, XRP’s price pumped hard. Previous instances, marked by green circles on the chart, show how similar conditions led to strong breakouts. A key example was in November 2024 when XRP saw a nearly 6X price surge.

“XRP Bottom Is In”

Now, with the latest observation of XRP’s RSI breaking out of a descending trendline, Steph boldly stated that XRP has reached its bottom in the ongoing crypto market downturn. His statement suggests that XRP may not fall below the low of $1.90, which it witnessed on March 11.

“XRP bottom is in. Send it higher,” he wrote, suggesting that XRP may be gearing up for a major rally.

Notably, XRP has recovered slightly from the $1.90 bottom, trading new $2.50 a few days later. However, it has been struggling to maintain this uptrend. At press time, XRP has posted a 2.5% dip today, trading at $2.29.

How High Could XRP Go When Bulls Are Back?

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Steph has called attention to XRP potentially reaching a bottom. In an earlier analysis, he pointed to the Stochastic RSI showing an oversold condition for XRP and suggested a bold double-digit price target as the next goal.

According to him, whenever the Stochastic RSI dipped into oversold territory and flipped bullish, it marked the exact bottom for XRP.

Based on historical patterns, he argues that XRP could see a 500% rally once again, reaching as high as $13 to $14. He acknowledges that this projection is speculative. Yet, Steph emphasizes that if history repeats itself, XRP could pump hard in a very short time.

Remarkably, Steph has even called for a $30 price for XRP in a separate analysis.

XRP Now at the End of a Wyckoff Re-accumulation: Here’s When a Breakout Could Occur

0

XRP has recently entered the end stage of a Wyckoff Re-accumulation schematic, with a break toward the upside now looking likely.

Market strategist Steph (@Steph_iscrypto) called attention to the current market condition in his latest XRP analysis. For the uninitiated, the Wyckoff Re-accumulation schematic is an uptrend consolidation phase where strong hands absorb supply as prices trade in a range before the next move higher.

XRP Within Wyckoff Re-accumulation Schematic

Data from the daily XRP chart shows that the altcoin trades within this pattern. According to Steph, this began in late 2024 amid the upsurge triggered by Donald Trump’s re-election. For context, XRP witnessed a massive run from November 2024 to January 2025, breaching the $2 and $3 levels.

XRP in Wyckoff Re accumulation Schematic
XRP in Wyckoff Re accumulation Schematic | Steph

This essentially marked the first stage of the Wyckoff Re-accumulation schematic, which represents a strong uptrend. However, after hitting a seven-year peak of $3.4 in mid-January, XRP entered a consolidation phase. This consolidation has persisted due to the broader market’s turbulence.

Steph suggested that in this re-accumulation pattern, the market essentially shakes away the weak hands before the next upsurge. Despite a flood of bullish and bearish news, XRP has maintained a range of $2 to $3.3 since late 2024. This confirms that the asset is maintaining the Wyckoff Re-accumulation structure.

However, XRP remains at risk of breaking the structure amid current market conditions, particularly if bearish pressure intensifies. According to Steph, XRP must avoid a weekly or monthly candle close below support around the $1.9 to $2 range to maintain its position within the Wyckoff Re-accumulation schematic.

Nonetheless, the market watcher is confident that a break to the upside is more likely. “As long as we don’t close any weekly candles or monthly candles below the support, I’m still extremely bullish and I’m focused on the upside,” he commented.

Wen Breakout?

He then pointed out that XRP has scaled through the consolidation and might be at the end of the schematic. Notably, this is particularly bullish, suggesting that a break above the range-bound structure could be imminent. Steph believes this could lead to “a massive breakout.”

The analyst then proposed when this breakout could occur. According to him, the market would confirm this bullish breakthrough when XRP closes a daily candle above $2.9.

Notably, XRP attempted to engineer this run earlier this month when it closed on March 2 at $2.9 following Trump’s reserve announcement. However, the bearish pressure from the broader market led to a massive 18.83% drop the next day. This essentially foiled the original breakout plans.

As a result, it is important to note that XRP would need strength from the rest of the market to witness this breakout. Steph confirmed that the asset currently changes hands at $2.31. Nonetheless, he pointed out that the weekly Stock RSI is set to record a bullish crossover, a development that could trigger the next bullish run.

Crypto Firms Are Eying Bank Charters Under Trump: Report

0

Several crypto firms are looking to become state or national banks under the Trump administration.

Under the pro-crypto administration of President Donald Trump, the crypto industry hopes to achieve unprecedented growth, and one way industry participants may be exploring is by becoming banks.

Crypto Firms Working on Bank Charter Applications

Several crypto firms are looking to become state or national banks under the Trump administration.

This is according to a Tuesday, March 18, Reuters report citing over six anonymous executives and several regulatory lawyers.

According to the latter, there has been an uptick in bank charter application discussions with clients “cautiously optimistic” of approval under Trump.

With bank charters, these crypto firms hope to bolster their legitimacy in the eyes of customers and bring down certain operating costs. For one, borrowing will become much easier for these firms as they can just reach into customer deposits.

While this transition carries what some might see as burdensome regulatory scrutiny and applications are notoriously slow to process, crypto firms are likely banking on Trump’s pro-innovation stance to usher in a wave of deregulation.

These firms have also likely been encouraged by statements from Trump’s regulatory appointees. Specifically, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Acting Chair Travis Hill and Federal Reserve Governor and Trump nominee for vice chair for supervision have called for a more streamlined bank charter application process.

The recent Reuters report follows reports that Trump is on the verge of signing an executive order to roll back rules that made it difficult for crypto firms to access banking services. These reports also suggested that the executive order will push the Federal Reserve to grant crypto banks master accounts.
