Shytoshi Kusama has been listed among the 50 most influential people in crypto this year for his efforts in transforming Shiba Inu into a real decentralized finance player.

In a startling development, Shiba Inu’s lead developer Shytoshi Kusama appeared on the list of 50 Most Influential People, a list compiled and presented annually by popular media outlet CoinDesk.

Aside from Kusama, other prominent crypto players that made the list include Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, Messari CEO Ryan Selkis, and SEC chair Gary Gensler.

Shiba Inu Lead Recognized

CoinDesk recognized Kusama for transforming Shiba Inu from a speculative crypto token into a key decentralized finance (DeFi) player.

Notably, CoinDesk published an article highlighting Kusama’s efforts in building Shiba Inu into a force to reckon with in the Web3 and DeFi sectors.

The media outlet praised Kusama for leading Shiba Inu’s team of developers to create a perpetual, decentralized network state” that is focused on dominating the DeFi sector of the crypto industry.

One of Kusama’s achievements this year include the launch of the highly-anticipated L2 scaling solution, Shibarium, in August.

Following the launch of Shibarium, the media outlet pointed out that Kusama and his team of developers expanded the token’s use case to a means of settlement on the network.

Furthermore, it also listed other prominent Shiba Inu projects unveiled this year, including ShibaCals and The Shib Magazine

Kusama Dedicates Award to Shiba Inu Community

As expected, Kusama and other Shiba Inu team members expressed excitement while reacting to the development.

In a tweet yesterday, Shiba Inu’s lead developer expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing that he did not receive the award for himself but dedicated it to Shiba Inu community members.

His decision to dedicate the award to Shiba Inu community members stems from the unending support SHIB enthusiasts gave to developers this year.

It is worth mentioning that the community threw its weight behind developers, countering all FUDs (Fear, Uncertainty, and doubts) targeting Shiba Inu and luring new investors into the cryptocurrency’s ecosystem.

With CoinDesk recognizing Kusama as one of the 50 most influential people in the crypto space, the lead developer jokingly hoped the media outlet would follow his account on the X (formerly Twitter) platform.

Interestingly, the crypto media outlet granted Kusama’s request by following him on X.
