The Community-led burning project tagged “1Cent” burned the most Shiba Inu in the past 24 hours. The mysterious wallet stood second in the list of “Top SHIB Burners of the Day.”

1Cent:

1Cent organized its Weekly Burn Event on Monday, August 29th, and destroyed a total of 90,648,714 (90.64M) SHIB in one significant transaction. The project shared a Burn Transaction link with the Community as a “Proof of Burn”.

The project’s official website claims that the 1Cent token has permanently removed a whopping total of 2,983,469,032 (2.98B) SHIB from circulation in 26 separate transactions since March 14th.

The Mysterious Wallet:

On the other hand, Etherscan.io data reports that the mysterious wallet has sent a total of 84,469,317 (84.46M) to the dead wallets in two separate transactions. The mysterious wallet carried the first transaction almost 17 hours ago and destroyed 71,117,329 (71.11M) SHIB. Just after a minute, the wallet performed a second transaction and incinerated another 13,351,988 (13.35M) SHIB.

Impact on SHIB Price:

Since the Community’s interest in burning the most popular canine-themed cryptocurrency rises once again, the price of Shiba Inu has surged more than 5% over the last day to $0.00001257, with a 24-hour trading volume of $382,579,767 ($382.57M).

Ethereum Founder Reminds Node Operators To Upgrade Their Clients As Developers Make Final Preparations For Merge

0

Node operators must upgrade their clients in preparation for a September 6 upgrade on the Beacon chain before The Merge.

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin took to Twitter earlier today to remind node operators to upgrade their clients now, noting that while The Merge is scheduled to go live from September 10 to September 20, clients have to be upgraded for the September 6 upgrade on the Beacon chain.

“Reminder: even though the merge is coming around Sep 10-20, the beacon chain hard fork is on Sep 6. Make sure to update your clients before then!” Buterin wrote.

Last Wednesday, The Crypto Basic reported that the Ethereum team had disclosed that The Merge would happen in two phases. The first phase is the Bellatrix upgrade to be carried out at epoch 144896 on Ethereum’s proof-of-stake (PoS) Beacon chain. The second is the Paris Upgrade which will trigger The Merge after a Terminal Total Difficulty level of 58750000000000000000000 has been achieved.

The Merge is an Ethereum upgrade that will see the network migrate from the proof-of-work (PoW) consensus mechanism to proof-of-stake (PoS). The move will drastically reduce the network’s carbon footprint while also altering its supply and demand dynamics, making it deflationary.

Investor Outlook

However, as recently reported by Bloomberg, Ethereum investors appear to have a divided outlook on the outcome of The Merge. The piece reveals that most retail traders expect a price correction in the asset following The Merge. Consequently, retail traders on several platforms are selling. However, institutional investors are accumulating, taking advantage of the opportunity to pick up the asset at lower prices.

Meanwhile, Crypto analyst CryptoWhale in a recent newsletter, says he expects The Merge to backfire. The analyst notes that The Merge fails to fix several issues associated with the Ethereum network. In addition, CryptoWhale says that the overarching macroeconomic outlook, combined with the perceived bearishness of whales, does not bode well for the asset’s price, adding that he expects to see it go below the $300 price point.

On the other hand, controversial BitMex founder Arthur Hayes has noted that he expects The Merge to eventually push the price of Ethereum up to the $5,000 price point. According to Hayes, it is unlikely that Ethereum holders will “sell the news” as Ethereum becomes deflationary post-Merge in what Lark Davis has described as the Ethereum triple halving.

Ethereum is trading at the $1,579.60 price point, up 8.75% in the last 24 hours. The asset has rallied in recent months as speculation around The Merge heightened. However, in recent weeks, macroeconomic concerns and the possibility of a post-Merge price correction have led to price slumps.

Shiba Inu Adds New Teams to Its ‘SHIB: The Metaverse’ And Allows Community Participation To Build Further

0

Shiba Inu has made another addition of new members to the metaverse project.

As part of efforts to set up the core structure of SHIB: The Metaverse, Shiba Inu disclosed in a blog post today that it has created two additional teams.

The newly established teams will play an integral role as an intermediary between the Shiba Inu community and core executives of the canine-themed project.

“We are happy to introduce to the community the formation of an additional dedicated team who will aid in being the eyes, ears, and voice of the community to relay community questions, concerns, and views,” Shiba Inu said.

The rationale behind creating the new teams is to establish a connection among all existing SHIB: The Metaverse structures, including Shiba Inu lead developers, expert advisors, and the AAA Studio.

Details of the Newly Created Teams

Per the announcement, the first team created by Shiba Inu is dubbed Shib: Creative, Innovation, Community Feedback/Broadcast Aid. Notably, the members of this team are also known as the Defense Team members. Members of the group include popular Shiba Inu influencers, including Trophias, U B, and Stixil.

The second team created is called Shib: Intake, Marketing, Sponsorships/Partnerships Aid. This group will also be referred to as the SHIB Growth team. Its members include famous SHIB influencer Milkshake, Baysed, and FIRSTWORD.

Both teams will be responsible for being “the eyes, ears, and voice of the community” to communicate all SHIBArmy concerns, views, and questions to the core team.

Shiba Inu Puts Community First

Shiba Inu recognizes the importance of community feedback and has taken a major step toward ensuring that it has a better understanding of the needs of the SHIBArmy and how best to serve them.

The teams’ major focus will center on SHIB: The Metaverse, which still seems complex to many Shiba Inu enthusiasts.

“We will be sharing [details of the metaverse project with the community, and helping to get people fully involved in the process. This will be via dedicated channels on Discord. First, the community will need to understand the feel, the design, and the inspiration of the world,” Shiba Inu added.

Community Projects

Shiba Inu team wants to include the community in building Metaverse by allowing community projects. The team invites ideas and projects to help SHIB metaverse grow further. For that purpose, Shib is launching an online form that will allow users to sign up for their project for SHIB Metaverse.

“Community Projects will have a great developmental space that is dedicated for them as well to coordinate delivery of such projects and start things in the right direction, alongside the SHIB The Metaverse Team.”

Shiba Inu Adds Professionals to Its Metaverse Team

In recent times, Shiba Inu has been toward ensuring that SHIB: The Metaverse has a smooth ride. Thus, prompting the addition of professionals will drive the project’s growth.

The second-largest canine-themed crypto project has inked key partnerships with major firms, including THIRD FLOOR, toward achieving this goal.

As reported by TheCryptoBasic, Shiba Inu onboarded Marcie Jastrow and Sherri Cuono into its metaverse advisory team.

Another Dormant 5K Bitcoin On Move After 7 Years, 10K In 24 Hours, “Experienced Market Participant Getting Out?”

0

5000 Bitcoin 7 To 10 Years Old Is On The Move Again.

Bitcoin whale moves 5k BTC again. In the latest CryptoQuant Quicktake market analyst Maartun reveals that he has discovered an identical transaction of 5000 BTC of the same age as the one carried out on Sunday.

“another 5.000 $BTC moved one block ago. The Bitcoin is the same age as yesterday (7y ~ 10y), making it an identical transaction,” Maartun writes.

He further says:

“it’s hard to say if it’s the same market participant. This makes it no incident, but truly an experienced market participant who wants to get out.”

As Reported By The Crypto Basic, 5000 Bitcoins were moved yesterday.

While Maartun does not confirm if the transactions are from the same market participant, it is worth noting that a user in the comments shares a wallet address whose transaction data matches that described by Maartun in both Quicktakes. Notably, after receiving the 5000 BTC on Sunday, the address appears to have transferred it out again.

It bears mentioning that Wu Blockchain has also been monitoring the transactions. In a tweet yesterday, the Twitter account run by crypto reporter Colin Wu identifies the source of the transaction, which shows that the 5k BTC has been dormant since 2013, confirming the age as nine years. Furthermore, Wu reveals that there are three other Bitcoin addresses of the same origin, with two holding 5000 BTC and one having about 6,071 BTC. Notably, one of the accounts holding 5000 BTC sent it out today. But, again, the recipient address sent it out shortly after receiving it.

While the reasons for this sudden whale activity are unknown, Maartun noted in his previous Quicktake that such transactions in the past have led to market consolidation or price correction. However, the analyst notes that this transaction differs from others this year as the Bitcoins have not been sent to exchanges.

It is worth noting that the crypto markets have shown some signs of resilience after a weekend full of panic. Bitcoin has reclaimed the $20k price point, while Ethereum has reclaimed the $1,500 price point.

While the general outlook of the crypto markets remains uncertain, several analysts are now giving room to the narrative that Bitcoin could crash as low as $10k before it rises to create new highs.

One of Three Requirements For Vasil Launch Met, As 75% Cardano Blocks Are Now Created by Vasil-friendly Nodes

0

Cardano developers are making major progress toward launching Vasil on mainnet.

Input Output Global (IOG), Cardano’s research and development arm, has continued to make significant progress toward the launch of the long-awaited upgrade Vasil.

The IOG noted in a statement that it completed one of the major requirements for the Vasil mainnet launch over the weekend. According to the IOG, 75% of Cardano’s mainnet blocks were successfully minted by the chosen Vasil node candidate, node 1.35.3.

“The Cardano Stake Pool Operators (SPO) community has been busy over the weekend. And we’re delighted to report that more than 75% blocks are now being minted by nodes supporting 1.35.3,” the IOG said in a statement.

Two More Hurdles Left

Following the development, Cardano completed one of the three important criteria needed for Vasil mainnet deployment.

Other important criteria necessary for the Vasil mainnet launch include getting approximately 25 cryptocurrency exchanges to upgrade to node 1.35.3.

Additionally, the top 10 Cardano-based decentralized applications (dApps) with the highest total value locked (TVL) will also be required to upgrade to node 1.35.3 on the PreProduction network before Vasil finally goes live.

Top exchanges like Binance, KUcoin, CryptoCom, HitBTC, and Kraken have started the integration process.

Ripple General Counsel Slams SEC For Prioritizing Protecting Its Turf At the Expense of American Crypto Investors

0

Ripple’s General Counsel joins other crypto stakeholders to comment on SEC Chair’s Op-Ed article.

Stuart Alderoty, the General Counsel at Ripple, is the latest cryptocurrency enthusiast to comment on SEC’s Gary Gensler’s Wall Street Journal (WSJ) Op-Ed article.

According to Alderoty, Gensler’s recent Op-Ed article suggests that the Securities and Exchange Commission does not care about American cryptocurrency investors, but rather its personal goal. He blasted the SEC for prioritizing the protection of its turf at the expense of more than 40 million American investors in crypto.

“What we need is regulatory clarity for crypto, not the SEC swinging its billy club to protect its turf at the expense of the more than 40 million Americans in the crypto economy,” Alderoty said in a statement.

Alderoty noted that Gensler indirectly appointed the SEC as the frontrunner regulator for the cryptocurrency industry while relegating other federal agencies like Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

He added that Gensler’s assertion is also an affront to President Joe Biden’s cryptocurrency executive order released in March, where he directed all federal agencies to collaborate and provide a clear regulatory framework for the emerging assets.

Notably, this is not the first time Gensler will be slamming the SEC for its regulatory tactics. As reported by TheCryptoBasic, Alderoty described SEC’s lawsuit against Ripple as a rug pull on XRP investors, following the massive dip of the coin’s value after the charges were filed.

Russia To Legalize Bitcoin And Other Cryptocurrencies As Means Of Payment

0

The war between Russia and Ukraine has impacted the Cryptocurrency market negatively. There have been lots of sanctions on Russia by the United States, United Kingdom, and the European Union and it has affected the Russians’ economy negatively. The Russians’ Minister of Trade and Industry has revealed that the legalization of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin as a means of payment will be very soon. How will the acceptance of cryptocurrency have an impact on the Russians’ economy? Russia supplies the European Union with 40% of its gas.

A few months ago, Russia considered accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment for oil and gas exportation. The Bitcoin price live is $29,249.74 on the Gate.io global cryptocurrency exchange platform at press time. The price is down by 3.19% in the last 24-hours. You can view the trading chart of BTC/USDT as well as other trading pairs with BTC. Russia has been home to cryptocurrencies and the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has been a supporter of cryptocurrency despite the Bank of Russia’s proposal to ban Bitcoin mining and cryptocurrency trading.

The Future Of Cryptocurrencies And Bitcoin In Russia

Russia has been a key player in Bitcoin mining, according to Cambridge University figures that show the country is a powerhouse in the field of crypto mining. In August 2021, Russia accounted for about 11% of the global processing power used for minting new units of bitcoin, according to the Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance, making it the third-biggest mining hub after Kazakhstan then. But a new report that was released in May as of the time of writing this article, shows that Russia has dropped from the top three mining hubs in the world. Could this be a result of the Russia-Ukraine invasion?

According to the data from Cambridge Center For Alternative Finance (CCFAF), the United State of America is leading with a 37.8% hash rate, followed by the second-largest Bitcoin hub China, despite the ban of cryptocurrency activities in 2021 by the government of China, who is leading by 21.1%, and this is followed by Kazakhstan whose BTC hash rate dropped from 18% to 13.2% between the months of August to January. The fourth and the fifth Bitcoin hub are now Canada and Russia respectively with a hash rate of 6.5% and 4.7% respectively.

So Russia has seen a major decline from its third position as the top three biggest mining hubs with the BTC hash rate of 13.6 EH/s last August to 8.6 EH/s. Could this decline be attributed to the current Russia-Ukraine invasion? Can we say, war negatively impacts the general cryptocurrency market? You can learn more about Bitcoin as a means of payment on the buy/sell crypto at Gate.io cryptocurrency exchange.

Shiba Inu’s BONE enjoys a massive rally after a top exchange lists the token.

BONE, the native governance token of Shiba Inu’s decentralized exchange Shibaswap, is having an impressive rally today as Dubai and Saint Vincent-based BlueBit.io added support for Shiba Inu (SHIB).

According to data from crypto data aggregator platform CoinMarketCap, BONE is up 53% in the hours leading to press time.

The massive rally of BONE surprises many investors, given that the token was initially changing hands at around $1.06 earlier today.

EMURGO Ventures Invests Undisclosed Sum in DoraHacks to Fund Global Hackathons for Cardano.

EMURGO Ventures, the investment arm of Cardano partner EMURGO, has announced that it has invested an undisclosed amount in Web3 hackathon organizer DoraHacks.

According to an announcement today, the funding will be used to host global hackathons for the Cardano ecosystem. Furthermore, part of the fund will also be used to identify co-investment opportunities into high-potential decentralized applications (dApps) that are in synergy with Cardano’s blockchain via DoraHacks’ DAO-as-a-service infrastructure, DoraFactory.

Kaimin Hu, Venture Partner at EMURGO Ventures, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with DoraHacks, adding:

“We expect this investment to drive and scale Cardano’s Web3 developer community through co-hosting hackathons, bringing more funding and technological resources to Cardano’s decentralized funding programs for Cardano devs, and ultimately accelerate Cardano’s Web3 in the years to come.”

Also commenting on the development is Steve Ngok, Partner at DoraHacks, who said:

“DoraHacks is pleased to team up with EMURGO Ventures to bring innovation to the Cardano ecosystem. This long-term partnership entails both parties joining forces on future hackathons, community grant programs, bounties, and curation of brilliant teams that will play crucial roles in the Cardano universe.”

Web3 Projects Sees Cardano as a Suitable Destination

Many companies consider Cardano as a suitable destination for their web3 projects. As reported by TheCryptoBasic, prominent American rapper Snoop Dogg partnered with Cardano-based Clay Mates to launch his digital collectible.

In a recent press release, Animation.com announced launching its non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace on the Cardano blockchain.

“Animation.com is excited to announce that its marketplace is now open for all artists and collectors to sell and purchase NFTs powered by the popular open-source, decentralized Cardano blockchain.”

Spike in Web3 Fundings

The announcement is the latest VC funding in the Web3 sector. As enthusiasm in the sector heightens, billions of dollars have been invested in various Web3 projects over the years.

In 2020, blockchain and Web3 funding sat at around $3 billion. Interestingly, a year later, the amount invested in these sectors surged to more than $25 billion, suggesting rising interest in Web3 and blockchain among corporate and institutional investors.

Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has been a major investor in web3 technologies. In May 2022, the company announced a $4.5 billion fund exclusive for web3-related projects, with one-third of the fund committed to seed deals.

The Biggest Amounts of Cash Lost with Bitcoin

0

Since cryptocurrencies are decentralized, protecting them is the responsibility of their owners. No government agency or private company can help you recover the password to your digital wallet.

The New York Times reports that 20% of all Bitcoins are missing from cold storage. This is helping to drive up the price of the remaining Bitcoins. These dollars disappear as rapidly as people delete old emails and photos.

So, let’s take a look at the 5 biggest Bitcoin-related financial disasters – which will show you why it’s always wise to get the best crypto currency wallet in 2022.

The Curious Case of Bitcoin’s Founder

Satoshi Nakamoto, the enigmatic Bitcoin creator, is reportedly pretty wealthy. Is there a rationale behind Satoshi’s decision to quit using Bitcoin after it gained popularity?

Satoshi reportedly has 1.1 million Bitcoins as of 2022, yet this amount may be higher. Satoshi’s budgetary priorities are a mystery. This would cause significant volatility in Bitcoin.

The mysterious man who created Bitcoin is a selfless idealist who has never handled any of the currency but is nonetheless vital to its history, values, and legacy. Nobody may ever know what became of Satoshi’s private keys.

If Satoshi were to receive his Bitcoins back, he would likely become one of the world’s wealthiest people.

Not Knowing Where Your Key Is

The story about Stefan Thomas has been in the news for years now. The coder forgot the password to his $220 million Bitcoin wallet. Stefan started buying and selling with Bitcoin in 2011 and currently possesses 7,002.

Stefan protected his Bitcoins with the help of an IronKey. He could only make ten attempts to access the flash disk if he forgot the password.

Stefan tried to break into his USB storage eight times before turning to social media and other news outlets. He allowed the would-be decryptors two tries before giving up. Stefan “accepts” that he will never get a return on his investment.

A Wanted Poster With a 25% Reward

Like Stefan Thomas, James Howells lost 7,500 BTC in 2013 after he carelessly disposed of an outdated laptop containing his cryptocurrency. The hard drive was home to the digital wallet.

James offered to give the Welsh municipal officials 25% of the cash in his dormant wallet if they could help him find the laptop. He gave an additional £50 million to help those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Because of his landfill permit, the Newport City Council forbade James to open his wallet. It would have ramifications on the court system and in the environment. The cost of merely hunting for the wallet alone may be considerable, and there’s no assurance that it will operate or be located.

X Marks the Spot

Hackers uncovered the fifth-largest Bitcoin wallet of 2018, containing 69,000 Bitcoins bought from a dark web vendor. Since then, countless others have used the wallet safely as it was handed around. It was widely believed to be bogus.

In September 2020, the CTO of Hudson Rock tweeted about the wallet. In 2020, Alon told Motherboard’s investigators that it was typical for hackers to buy large wallets on hacker forums and then sell them to other hackers concerned that their technology had been compromised. The U.S. Department of Justice has reportedly claimed control of a Bitcoin wallet via Bitcoin.com.

The person identified only as “X” is the wallet’s rightful possessor. The United States administration is aware of its true identity.

The cryptocurrency exchange Silk Road had its coins stolen, and the blockchain analytics company Chainalysis has the evidence. Ross Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road, claimed to be aware that Individual X had stolen them.
