Two Innovative Real Estate Brands Add Shiba Inu As Payment

0

You Can Now Buy Real Estate Properties Using Shiba Inu (SHIB).

Two innovative consumer real estate brands, Pacaso and Condos.com now accept Shiba Inu (SHIB) payment via BitPay.

BitPay, the world’s leading crypto payment service provider, recently announced that it has partnered with two innovative consumer real estate brands, Pacaso and Condos.com. The partnership will enable people to buy real estate with a few cryptocurrencies, including Shiba Inu (SHIB).

Per the announcement, buyers could use various cryptocurrencies to pay for their second home on Pacaso from October 20, 2022. The second Home is an extra residence, as at beaches, shores, or in the country, where one goes for vacations.

In contrast, Condos customers will be allowed to purchase new and pre-construction condos using the nascent asset class.

Founded by former Zillow executives, Pacaso is the leading real estate platform that helps its clients to buy and co-own a luxury second home at a more affordable price while removing the typical hassles of homeownership. Pacaso reached a $1 billion valuation and achieved a “unicorn” status within six months of launch. Pacaso customers can now co-own homes across the U.S. and Europe in 40 markets.

Condos.com is a global digital marketplace aiming to provide customers with a simple and seamless online condo-buying experience. Condos.com facilitates its clients with an innovative developer-direct online condo sale service, enabling them to search, reserve, and buy properties from their devices. Moreover, the platform offers various investment potential analysis tools to its customers to help them understand the real value of new and pre-construction condos.

Widespread Acceptance of Crypto Payments

The announcement comes as demand for crypto payments has increased over the past few months, prompting more real estate industry companies to integrate cryptos into their payment option. Recently, New York’s Magnum Real Estate allowed its clients to purchase a three-store retail condominium space in Manhattan’s Upper East Side for $29 million in Bitcoin.

New Shiba Inu Whale Born; Adds 3.36 Trillion SHIB in Her First Transaction

Shiba Inu has given birth to a new Whale. The Whale accumulated a herculean 3.36 Trillion SHIB in her first transaction.

Whale Alert reports that 3.3 trillion shib moved from one wallet to another.

Upon examining Etherscan.io, the leading block explorer and analytics platform for Ethereum shows that a brand new whale added a gargantuan 3,363,854,488,205 (3.36T) SHIB, worth $33,672,183 ($33.67M) to her wallet in her first ever transaction executed about 2 hours ago.

Brand New SHIB Whale Accumulated 33.67 Million Worth of Shiba Inu

The significant SHIB accumulation comes after the Shiba Inu burn rate surges 1493% over the past day. The community-led SHIB Burn project dubbed “SHIB Super Store” was responsible for the surge in SHIB burn rate as it has destroyed a staggering 37,843,644 (37.84M) SHIB in one significant transaction using the official SHIB Burn Portal.

On the other hand, Shiba Inu’s mainstream adoption is on the rise. Recently, two innovative consumer real estate brands Pacaso and Condos.com partnered with Bitpay to enable Shiba Inu payments for buying real estate investments.

The massive SHIB accumulation doesn’t have put an immediate impact on Shiba Inu’s price. At press time, Shiba Inu is trading at the price of $0.000009975, up 0.38% over the last day with a 24-hour trading volume of $124,413,695 ($124.41M).

Aave and Tezos become the latest tokens to be listed on Robinhood.

In a tweet today, Robinhood announced that it had listed Aave and Tezos.

“AAVE @AaveAave and XTZ @tezos are now on Robinhood,” the crypto platform said in its announcement.

Notably, the announcement comes two days after the platform disclosed that it was looking to list new tokens.

With the new listings, Robinhood brings its tally of listed crypto assets to 19. Aave and Tezos join recent listings like Cardano’s ADA and Circles USDC, which Robinhood listed at the end of August and in the middle of September, respectively.

Notably, this is big news for both assets as Robinhood is a popular platform due to its zero fees and ease of use. Consequently, it has millions of users.

It is worth noting that there is yet to be a significant price reaction from both tokens to the news. Tezos is trading at the $1.37 price point, down 0.04% in the last hour. At the same time, Aave is trading at the $87.43 price point, down 0.33% in the last hour.

Terra Rebels Say Working On Something Massive For Terra Classic As Gokhshtein Questions “is It Over”

“Working Hard Quietly or is It Over” – Gokhshtein Questions LUNC Community’s Recent Quietude.

David Gokhshtein wonders if the decline in social mentions of Terra Classic (LUNC) indicates an end to the community’s campaign or if proponents are working silently.

The Terra Classic (LUNC) community had positioned itself as one of the most vocal communities within the crypto scene as the campaign for the revival of LUNC gained momentum, with a massive surge in social mentions and the asset’s social dominance.

Notwithstanding, a recent decline in the asset’s social mentions indicates a quietude within the camp. Early critics such as the founder of Gokhshtein Media, David Gokhshtein, wonder if this marks an end to the community’s once-spirited campaign or if they are cooking something behind closed doors.

Gokhshtein who had at the initial stages of the LUNC community’s campaign forecasted a premature demise to the asset’s newly-found rigor, recently pondered aloud if his prediction has materialized.

“LUNC community is a bit quiet now. Working hard quietly behind the scenes or is it over?” Gokhshtein asked in a tweet on Monday, attracting mixed reactions from asset advocates and critics alike.

Several responses have poured in as proponents attempt to air their opinion on the asset weeks after its latest rally. While most critics believe the once-spirited campaign has seen its terminus, members of the LUNC community insist they are still on the campaign to revive the asset, just working quietly.

A proponent, in particular, highlighted that despite the mild decline in social mentions, the asset has periodically trended on Crypto Twitter, pointing out its latest position on the trend table on Sunday. Gokhshtein replied, “Trending and doing something are two totally different things.”

Right from the jump, Gokhshtein has expressed his indifference towards Terra Classic. The former US Congressional candidate previously called the asset a lottery ticket without utility amidst its latest rally, as The Crypto Basic reported last month.

Meanwhile, one of the most influential officials of the Terra Rebels replied to Gokhshtein’s sudden curiosity. “We are working quietly on something massive … talkers talk, builders build,” ReXx of the Terra Rebels replied in a quote to Gokhshtein’s tweet.

Notwithstanding the drop in social mentions and a perceived decline in development activities, the LUNC community continues to work tirelessly to ensure the asset’s complete revival.

Following the discovery of a decline in the asset’s volume due to the implementation of the 1.2% tax burn initiative, the community engineered a review of the burn rate to 0.2%, passing a proposal to implement the reviewed rate.

Furthermore, the LUNC community’s desire to see the asset listed on the American financial services platform Robinhood has been exemplified in recent calls. On a recent crypto listing spree, Robinhood asked the public which assets to list next. LUNC proponents stormed the comment section as they presented the asset. In addition, the community has launched a petition to call for the asset’s listing.

A USPTO attorney says PayPal has filed a trademark to expand its crypto offerings.

PayPal, an online payment company, has reportedly filed trademark applications that will expand its cryptocurrency offerings. Mike Kondoudis, a USPTO licensed trademark attorney, revealed the development today on Twitter.

According to attorney Kondoudis, PayPal filed the application on October 18, 2022, to exchange, trade, process, and transfer blockchain and digital assets. The leading online payment company also plans to offer digital currency processing services, as revealed in the application.

“PayPal has filed trademark applications for PAYPAL and its “overlapping Ps” logo. The apps claim plans for exchanging, trading, and processing transfers of Blockchain + digital assets, Crypto + digital + virtual currencies, etc.,” attorney Kondoudis said.

According to details, the Paypal trademark application asks for “Downloadable software for sending, receiving, accepting, buying, selling, storing, transmitting, trading, and exchanging Digital currency, … cryptocurrency, stablecoins…

… Payment processing services, namely, providing virtual currency transaction processing services for others, financial services, namely, providing stablecoin currency, cryptocurrency for use by others…”

At the time of writing, PayPal is yet to respond to a request for comment.

PayPal’s Cryptocurrency Offerings

Meanwhile, this is not the first time PayPal has showcased an interest in cryptocurrencies. In 2020, PayPal launched a new service that enables its more than 350 million customers to buy, sell, and hold Bitcoin within the platform. Earlier this year, PayPal expanded the service, allowing its clients to send Bitcoin and Ethereum out of the platform to their external wallets.

As reported, PayPal is considering launching its stablecoin backed by the United States dollar.

Attorney Deaton: Crush Me In A Debate If Anyone Thinks I “Spewed QAnon Conspiracy” About Ethereum

0

Deaton challenges Coindesk to a debate if it thinks he supported a QAnon conspiracy about Ethereum.

There have been allegations of corrupt practices involving the internal staff of the Securities and Exchange Commission and Ethereum officials during the formulation of William Hinman’s 2018 speech. Several members of the cryptocurrency communities have weighed in on the debate, including Charles Hoskinson.

Coindesk Dismisses the Allegation As A QAnon-Style Conspiracy

Leading cryptocurrency media outlet Coindesk recently referred to the allegations seeking to ensure Ethereum is classed as a security as a QAnon-style conspiracy. The Coindesk report infuriated XRP enthusiasts, who called out the news outlet for siding with Ethereum.

Attorney Deaton Reacts

Attorney John Deaton, the founder of Crypto Law, a media outlet focused on cryptocurrency regulatory and legal news, was among those who reacted to the report. Deaton asked Coindesk to bring its top journalist to a debate if the media outlet is confident that he made a QAnon-style conspiracy.

“If anyone at Coindesk is suggesting that I spew Q Anon conspiracies, I volunteer to be crushed in a debate or civil discussion by one of their top-notch journalists,” Deaton said.

The Crypto Law founder said it would be easy for Coindesk to humiliate him in a live stream if the cryptocurrency media outlet is confident that he has been supporting QAnon-type conspiracies.

“I mean if I’m espousing QAnon-type conspiracies, it should be easy to expose and humiliate me on a live stream,” he said.

Documents Backs Deaton’s Claims

It is noteworthy that since Ethereum officials and internal staff of the SEC were accused of corruption, several documents have been released to back this claim.

Earlier this year, Empower Oversight, a popular whistleblower checking and curbing the abuse of authorities, released a document that revealed SEC’s former director of Corporation Finance violated the agency’s policy.

While still at the SEC, Hinman had several meetings with his former employer, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, a member of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA). EEA is an organization created for the main purpose of marketing Ethereum as an enterprise solution.

After his time at the SEC, Hinman was allegedly paid over $9 million in profit and retirement earnings by Simpson Thacher. Furthermore, Hinman’s calendar while at the SEC revealed that he met Ethereum-related officials more than any other crypto project, even before Ethereum was declared as a non-security.

Terra Rebels Reveal USTC To Be Terra Classic Reserve Currency

0

Terra Rebels are set to combine the two competing repeg proposals into the ultimate repeg plan.

In an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session hosted hours ago by WSB Trader Rocko, Terra Classic core developer Tobias Andersen AKA Zaradar, revealed that the Terra Classic developers are working on a new repeg proposal.

According to Zaradar, the new proposal combines his proposal with the one made by Alex Forshaw. Notably, Forshaw and another team member, Max, are working to make this a reality and put to bed the recent debates surrounding the matter.

Unsurprisingly, the new proposal will require no new Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) minting.

“Alex and Max, they will work on an integrated proposal,” said Zaradar. “So we can sort of put that whole debate to rest, and you know, have a shared vision on how to fix this that will avoid printing more LUNC that will avoid neglecting USTC’s role as our reserve currency.”

Additionally, the LUNC core developer asserts that TerraClassicUSD (USTC) will serve as the network’s reserve currency based on this plan. Furthermore, according to Zaradar, the developers will also likely create a commodity token whose sale will help to strengthen the Treasury or community pool further.

“So in the joint proposal, USTC would be the reserve currency for everything,” said the Terra Classic core developer.

It is worth noting that the Terra Classic community has been engaged in debates for the better part of this month over the USTC repeg proposal that had a better chance of succeeding. Notably, the initial proposal from Forshaw evoked mixed feelings as it included a plan to mint more LUNC.

The reaction was unsurprising as bringing down the LUNC supply remains critical to the Terra Classic ecosystem recovery.

Notably, the first indication that developers could combine the competing proposals came when Edward Kim, another Terra Classic core developer, suggested running both proposals in parallel on the testnet.

It bears mentioning that should USTC reclaim the dollar peg, it would exponentially increase the rate of LUNC burns, creating a clearer path for holders to recover lost value. Notably, the USTC de-peg in May led to the Terra ecosystem collapse and wiped off over $60 billion in investor funds.

Cardano Founder Asks Ripple CTO to Stand Up and Tell XRP Community Not to Be “Conspiratorial”

Hoskinson reacts to criticisms over his “grand conspiracy” comment.

In a recent interview with popular cryptocurrency YouTuber BitBoy Crypto, Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has reacted to criticisms he received for recently commenting on the Ripple vs. SEC lawsuit.

Hoskinson said despite backing Ripple to win the lawsuit; he was surprised to see the XRP community bash him because he described the allegation between some SEC staff and Ethereum as a “grand conspiracy” in his interview with Tony Edward of Thinking Crypto.

Of the many XRP holders who slammed Hoskinson over the comment, the Cardano boss singled out David Schwartz, Ripple CTO.

Recall that Schwartz, in response to Hoskinson’s “grand conspiracy” comment, said: “There’s a lot of things I could say about what’s happened over the past few days with IOHK_Charles and the XRP community. But I will just say that this situation makes me very sad.”

Hoskinson Puts Ripple CTO on Blast

According to Hoskinson, Schwartz’s comment made him sad, adding that the Ripple CTO should be a man and tell XRP holders not to be conspiratorial.

“I kind of was a little disappointed with David Schwartz and others saying a lot could be said, and it makes me sad. How about you grow a f*cking pair of balls and tell your community not to be conspiratorial? Maybe you should do that because, at the end of the day, we all have to live in this space together, and hedging in the face of this madness doesn’t solve anything,” Hoskinson said.

Hoskinson added that XRP holders should be looking for ways to help Ripple win the lawsuit and not by accusing other crypto projects of corruption.

He further said that even if Ripple wins, bad relationships with government agencies will keep on hurting them.

“… Even if you do win, everybody hates you. Do you know why? Because you may win, but you still have all the bad blood because you just called a whole bunch of people in the Ethereum space criminals, who bribe government politicians, and you’ve weaponized the government agency. You made it personal. It’s like going to war with the IRS. Every year, they will find a way to audit your ass. Every year they’re going to grind you into the dust, and it never ends…”

XRP Holders Respond

As expected, many XRP holders still bashed Hoskinson over his recent comment.

@MK07272947 said: “He’s just mad no one talking about his project anymore. He must know the SEC is gonna come knocking soon.”

@BeergeekXRP said: “He’s a complete ass to blame David for any conspiracy bullshit.”

Reacting to Hoskinson’s recent comment, Digital Perspective said ETH Gate, a word used to describe William Hinman’s controversial Ethereum free pass speech, will not be going away anytime soon because there is no disputing fact. He said he would feel the same if identical things happened to ADA.

Ripple CEO Takes A Leaf From Elon Musk’s Playbook In Response To A Joke

Garlinghouse responds to a joke about his beard in an Elon Musk-inspired tweet.

Despite being in the throes of an extended legal battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Ripple chief Brad Garlinghouse has not lost his sense of humor.

On Sunday, Garlinghouse responded to a joke about his beard with a tweet inspired by billionaire Elon Musk.

XRP the Standard Productions, a Twitter account dedicated to posting satirical content about XRP, had joked that the account admin had a better beard than the Ripple chief. Notably, Garlinghouse tweeted, “No way,” in mock surprise, opting to use the same response from Musk to a tweet he made on Friday.

As reported by The Crypto Basic, Garlinghouse had asserted in a tweet on Thursday that the SEC had acted shamefully and did not care about transparency or disclosures. Notably, to the surprise of many, the tweet elicited a response from Musk, who opted to feign surprise by commenting, “No way.”

It bears mentioning that Garlinghouse’s tweet followed the announcement that the SEC had finally handed over highly contested Hinman documents.

Notably, pro-Ripple attorney Jeremy Hogan described these statements in a recent video as a declaration of war. The attorney asserted that Garlinghouse appeared to be speaking with the belief that Ripple now had the upper hand.

Attorney Hogan Describes Latest Tweet From Ripple CEO As A Declaration of War Against SEC

0

Ripple’s confidence is soaring with the SEC’s release of the Hinman documents, strengthening hopes in its fair notice defense.

Pro Ripple Attorney Jeremy Hogan has described the Tweet from Brad Garlinghouse on October 20 as “a declaration of war.”

Hogan said this in a YouTube video released less than 24 hours ago on his Legal Briefs channel, with over 150,000 subscribers. According to Hogan, as history tells us, declarations of war tend to come from a position of strength.

“You can say that Garlinghouse’s tweet was a declaration of war and declarations of war…as history tells us, are always made from places of strength,” Hogan said in the video.

As reported by The Crypto Basic on Friday, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse asserted in a Thursday tweet that the SEC does not care about disclosure, transparency, or clarity, despite lip service to the contrary. According to Brad, SEC’s shameless behavior would shock everyone when the truth came out.

The Ripple executive said this as a follow-up to Ripple General Counsel Stuart Alderoty announcing that the US Securities and Exchange Commission had finally handed over the Hinman documents.

The Hinman documents, which cover emails and other documents related to the draft of a controversial speech by William Hinman, the SEC director of Corporate Affairs, in 2018, have been a major point of contention in the almost 2-year long legal battle. In the speech, Hinman asserts that Bitcoin and Ethereum are not securities.

Notably, Ripple has fought to gain access to the drafts to use them to support its fair notice defense. However, the US SEC has resisted efforts to do so till now, arguing that the draft documents are protected under attorney-client privilege while asserting that Hinman’s statements did not represent the view of the regulator.

It is worth noting that the Hinman documents have been sealed at the request of the SEC. However, from an excerpt of Ripple’s reply brief, it is inferred that the SEC hoped Hinman’s statements would mislead industry participants. Notably, Garlinghouse, in his tweet, had asserted that the regulator had acted shamefully.

Decleration of War
Declaration of War

According to Hogan, the public can expect access to these documents in December at the earliest.

As highlighted by Hogan, the documents are not enough to prove that XRP is not a security, but it is relevant to Ripple’s fair notice defense. However, Ripple is hoping to win the case on these grounds.

Notably, Ripple wants its fair notice defense to be heard in a trial so that it can get a jury decision as opposed to a ruling from the judge. Hogan highlights this from a recent Ripple brief.

Declaration of War 2

It bears mentioning that Garlinghouse’s latest tweet has received a nod from Elon Musk, who is also engaged in a skirmish with the SEC. Per statements from Garlinghouse earlier this month, a decision on the case is expected in the first half of 2023.
