A Whale Sent Over 200K Bitcoin (BTC) To Exchanges; Is It Michael Saylor?

0

Crypto Twitter uncovers a whale that sent over 200K Bitcoin (BTC) to exchanges, with rumors suggesting it’s Saylor’s MicroStrategy with an intention to sell.

A prominent Crypto influencer (CryptoVinco) took to Twitter Monday to disclose an interesting transaction on the BTC blockchain. According to a screenshot of the transaction, one of the largest BTC whale addresses appears to have sent its BTC holdings to exchanges in July.

Holders often send their coins to exchanges when they intend to sell off their holdings. This practice seems to be indicating that possibility. Notwithstanding, a more interesting fact is the assertion that this whale address could very well be Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy’s BTC address.

“One of the biggest #Bitcoin    whales with over 200K+ $BTC sent ALL of their coins to exchanges.

I’m 99% certain this is Michael Saylor’s Bitcoin address, and they’re planning to sell everything.

When he soon sells, expect a bloodbath to the likes we’ve never seen ever before.” CryptoVinco said, as he shared a screenshot of the blockchain transactions.

The assertion has been met with mixed reactions, with some users expressing shock. Nonetheless, others have highlighted the fact that the address had more BTC than MicroStrategy was publicly revealed to hold. In light of this, they have refuted claims of the address belonging to the firm.

A look at the address (1P5ZEDWTKTFGxQjZphgWPQUpe554WKDfHQ) on the blockchain explorer indicates that the wallet has transacted 851 times, having sent and received an equal amount of 241,914 BTC, worth $4B+ against the prevalent rate.

The address systemically offloaded the BTC in a series of unequal successive transactions from July 18. The last transaction, which occurred on July 21, involved 4,006 BTC.

Michael Saylor, being one of the most prominent Bitcoin maximalists, has remained vocal about his firm’s ability to HODL its BTC holdings despite what the Crypto Winter throws at the markets. While Tesla was dumping its BTC, MicroStrategy purchased an additional 480 BTC from May to June amidst the bear market. The firm increased its BTC holdings to 129,699 coins as of June 29.

Should MicroStrategy dump its BTC holdings, it could create a ripple effect that would potentially crash the markets. The atmosphere is already tense within the crypto community as investors await the large BTC disbursement from Mt. Gox.

BTC is currently changing hands at $19,800 as of press time. The asset has plummeted below the support at $20k, but it has avoided a free fall to lower lows. If this address is confirmed to belong to MicroStrategy, the bearish sentiment ensuing is enough to give the bears full control of the markets.

Terra Whistleblower Fatman Promises “Leftover Bitcoin Yields” To UST Victims; Do Kwon Reacts, Calls It Scam

Do Kwon warns Crypto Twitter against taking up a recent offer from Fatman, calling it a scam.

Renowned Terra informant and whistleblower Fatman recently took to Twitter to promise “leftover” yields to users. Most of the crypto community on Twitter have expressed their doubts about such an offer. Surprisingly enough to most users, Terra’s Do Kwon appears to be among those calling Fatman’s offer a hoax.

Fatman’s tweet reads, “Received access to a high-yield BTC farm based on a private carry trade operated by an up-and-coming fund. I’ve maxed out what I could, so there’s some leftover allocation, and I thought I’d pass it along – priority will be given to UST victims. DM for more details if interested.”

Although Fatman has set up a condition of public disclosure, the community remains skeptical about the offer. Crypto Twitter influencer, Degen Spartan, quoted the tweet with an obvious mockery, expressing disbelief.

One user asked Fatman: “Did you get hacked.”

Fatman replied: “Not hacked; it’s me. It’s a genuine opportunity from a fund that I’m glad to be able to share with people on Twitter, but the available allocation is fairly low Also, when I close it in a day or so, I’ll make sure to publish all of the numbers, so everything is above board.”

Dr. Crypto Tonay Said: “totally illegal & u are selling securities, which without proper license, is a crime. After do Kwon and everything that’s happened, this seems the shadiest shit I have seen! Bad judgment bare minimum.”

Fatman replied: “It’s not a security.”

In reply to Degen Spartan’s comment, Do Kwon asserted that Fatman’s offer was an obvious scam. This caused an uproar, with most users arguing that the Terra founder is not in a position to comment on such cases, given his records.

‘I am an optimist at heart, but even I can’t remain open-minded about a “leftover allocation” for a “carry trade on bitcoin,”‘ Kwon said in reply to one of the comments.

Fatman insists that he is the one behind the tweet despite several users questioning the veracity of the offer and suggesting that the renowned whistleblower’s account has suffered a hack.

Fatman came to the limelight during the heat of the Terra collapse. Coming out as a Terra whistleblower, the pseudonymous Twitter user made some accusations against Terra. As previously reported by TheCryptoBasic, Fatman accused Do Kwon of entering a deal with Jump to manipulate the markets. He also mentioned that Terra might not disburse the promised refund to the collapse victims.

Additionally, in May, Fatman produced a video of Do Kwon allegedly referring to a “kill switch” for the Terra project. Due to his contribution to uncovering some information about Terra, Fatman has gained the trust of several users. This recent offer appears to be putting that prestige on the line.

Bluebit Completes listing of All Shiba Inu Ecosystem tokens.

Shiba Inu’s Leash Now Listed on BlueBit.io

According to a recent announcement Dubai and Saint Vincent-based BlueBit.io has listed Leash on its cryptocurrency exchange. The full Shiba Inu Trifecta, Shib, Leash, and Bone are listed on BlueBit.io.

BlueBit concluded the Twitter conversation by saying, “SHIBARMY, we listened to you…let us hear what you think.

LEASH is an ERC-20 token created as a utility for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. The token can be used to purchase products and services within the ecosystem and receive discounts and bonuses.

The addition of LEASH to BlueBit.io is no surprise, as the exchange has supported the Shiba Inu community. BlueBit.io was one of the first exchanges to list SHIB, the flagship token of the Shiba Inuproject.

The listing of LEASH on BlueBit.io will surely be welcomed by the Shiba Inu community, as it will provide them with another avenue to buy and sell the token. With the recent increase in the popularity of Shiba Inu-related projects, more exchanges will likely list LEASH shortly.

LEASH was initially intended to be a rebase token but has since transitioned to a fixed supply token. The team behind the project is anonymous but claims to have experience in marketing, software development, and financial analysis.

The Leash tokenomics are designed to incentivize holding by providing stakers with rewards for locking up their LEASH tokens. There is also a buyback-and-burn program in place to help reduce supply and increase demand.

As reported by The Crypto Basic, Bluebit first listed Shib Inu, then BONE, and now leash.

Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin Skips Cardano In A Poll About Cryptos He Respect Most

0

Buterin asked Crypto Twitter to guess the non-Ethereum crypto he respects the most, and Cardano is not on the list.

Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, recently created several polls on Twitter to get public opinions on his character. One of the polls asked, “which non-Ethereum cryptocurrency do I respect the most?”

Surprisingly enough, the list exempts his former colleague Cardano which many believe to be one of the top projects in the ecosystem. Vitalik only listed Bitcoin, Binance Coin (BNB), and Solana to choose from.

The poll contains three options: BTC, SOL, and BNB. About 13k individuals have voted at the time of reporting. Out of these respondents, 58% believe BTC is the non-Ethereum cryptocurrency Buterin respects the most. This does not come as a shocker, as the firstborn crypto undoubtedly prepared the path for all other digital assets.

Additionally, 12% of the respondents chose BNB, and 10% went with SOL. 20% chose not to give an opinion but were only curious to get the results.

Cardano’s founders, Charles Hoskinson and Vitalik Buterin have had some instances of conflict of opinions. Hoskinson co-founded Ethereum with Buterin but left in 2014 due to a fallout with Buterin over the project. Some rumors suggest that Buterin fired Hoskinson himself.

Hoskinson went on to found Cardano, which many now dub one of the “Ethereum Killers.” The disagreements between Hoskinson and Buterin have persisted notwithstanding, as regularly noticed on Twitter. The duo has taken to subtly jibing each other on occasion.

Juventus Official Partner, Top Crypto Exchange Bitget Kicks-Off Launchpool With XRP Rewards

Leading derivatives exchange Bitget starts a launch pool.

In a tweet today, leading derivatives exchange Bitget based in Singapore disclosed that its launch pool is live, offering users up to 150k XRP in rewards for staking Bitget and XRP assets.

“Bitget is thrilled to announce the beginning of Launchpool, with the added bonus of staking tokens to WIN free XRP airdrops, MEGA earnings and a HUGE prize pool for our first movers!” Bitget wrote in an accompanying blog post.

It bears mentioning that a launch pool is a platform that raises funds for crypto projects, promising returns for investors who stake their crypto holdings. However, the type of crypto projects Bitget hopes to fund with the pool is not yet clear.

As per the blog post by Bitget, users can get a share of 90,000 XRP by staking BGB, while users who choose to stake XRP get a chance to share in 30,000 XRP rewards. Additionally, new Bitget users get a share of 20,000 XRP, while some lucky participants will share in 10,000 XRP rewards.

It is worth noting that the derivative exchange is growing in popularity amongst users. According to a recent report by Vanguard from the Boston Consulting Group, the exchange has overtaken FTX to become the third largest derivative exchange by volume globally

Bitget is among the few crypto exchanges with expansionist plans during the crypto winter. The firm disclosed in June that it planned to double its workforce. Additionally, in August, it launched a $200 million security fund dubbed the Bitget Protection Fund to ensure the safety of user funds in the face of extreme market volatility following the collapse of several crypto lending platforms in recent months.

Notably, the exchange is an official sleeve partner of Juventus, a leading Italian soccer team. As recently reported by The Crypto Basic, both parties have entered an agreement to continue the partnership for the new football season.

New Fixed-Rate Decentralized Lending Protocol Goes Live on Cardano Ahead of Vasil Mainnet Launch

0

The new protocol goes live on Cardano.

With the Vasil mainnet launch scheduled on September 22, 2022, Cardano’s new fixed-rate lending and borrowing protocol has gone live.

Kulfi Finance, a lending and borrowing protocol, was deployed on Cardano in a bid to provide financial services across the world.

Kulfi Finance Features

According to an announcement today, Kulfi offers low-cost and efficient liquidity by allowing owners of specific cryptocurrencies to borrow other related assets without selling the coins.

The deposited funds will supply the Kulfi platform with the necessary liquidity, while users will be paid interest on their holdings. Kulfi Finance is a non-custodial money market protocol that offers various interest rate products on the Cardano blockchain, including fixed and variable interest rate lending.

While the variable loan products depend on supply and demand, cross-collateral lending, and instant loans to determine interest rates, the fixed loan product is based on the zero coupon bond concept.

“The initiative permits fixed-rate lending by lenders and fixed-rate, fixed-term borrowing by borrowers. Kulfi Finance aims to serve as the ecosystem’s liquidity gateway for Cardano DeFi via the use of streamlined user interfaces and reduced collateral requirements,” Kulfi Finance said in a statement.

Currently, Kulfi offers five primary services: borrowing, lending, staking, liquidity providers, principal tokens, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Why Cardano?

Kulfi Finance explained that it chose to launch on Cardano due to the numerous attributes associated with the blockchain, which include speed, scalability, and low-cost transaction costs.

“Although blockchains like Ethereum are more widely used than Cardano, the Kulfi team believes that the Cardano Blockchain has the potential to attract developers and new investors, which will accelerate its adoption shortly,” Kulfi added.

Vasil Upcoming Launch to Lure dApp Developers

Meanwhile, Kulfi’s launch comes a few weeks before the official deployment of the Vasil hard fork on the Cardano mainnet.

Vasil is tipped to go live on September 22, 2022, and the upgrade is expected to prompt many decentralized application developers to choose the Cardano blockchain over others.

MEXC Global Becomes First Top Exchange To Support Terra LUNA Classic Burn Initiative, Over 25M LUNC Burned Already

0

MEXC supports LUNC community efforts to reduce the excess supply of Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) tokens.

In a blog post published by crypto exchange MEXC Global 3 days ago, the firm disclosed that it would support the LUNC community burn tax proposal in a time-limited event from 10:00 September 3 to 10:00 September 17 (UTC).

“To support the burn tax proposal from the Terra Classic (LUNC) community, MEXC will launch a time-limited burning event for spot trading fees of LUNC/USDT and LUNC/USDC,” the company wrote.

As per the LUNC tax proposal, which recommends that a 1.2% tax be applied on all on-chain transactions and burnt, MEXC says the spot trading fee for LUNC trading pairs will be adjusted to 1.2%. MEXC notes that it will use the trading fee obtained to carry out secondary market buybacks daily. The LUNC tokens obtained from the buybacks would then be sent to the burn address provided by Terra.

While the event has a time limit of about two weeks, the exchange notes that it could be extended based on feedback from users of the exchange.

Notably, MEXC joins UK-based crypto exchange Y5 Crypto, which announced support for the tax proposal last Tuesday to support the LUNC community.

It bears mentioning that the Terra community has since approved the tax proposal. As such, MEXC started burning LUNC tokens on Sunday. The exchange has so far burned over 25.4 million LUNC in the last two days.

While Terra believes that it will best compensate investors in the LUNC community with its Terra 2.0 project, which it launched in opposition to pleas to burn excess LUNC supply, LUNC community members have taken it upon themselves to try to revive their once favorite project. Notably, the several burn initiatives by the community are geared towards that.

Consequently, the LUNC token has posted impressive gains in the last few weeks and added over $1 billion to its market cap. However, analyst Michaël van de Poppe has cautioned investors to give up hope that the token will ever rise to the $1 mark again. LUNC is currently trading at $0.0002591, up 3.47% in the last 24 hours.

Cardano (ADA) Ranks First Among Top 3,870 Cryptos Based on Market and Social Activities

0

Cardano has continued to be in the news for several positive reasons.

In an exciting development, Cardano is ranked first among the top 3,870 largest crypto assets in the LunarCrush Alt Ranking, following a surge in its social and market activities.

“Based on relative combined social + market activity, @Cardano has hit AltRank™ 1 out of the top 3870 coins across the market,” LunarCrush noted in a recent tweet.

Cardano’s Recent Outstanding Performance Amid Vasil Launch

Data from LunarCrush shows that over the last 24 hours, Cardano’s native cryptocurrency ADA is up 5.89% to $0.4928, while its social volume also soared 5.4% to 31,559.

In a parallel development, Cardano’s social engagement spiked 29.3% to approximately 73.83 million. The reason behind the feat is because of the upcoming launch of the Vasil hard fork. As reported by TheCryptoBasic, Charles Hoskinson announced last week that the Vasil hard fork on Cardano’s mainnet will go live on September 22, 2022.

The team behind the project picked September 22, 2022, after completing extensive testing of Vasil’s final node candidate 1.35.3.

“Following the successful completion & extensive testing of all core components, plus confirmed community readiness, we can today announce September 22nd for the Vasil upgrade on the Cardano mainnet,” the Cardano team noted.

Although Vasil’s launch on Cardano mainnet was initially scheduled to deploy in late June, it was postponed on two different occasions. The delay was because the Cardano team focused on eliminating any possible technical glitches that may arise.

ADA Investors Excited About Upcoming Vasil Launch

With the Vasil launch date announced, the Cardano community became excited to boost ADA marketing and social engagements, expecting the long-awaited hard fork to take place soon.

Vasil is tipped to boost Cardano’s network capacity, lower transaction costs, and enhance the blockchain’s smart contract functionality to enable the deployment of more useful decentralized applications.

In the hours leading up to press time, ADA currently trades at $0.49 across various cryptocurrency exchanges, with a 24-hour trading volume of $641.25 million.
