Big Week: Community To Listen Live as Tomorrow Ripple and SEC Conference Can End Any Issues Surrounding Hinman documents

Big Week for XRP Community as Ripple and SEC Set to Converge Tomorrow Over Hinman Document. The conference is expected to put to rest any issues surrounding the Hinman documents.

Ripple (XRP), which had a tremendous run between December 2017 and January 2018, has been a shadow of itself in recent times.

SEC Lawsuit Affects XRP Value

Recall that XRP soared to as high as $3.4 on January 7, 2018. However, the cryptocurrency is currently trading below $0.5 at the time of writing

The massive decrease of XRP value is as a result of the lawsuit filed against the blockchain company by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in December 2020.

Ripple-SEC Fight Over Hinman Document

While a number of issues have been raised throughout the course of the lawsuit, the most significant is the speech made on June 18, 2018, by William Hinman, SEC’s former Director of Corporation Finance.

The speech is widely described as an “Ethereum (ETH) free pass” by the Ripple community because Hinman declared the cryptocurrency as a non-security.

Following the lawsuit slammed against Ripple and two of its execs, the blockchain company has tried to get full access to the documents that formulated the speech, as it is believed that it would ultimately dismiss XRP as security and put an end to the lawsuit.

On two occasions, the court has ordered the SEC to surrender the documents to Ripple. However, the SEC has fought relentlessly to keep the documents out of Ripple’s reach, as it continues to state several reasons why Hinman’s documents cannot be handed over to the blockchain company.

SEC’s Attorney-Client Claim Over Hinman’s Document

The most recent reason why the SEC feels the document cannot be used as evidence in the lawsuit is that the document is protected by the attorney-client privilege.

According to the SEC, while drafting the documents, Hinman discussed with some legal practitioners at the agency, who gave him some useful insights that aided in the formulation of the speech.

Based on this, the SEC argued that the documents should not be made available to the public. The SEC’s recent claim over Hinman’s documents has attracted lots of criticism from Ripple and the entire Ripple community.

Upcoming Conference Imperative to the Lawsuit Outcome

With the parties still in disagreement over the Hinman documents, the court has decided to weigh into the issue, especially the recent claim made by the SEC that the document is protected by the attorney-client privilege.

A conference has been scheduled to discuss the SEC’s renewed assertion of attorney-client privilege over the Hinman document. The conference will be held tomorrow at 19:00 UTC in Courtroom 23B, Daniel P. Moynihan Courthouse, 500 Pearl Street, New York City.

Listen Live

While the number of attendees will be limited between the plaintiff and defendant’s team, the court has created an opportunity for the general public to listen to the proceedings of the conference.

Why Terra Founder Is Not Speaking About LUNC – Has Do Kwon Abandoned Luna Classic (LUNC)?

Do Kwon has not been touching Terra Classic (LUNC) since the launch of Terra 2.0.

Terra 2.0 went live about ten days ago. New LUNA tokens were minted on the new chain. There was a LUNA airdrop to holders of the original LUNA (Now Luna Classic) and UST.

The Terra community was focused on both LUNA and Luna Classic during all this. However, Terra’s developer team, Terraform Labs, and its founder, Do Kwon, seem to have been more concerned about Terra 2.0 and the new LUNA than Luna Classic and UST.

This realization has left the community confused about whether Do Kwon has completely abandoned Luna Classic. The fact that he bull-dozed the Terra 2.0 through community governance and voting tells a lot. Even more worrying are recent reports that he may be planning to create a new Stablecoin.

Do Kwon Avoiding Talks About LUNC

A user raised this issue during a Telegram conversation with the now famous FatMan, who has been digging up critical and sometimes damaging information about Terraform Labs and Do Kwon. A Reddit post was made about it.

Do Kwon has avoided any mention of LUNC. He doesn’t tweet anything about it or responds to any queries. According to the user in the conversation with FatMan, “It’s as if it doesn’t exist to him.” The user opines that Do Kwon may be avoiding any conversations about LUNC because doing so would be like opening a can of worms.

“He wouldn’t be able to disregard it again,” says the user.

From FatMan’s Point Of View

Responding to the user, FatMan said that Terra 2.0 is meant to be a clean-up to shift people’s attention to Terra 2.0 and forget about Terra 1.

This is like when Do Kwon took Chaiscan offline when the Chai money laundering incident was exposed. He shut down the blockchain explorer, and the evidence was gone. FatMan believes that Do Kwon is trying the same trick with the community. He wants to get people to concentrate on the next big thing, Terra 2.0, and forget about the losses and pains from Terra 1 and UST. He’s done this before.

Fatman said:

“A part of the motivation behind Terra 2.0 is to clean up the evidence…; I believe that one of the motives for all of this is erasing Terra 1 from people’s minds, so people forget the nature of the devastation that the UST/LUNA crash had on people lives…Do Kwon wants people to forget all of this.

He is trying to get people to focus on the next new things so he can shrink accountability and also want to make money; that’s his primary motive as always.”

Do Kwon Owns Terra

The post has attracted attention from crypto fans on the Terra Luna subreddit, with some suggesting that Do Kwon should be kicked out of Terra. However, others noted that Kwon owns Terraform Labs, and the company is responsible for creating and maintaining the Terra blockchain.

In this case, Terra is somewhat a centralized system controlled by one person. That’s despite the provisions of community governance and voting rights. This may have been apparent when Do Kwon disregarded the community’s demands to burn Luna instead of creating Terra 2.0.

No Way To Kick Him Out?

It appears that some members are serious about kicking Do Kwon out of Terra. There have been suggestions to fork Luna and create an entirely new chain fully controlled by the community. However, the new chain may not gain traction in the industry, and that’s a problem.

Former Ripple’s Exec Says XRP Will Hit $100 In the Future

0

The former Ripple exec is confident about XRP despite its negative performance.

While many Ripple (XRP) investors seem to be losing hope following the underperformance of XRP in the past months, Matt Hamilton, former director of Ripple’s Developer Relations, is optimistic about the cryptocurrency.

According to a Twitter thread, Hamilton affirmed that XRP would one day soar as high as $100.

“I don’t make price predictions. But I don’t see why XRP couldn’t hit $100 at some point. Just a question of time. If you said in 2009 that Bitcoin would hit $60k, you’d be laughed at,” the former Ripple’s Director of Developer Relations said.

Hamilton Still Defending Ripple

Hamilton, the current Director of Developer Relations at Bittensor, used to work in the same position at Ripple between September 2021 and March 2022.

Hamilton still thinks highly of the cryptocurrency linked to the famous blockchain company and its infrastructure despite leaving Ripple.

Hamilton made his XRP prediction following criticism from a Bitcoin holder, who slammed a Ripple enthusiast for suggesting in a video that XRP would soar to $100.

The Bitcoin enthusiast noted that XRP can’t reach $100 because the cryptocurrency is “literally a worthless entry on a centralized database.”

However, Hamilton would not tolerate further derogatory comments made at the popular blockchain company as he put up a defense in favor of his former employers, saying:

“Centralized database? OK, so future valuations are subjective, and no one has a crystal ball. But pretending you don’t know the difference between a blockchain and a centralized database will not help your assessment of things. The XRP Ledger is decentralized.”

XRP Value Dependent on SEC Lawsuit Outcome

XRP has fallen massively from its all-time $3.40 recorded on January 7, 2018. The cryptocurrency crashed massively in the build-up to the charges filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission against the blockchain company for conducting an unregistered securities offering in the United States.

At press time, XRP is changing hands at around $0.40, according to data on Coingecko.

Meanwhile, the performance of XRP is solely dependent on the outcome of the lawsuit, which is expected to end on or before March 31, 2023.

If the lawsuit outcome favors Ripple, XRP will be listed across numerous exchanges in the United States, and its price will soar tremendously.

However, if the outcome does not favor the blockchain company, investors should expect the XRP price to crash further.

Is Shibarium Testnet Launching In Two Days?

Shibarium Getting Ready for Beta Testnet.

Unification/XFUND Mainnet upgrade is set to go live on June 8. Shiba Inu Community thinks this mainnet upgrade has something to do with the Shibarium Layer-2 launch.

Rumors about the Shibarium launch revived all across social media platforms, especially Twitter, as Shiba Inu Community is expecting some information about the potential Shibarium Layer-2 launch from the upcoming XFUND Mainnet upgrade.

Unification $FUND is a hybrid blockchain that allows the deployment of WRKChains. While Unification $XFUND brings DeFi governance to Unification & powers Oracle of Oracles.

Unification $XFUND Mainnet upgrade is set to go live on June 8, and the Community speculates good news for the Shibarium launch. Please remember that ‘Unification’ is the primary developer of Shibarium. In April, ‘Unification’ confirmed that Shibarium Public Testnet would Launch This Year.

Shibarium, the layer 2 solution proposed by Shiba Inu’s pseudonymous creator Ryoshi, is supposed to be the backbone of all the SHIB projects in development – especially SHI and ShibFE (Shibarium Financial Ecosystem), according to Shytoshi Kusama.

Shibarium has perhaps garnered the most attention from the Shiba community. It aims to reduce the transaction fees for its users. It will offer a scaling and low-cost solution for many projects in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, including SHIB: The Metaverse and the Shiba Inu Games.

As the rumors began taking rounds, several community members started asking the Shiba Inu team for an official update about the potential Shibarium Layer 2 launch and its connection with the upcoming XFUND Mainnet upgrade.

During the time, Gossip SHIB, the former SHIB Growth Breed member, replied to one of the tweets from the community members that June 8th  and 9th can be a Shibarium update on the XFUND mainnet, which might signal that shib developers may begin Shibarium beta testing. But, this doesn’t mean PUBLIC testing at all.

However, she also called her tweet a “rumor” as it doesn’t come from the official Shiba Inu Twitter page.

Formerly on May 11, Shytoshi Kusama published the official blog article with the title, “Shibshire Blastaway.” He confirmed that Shibarium is near to launch and may come into life in the coming few weeks or months. However, he refused to give the exact launch date in that blog post. Instead, the lead developer of the SHIB ecosystem told the community to be mentally prepared as the team is ready for a safe and final launch of a decentralized world very soon.

Terra Proposes To Distribute 0.5% LUNA Emergency Allocation To Projects

New Proposal: Terra To Distribute 0.5% LUNA Emergency Allocation To Projects.

The Terra community is yet again moving another proposal, and this time, things seem to be going the emergency way.

According to a recent proposal, an emergency distribution of 0.5% of LUNA is needed to save the ecosystem from losing steam just days after the launch of Terra 2.0.

Guidance Needed

When Terra Revival Plan 2 was drafted, 10% of LUNA was allocated for incentives to projects on the platform. Of these, 0.5% was earmarked as emergency allocation to support projects building products on Terra 2.0 right after its launch.

Also, 1.5% was allocated to projects already building on Terra Classic. The other 8% was assigned to the “Developer Mining Program,” where developers get a share according to their TVL (Total Volume Locked) in their projects.

However, for the said emergency fund, guidance is needed to establish the distribution criteria and identify qualifying projects that should benefit.

Proposed Distribution Formula

The proposal identified three categories of projects that may need the support:

  • Those hosted on Terra Classic and have reached a product-market fit (PMF) stage and measurable TVL
  • Those on Terra Classic and have reached PMF but with no relatable TVL
  • Those launched, or not yet launched, but haven’t achieved PMF or TVL

Apparently, there are around 50 projects that need funding. There is 1 billion LUNA minted on Terra 2.0, meaning that 0.5% of these would be 5 million LUNA.

The proposal put forward a distribution formula of the 5 million LUNA for the three categories:

  • 5 million LUNA to be distributed among projects with both PMF and TVL
  • 1 million LUNA to be distributed among projects with PMF but no measurable TVL
  • 5 million LUNA to be distributed among projects that have launched or are not yet launched and have achieved neither PMF nor TVL.

The Catch

While the proposal is excellent and geared towards growing the Terra ecosystem, there’s a catch. Projects that benefit from the funds must use them to support Terra 2.0 and develop a product on the platform within three months.

They’ll also be required to post quarterly reports to tell the community how they used the funds. If they fail to adhere to any of these requirements, they’ll be required to refund the funds.

The Terra ecosystem has been struggling to stay afloat for a while, especially after the launch of Terra 2.0, which didn’t go very well. It’s yet to be seen whether this new proposal will positively impact.

Richmond Shiba Inu Clothing Launching Soon As Images Of Clothing Tags Revealed

The images suggest that John Richmond is close to unveiling the Shiba Inu clothing line.

With the Shiba Inu community eager to own some of the SHIB x John Richmond clothing, MILKSHAKE, a popular influencer of the dog-theme cryptocurrency, has leaked images of some of the designs expected to feature on these clothes.

Richmond Shiba Inu Clothing line

MILKSHAKE recently shared a video showing various Shiba Inu tags that will be featured on John Richmond clothing.

“New John Richmond Leak for the #ShibArmy: @JRichmondstyle working on some exclusive #SHIB “tags” & clothing #LegendsLiveForever this is so exciting to see,” MILKSHAKE tweeted.

Each tag includes Shiba Inu designs mixed with John Richmond logos. At press time, it is not clear whether the tags featured in the video shared by MILKSHAKE have been approved by the partners, John Richmond as well as Shiba Inu.

John Richmond Makes Similar Announcement

However, a few minutes later, John Richmond proceeded to share an image of a new design featuring the SHIB mascot, which is expected to be used on the Shiba Inu John Richmond clothing.

In the image shared by John Richmond, the Shiba Inu mascot is put in the center of an emblem with the inscription “Rock N Roll” and “In Good We Trust.”

“#LegendsLiveForever when a strong new symbol is born. In Good We Trust. Stay tuned for a more exclusive look into the world of John Richmond. We are working on some incredible things for the #ShibArmy community, and fashion world,” John Richmond tweeted from its official Twitter account.

The design is expected to be used across several John Richmond stores globally.

Shiba Inu x John Richmond Collaboration

John Richmond is an Italian-based fashion brand that manufactures designer clothes, shoes, bags, etc. Recall that in February, Shiba Inu entered into a partnership with John Richmond to have its logo and designs featured on some of the clothing made by the popular Italian fashion designer.

As reported, the Shiba Inu team has already commenced negotiations with some top celebrities and supermodels who will flaunt the clothing at different fashion events.

The development prompted Shiba Inu’s lead developer to blast critics, saying:

“Oh man… anyone who doubts the Shib x .@JRichmondstyle collaboration is going to eat their words on a sesame seed bun. And if you don’t think a supermodel wearing Shib designs isn’t revolutionary, then there is nothing else I can say. But I’m sure clones will follow & get praised.”

At press time, it is not known when the clothing designs will be made available to the public and at what price the Shiba Inu community will purchase each of the clothes when they are officially launched.

The Shiba Inu community will certainly be able to purchase the clothing using SHIB since John Richmond now accepts the dog-themed cryptocurrency as a payment method.

191 Million Shiba Inu Burnt in 24 Hours, 1.10 Billion In A Week Along With 1,159 Bone Tokens

0

Shiba Inu burning continues destroying supply regularly.

Over 191.51 Million Shiba Inu (SHIB) burnt within the Past 24 Hours and 1.10 Billion in the Past 7 Days. 1,159 Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) has also been destroyed by one of the Community-led Burning Projects.

Data from the tracking platform Shibburn shows that past week over 1.10 Billion tokens of the dog-inspired cryptocurrency Shiba Inu (SHIB) has been permanently moved out of circulation with nearly 97 separate transactions.

1CENT, one of the tokens dedicated to burning SHIB, has also destroyed 1,159 Bone ShibaSwap (BONE), the governance token of the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

ETH SHIBA and 1Cent token are among the prominent SHIB Burn contributors of the Week, while Travis Johnson’s SHIB Burn Games has postponed its Weekly Burn Event till Monday.

As per a recent tweet from Shibaburn.com, the Shiba Inu Community has burned a whopping total of 1,102,774,392 (1.10B) SHIB tokens in the last seven days through 97 separate transactions.

Among prominent SHIB Burners, ETH SHIBA burns the most Shiba Inu tokens in a week, whereas 1CENT was the second big Shiba Inu burner.

ETH SHIBA Burn Event:

One of the tokens dedicated to burning Shiba Inu, ETH SHIBA, has organized its first-ever SHIB Burn Party through the SHIB Burn Portal. ETH SHIBA destroyed 150 million Shiba Inu through this event, worth $1,632 in one significant transaction.

The team shared “Proof of Burn” in the shape of an Etherscan transaction.

ETH SHIBA is three month old project. Since its inception in March, the token claims to burn over 2.35 billion Shiba Inu tokens.

1CENT Weekly BURN EVENT:

1Cent, the only token dedicated to burning the other two of the tokens of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, i.e., SHIB and BONE, organized its Weekly Burn Event on May 30th (Monday). Through this event, the 1Cent token has removed a total of 64,561,218 (64.45M) SHIB, worth only $786.75, from circulation forever in one significant transaction.

At the same time, the project carried out another transaction and destroyed a total of 1,159 Bone ShibaSwap (BONE), the governance token of the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

The team behind the project has shared the two separate burn transaction links for SHIB and BONE as a “Proof of Burn” with the community.

Soon after organizing the Weekly BURN EVENT, the team also updated the total number of Burn SHIB tokens and BONE on its official website. The project claims to burn a whopping total of 2,225,768,297 (2.22B) SHIB through 12 separate transactions since March 14th, 2022.

1Cent is the only project that burns not only SHIB but also BONE. The team burnt BONE for the first time on April 25th, 2022. Since then, 1CENT has taken out 41,704 BONE tokens from circulation forever through 5 separate transactions.

Postponement of Travis Johnson’s SHIB Burn Games Weekly Burn Event:

Travis Johnson’s SHIB Burn Games announced that the Weekly Burn Event scheduled this Sunday had been postponed till the next day, as it has to face some unexpected technical issues with SHIB Burn. The individual SHIB Burning project reveals to burn $647.88 worth of Shiba Inu on the coming day.

Past 24 Hour Burn:

Besides weekly burns, a total of 191,510,171 (191.51M) SHIB tokens have been sent to the dead wallet by Shiba Inu Community through 14 separate transactions in the last 24 hours.

Ethereum Layer-2 Optimism Records Nearly $1B in TVL Getting Second Place In ETH L2 Platforms, After OP Token Launch

Optimism continues to record tremendous growth.

Following the launch of the governance token of Ethereum layer-2 scaling platform Optimism, the network has recorded a massive boost in the total value locked (TVL) on the platform.

According to data provided by L2BEAT, upon the launch of the Optimism OP token on May 31, 2022, Optimism’s TVL soared to nearly $1 billion.

Optimism TVL Dipped Slightly

Optimism’s TVL has surged 108.9% in the last seven days to $974 million. It is worth noting that the total value locked in various protocols based on Optimism had soared as high as $1.01 billion on June 2, 2022.

Recall that Optimism distributed the tokens in an airdrop to different beneficiaries. According to reports, 5% of the token’s supply was distributed to members of the community who quickly proceeded to offload the tokens in the market, thus causing its price to crash.

OP quickly plummeted from a high of $4.5 to a low of $1.20 at the time of its launch.

However, as the value of the cryptocurrency suffered massively following efforts from many beneficiaries to sell their airdropped tokens, Optimism’s TVL dipped from $1.01 billion to $974 million.

Optimism Ranks Second in Ethereum L2 TVL

Despite the dip, Optimism TVL is still doing remarkably well in terms of total locked-up volume for all Ethereum L2 platforms.

ETH L2 tokens

As of June 4, a total of $5.06 billion is locked up across various Ethereum Layer-2 scaling platforms.

In the data provided by L2BEAT, Arbitrum, an Ethereum L2 scaling platform, ranks as the top project with a total value locked of $2.47 billion, representing 48.89% of the $5.06 billion total value locked.

Optimism’s $974 million worth of TVL puts the project in the second position. Optimism’s $974 million TVL suggests that the network owns 19.22% of the $5.06 billion locked across various Ethereum L2 scaling platforms.

Meanwhile, the price of a unit of OP is changing hands at $1.40, data on the popular cryptocurrency aggregator platform CoinMarketCap shows.

Polygon’s MATIC Is Now Available For Buying, Selling, And Trading On The Voyager App

Polygon’s MATIC Is Now Available On The Voyager App.

Voyager has just announced the integration of its flagship token, MATIC, into the popular Voyager crypto trading app.

Crypto traders and investors on Voyager will now have one more crypto to trade with. They can buy, sell, and even open and close trades with MATIC on the app.

This marks yet another effort by essential players in the crypto industry to mainstream cryptos and blockchain technology.

According to its official description, Polygon is “The protocol for building and connecting Ethereum compatible networks, aggregating scalable solutions on Ethereum and supporting a multichain Ethereum ecosystem.”

Initially, Polygon was called the Matic Network (that’s where its native token MATIC gets the name). That was back in 2017 when it was founded. Its main aim was to help scale and solve the congestion problem on the Ethereum network. The project was later renamed Polygon and was launched in 2020. The re-branding also came with a few changes. Polygon now employs a multi-layer approach to connect to the Ethereum network. This approach appears to be appropriate for its goal.

Voyager is a crypto trading app boasting numerous cryptocurrencies already supported on the platform. To start using the app, users only have to download the app, create an account, fund it by linking with the bank, and start trading immediately. It says as much on its online portal.

Besides supporting crypto trading, users on Voyager can also benefit from a number of promotional programs like referral commissions, special rewards, and the ability to use a Voyager debit card. There’s also a Voyager token, a staking portal, and a loyalty program hosted by the platform. Those who wish to hold their assets on the Voyager app can earn up to 12% annual interest.

What This Means

Given the above-mentioned benefits of accessing the Voyager app, Polygon/MATIC holders will now be exposed to more earning opportunities. They can sell, buy, trade, or hold their coins on Voyager.

Shiba Inu Going To Reach 1500 Islands As Estonian Exchange Looking Forward To Support Shib

0

Shiba Inu Community can expect a new partnership of the Shiba Inu ecosystem with The Estonian Exchange, Switchere.

According to Wikipedia “Estonia, a country in Northern Europe borders the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland. Including more than 1,500 islands, its diverse terrain spans rocky beaches, old-growth forest, and many lakes.”

MILKSHAKE, an official Shiba Inu Growth Community member, is in discussions with Switchere for some kind of partnership. The development comes after NOWPayments partnered with the Estonian exchange to roll out a new fiat payout solution for the popular dog-themed cryptocurrency along with some other major cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

On May 27, the dedicated SHIB Growth Breed Member informed the Shiba Inu Community that she will get into a discussion with Switchhere crypto exchange in the coming week.

As promised after a week, MILKSHAKE comes up with the recent update about the discussion via tweet. She feels grateful to Switchere Exchange for excellent communication and told Shiba Inu Community that Switchhere wants to support the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

The Shiba Inu Growth Breed member has tagged Switchhere’s official Twitter account in her tweet while giving a shoutout to the exchange.

However, the details have not been disclosed officially yet. Launched in 2019, Switchere is the best way to purchase the most popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin or Ethereum with US Dollars or Euros using debit or credit card. Exchange offers no registration for purchases under EUR 100.

While taking historical references into consideration, Switchhere might come up with a Shiba Inu listing or some kind of burning feature for the Shiba Inu ecosystems like NOWPayments and FCFPay.

On May 17, Canada-based payment gateway, FCFPay officially announced that they will incorporate the “SHIB Burning Mechanism” into their payment gateway. Whereas, on March 22nd, NOWPayments added a new optional BURN feature for SHIB and LEASH to its platform that enabled merchants to burn a portion of the profits they receive in SHIB or LEASH.

These are all assumptions until the teams officially unveil the curtains from any partnership announcement.
