ETH Reserves On Cryptocurrency Exchanges Hits 15-Month Low Plus Highest Amount Of ETH Withdrawn In Single Day

0

Over the past week, users have withdrawn $1.6 billion Ethereum from exchanges. According to analysts, ETH was moved to the DeFi protocols, and for staking in ETH 2.0.

According to the Glassnode Tweet, ETH balance on the cryptocurrency exchanges at the end of last week reached a 15-month low of 15.4 million ETH (about $20.5 billion).

The withdrawal of crypto asset began on January 19 – which shows that in a few days, ETH worth about $1.6 billion was withdrawn from the exchanges.

According to the Whale Alert service, most of the coins were transferred from large cryptocurrency exchanges to anonymous wallets.

Quantum Economics analyst Pedro Febrero said there are three reasons why so much ETH has been withdrawn from exchanges.

First, he suggested that users have started depositing ETH in DeFi protocols.

But, according to DeFi Pulse, the number of ETH deposited in the DeFi protocols decreased from 7 million coins on Tuesday to 6.9 million on Wednesday, and then again to 7 million in the last week.

Febrero also suggested that the number of ETH staked in Ethereum 2.0 has increased by more than 320% since December 2020.

On January 19, 170,000 ETH was staked in Ethereum 2.0, and on January 20, another 200,000 coins were staked.  This is about a third of the ETH withdrawn from the exchanges.

Febrero also suggested that institutional investors, such as Grayscale investors, are accumulating ETH. However, according to the BYBT website, Grayscale did not buy more ETH for its public trusts.

The explanation of the remaining ETH withdrawn from the exchanges is difficult to determine. Perhaps retail investors have started moving crypto assets from exchanges to their wallets.

“In our opinion, the withdrawal of Ethereum from the exchanges means that the price of the crypto asset has a better chance of growth. The less ETH available on exchanges, the higher the probability of a price increase, ” Febrero said.

Highest Amount Of ETH Withdrawn In Single Day

On January 22, investors withdrew 659,000 ETH from crypto exchanges. CEO and founder of NuggetsNews.com.au, Alex Saunders, says this ETH outflow may be the biggest of a single day.

Largest ETH withdrawal ever?, In a single hour,  659 thousand ETH left exchanges.

Saunders says, it is likely that Ethereum investors have moved their ETH to offline wallets, DeFi platforms, or staking in ETH 2.0. This shows that ETH investors are optimistic about the future of the digital asset.

On the price side, Ethereum is back in bullish territory after regaining the $ 1200 price area as support. Most likely, Ethereum will continue to move up with small steps, setting new support levels.

If the king of cryptocurrencies stays in the 30-32k range, it will provide the stable environment needed for Ethereum to thrive, and possibly approach $1,500 or even $2,000.

Most likely, the bullish momentum of Ethereum will continue till February 8, when the CME group will launch ETH futures contracts for institutional investors.

CNBC Host Advised The American Who Won Lottery Worth $731 Million To Invest In Bitcoin

The host of the show Mad Money on CNBC, Jim Kramer, offered his investment strategy to the winner of the Powerball lottery, who won $731.1 million.

After the draw on Wednesday, the identity of the winner of the jackpot remain disclosed, it is known that the ticket was purchased in a small shop in Maryland. The state is one of the few where winners remain anonymous.

Kramer believes that the sixth-largest prize in the history of the lottery puts its owner in a strong position, and he does not need to take risks with the investment. But the problem of wealthy people is inflation, in particular — hyperinflation, Kramer added.

As one of the measures to invest his lottery, Kramer suggested investing 5% of it in Bitcoin. He also advised not to buy Bitcoin for the entire amount as it is highly volatile asset.

“This is an important new means of saving,” said the former hedge fund manager.

Kramer identified precious metals like gold, real estate, and art as hyperinflation-resistant assets. In them, he also called for investing 5% of the winnings. In his opinion, it is not necessary to invest more than 20% of the winning amount in the stock market.

The CNBC host owns some Bitcoins, which he bought at a rate below $18,000. According to him, digital assets do not occupy a large share in his portfolio.

TRASTRA Review-Cryptocurrency Card For The Mass Market

0

Despite the rapid growth of various cryptocurrency projects in 2020, the issue of paying with crypto in daily life remains a challenge.

Unfortunately, very few offline or online merchants accept digital currencies right now for various reasons, whether it’s the difficulty of the technology itself, taxation, or unstable exchange rates. The reality is that even with 100 BTC in your wallet you’ll have a hard time spending 2.99 EUR on a cup of coffee at your local cafe.

Thankfully, there’s already a solution that can allow you to not just satisfy your coffee preferences, but help you spend cryptocurrencies on everything you want. These are the tools that have combined the advantages of both traditional payment system and digital currency — crypto debit cards

In simple words, cryptocurrency cards work just like any other payment card enabling users to purchase goods and services offline and online. The difference is that they are directly connected to cryptocurrency wallets and Crypto needs to be converted to fiat currency in a mobile app or web platform to be able to use the card in stores or ATMs

Sounds exciting, but what’s the catch?

As the mass market requirement for such products is increasing many crypto card issuers are taking advantage of this opportunity by imposing hefty fees on their users. This results in high charges for using the service itself.

Also, the crypto exchange fee can come as a surprise because some companies switch rates on the confirmation screen and in completed transactions. As a result transaction fees may be higher than you expected, and such platforms will prosper with every transaction that you make.

Bearing that in mind, we are reviewing a crypto card that lacks such shortcomings and is built on the principle of trust between the service and its customers — TRASTRA.

Fund Managers Survey By Bank Of America Shows Capital Inflows To Bitcoin Are Higher Than Tech Companies

0

A fund managers survey conducted by Bank of America showed that Bitcoin now receives more capital inflows compared to other investment assets.

A Bank of America study published by Reuters shows the growing popularity of BTC as an investment asset. According to the survey, investors interest in Bitcoin has exceeded the interest of large technology companies. There is a greater inflow of capital into the Bitcoin than ever before.

Technology companies stopped being the most popular investment asset for the first time since October 2020. According to the study, bets against the US dollar (short positions on the dollar) have now become the third most popular trade.

Other details of the study suggest that in the near future, it is possible that Bitcoin will have an increasing role as hedge against inflation.

Macro analyst Holger Zschaepitz tweeted.

“Inflation expectations are at an all-time high: a record 92% of investors, according to the BofA Fund Manager Survey, expect higher inflation in the next 12 months,”

The experiment was aimed at developing and implementing smart contracts that allow the Bank of France to issue digital currency, control its circulation and conduct settlements between financial organizations.

The Central Bank believes that blockchain will increase the efficiency of international payments and improve the functioning of the economy in Europe. The Bank of France also said that it will continue to conduct additional experiments under this project until mid-2021.

The regulators needs to understand how the central bank digital currency (CBDC) can improve the conduct of cross-border payments and become accessible to institutional clients. Also, such experiments allow to understand what changes should be made to the monetary legislation.
