Shiba inu coin surged over 20% to a record high of $0.00005451, CoinMarketCap data showed. The move came after an anonymous crypto whale purchased 276.6 billion SHIB tokens Monday evening. Shiba inu coin is now the 11th largest cryptocurrency, with a market value of $21.4 billion.

Shiba inu coin, soared more than 20% on to hit a record high of $0.00005451, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

The move higher in the cryptocurrency was sparked Monday evening after an anonymous crypto whale purchased 276.6 billion shiba inu tokens for about .5 million, according to data from WhaleStats, which tracks activity for the 1,000 largest ether wallets.

The purchase brought the crypto whale’s total holdings in shiba inu coin to 316.5 billion, worth about $15 million and the largest position in the wallet.

The surge in shiba inu represents a renewed wave of risk-on sentiment among cryptocurrency traders, especially after bitcoin surged to record highs earlier this month at about $67,000. Shiba inu’s Tuesday surge catapulted its market value to $21.4 billion, making it the 11th largest cryptocurrency.

To crack the top 10, shiba inu coin will have to nearly double its levels to take over USD coin’s market valuation of about $33 billion. Dogecoin, the inspiration for shiba inu coin, would be the next target for shiba inu. It has a $35 billion valuation.

The technical analyst Katie Stockton of Fairlead Strategies said she thought the renewed rally in altcoins like shiba inu could continue if bitcoin managed to confirm its recent breakout by trading above the $65,000 level again.

“A breakout in bitcoin in absolute terms would support a risk-on environment favoring Ether and other altcoins,” Stockton said in a Tuesday note. And that type of environment could be a boon for shiba inu coin.

0

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari launched eNaira a central bank digital currency. The institution recalls that this progress is based on several years of research, and meetings with several players in the field, including banks, FinTech solutions operators and merchants.

With a population of 211 million, Nigeria’s CBDC trial now becomes the second largest behind China’s digital yuan. On top of that, over 62 percent of Nigerians are aged 24 or under, making the eNaira available to a largely digitally native population. Launch of digital currency can increase the GDP of Nigeria to $29 Billion over the next 10 years. Nigeria is now sixth in terms of digital currency adoption across the globe. Nigerians can now use eNaira for cross borders transactions. Approx 1.5 million Nigerians were using Bitcoin for overseas transactions can now use eNaira.

This digital currency is developed by Hyper Ledger Fabrics. eNaira app is now available to download on App Store for IOS users and Google’s Play Store for Android users. In order to use eNaira app, one has to complete their verification. The Nigerian Government will be a able to control and monitor all eNaira transactions. Users can link their bank accounts to eNaira app to add and withdraw funds.

“As Nigeria is still considered one of the most ‘unbanked’ countries in the world, decentralized identity systems and CBDCs will provide the population with a way to prove their identity and get access to banking services directly from their smartphone,” Ben Constanty, co-founder of Smartlink, told CoinDesk. “It also means that every transaction will go through that system in order to buy and sell things.”

The Bank Of Israel Aims To Launch Its CBDC On Ethereum

0

For now, central banks around the world are still working on developing and testing their own CBDCs, but there are new ones that are joining the race all the time.

The Bank of Israel, reportedly just launched a cryptocurrency pilot program of its own, with plans to create a CBDC using Ethereum’s network.

However, it appears that the project is bound to run into a number of challenges.

So far, there are several major nations that are taking a lead in the CBDC development, including China, Sweden, Japan, and France. All of these countries were working on their own CBDCs for years at this point, so they do have quite the advantage on the newcomers such as the central bank of Israel.

Israel is in the initial stages of CBDC development, according to recent reports, and they decided to use Ethereum. The central bank’s CBDC Project Manager, Yoav Soffer, explained:

“We did a trial with Ethereum technology, not because we think that that’s necessarily the technology we’ll use, but because it was a technology that was available for us in order to understand its advantages and disadvantages.”

The purpose of this trial is simply to try and identify the advantages and disadvantages of digital currencies, and for that alone, Ethereum is just as good a solution as anything else.

However, Soffer did say that the initiative has been very challenging. He pointed out the complexity of the project, which makes it difficult to predict how long the testing of the project might last, or when it will end.

The challenges are many, starting with uncertainty about whether a digital currency would serve the local population’s needs, in the first place. The infrastructure for a product of this kind is not ready to survive in the long term, and there is no backup solution in case of the network’s breakdown.

“It’s rather challenging to run a project like this. In general, projects at the Bank of Israel have start and finish dates. You know when they will end and what you need to achieve along the way. We don’t know when this project will end, with all that that implies.”

And, of course, the bank has to create a CBDC to be accessible and competitive compared to other types of payment.

China is currently leading the CBDC race with its digital yuan almost ready for launch. In fact, the public trials for digital yuan have been going on for nearly two years now after the completion of its development in 2019.

Russian Central Bank Head Says Russia Is Not Ready To Launch Crypto ETFs

0

The head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina gave a negative answer to the question about the possibility of trading cryptocurrency ETFs in Russia.

On October 22, 2021, during a press conference following the meeting of the Board of Directors, the Chairman of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said that the regulator was not ready to follow the example of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and allow Bitcoin ETFs trading.

A similar response was expected since the head of the financial regulator has repeatedly and sharply criticized cryptocurrency projects.

On the other hand head of SEC USA, Gary Gensler said that they approved the launch of BTC futures ETFs since they can be attributed to financial instruments of the commodity market.

Gensler says that the BTC ETFs are controlled by the CFTC and are subject to the Investment Companies Act 1940.

Spanish Banks Anxiously Waiting For Central Bank Approval To Work With Cryptocurrencies

0

Spanish banks are interested in providing cryptocurrency services directly to clients and expect the Spanish Central Bank will bring regulatory clarity for crypto.

Last June, the Spanish legislature proposed amendments requiring crypto service providers to register with the Bank of Spain.  The regulator plan to bring recommendations for registering cryptocurrency firms and trading platforms by October 29.

Cinco Días, dean of the economic and business press in Spain reports given the uncertainty surrounding the regulation of crypto assets, Spanish banks wishing to work with cryptocurrencies are not sure whether to provide crypto services or not because of unclear crypto rules and regulations.

Therefore, due to the lack of clear guidance from the Spanish Central Bank, local financial institutions have reached out to the regulator for clarification on whether to apply for registration to add support for crypto or not.

In June, the Swiss branch of the Spanish bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) has started to provide private clients with services for the storage and trading of bitcoin.

Gloria Hernández Aler, partner at the consulting firm finReg360 said:

“It makes no sense for banks not providing crypto services since their activities are already controlled by the Bank of Spain. However, they are required to notify the regulator of their intentions to provide customers with digital assets access. Banks also might need to change their anti-money laundering policy for adopting crypto-assets.”

Earlier, the Central Bank of Spain called investments in cryptocurrencies risky due to their high volatility, hacking risks, and lack of consumer protection rules. Last year the Spain central bank expressed its readiness to explore the possibility of launching its digital currency (CBDC).

Reddit Intend To Bring Its Non Fungible Token (NFT) Platform

0

Reddit is looking to hire people for what could become a new platform for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital goods.

Reddit is preparing to develop a platform for non-fungible tokens, according to a new job posting.

The San Francisco-based company is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who will be responsible for the building services that will enable “millions” of users to create and trade NFTs.

The post for a senior backend engineer says:

“We are looking for strong engineers and leaders to help us seed the team, set its strategy, and build for the future. If you ask us, the NFT movement has only just begun, so come and join our team to get started.”

The job description highlights the importance of NFTs, predicting that they will “rewrite” the way we think about digital goods. It highlights several use cases related to the new technology:

“Just as cryptocurrencies are set to revolutionize the world of economics and finance, NFTs are going to rewrite how we think about digital goods.

Beyond visual art, there are already NFTs for music, videos, articles, and even memes. Many believe that NFTs will become the standard for items in online games, as well as items in the eventual metaverse.

If there is one thing we’ve noticed with NFTs, they too have an incredible power to create a sense of participation and belonging. With every new NFT project, a vibrant community of owners pops up with it. Fans of today’s biggest creators and brands are now flocking to buy digital goods directly from them — to support them, to gain exclusive access, and to feel a greater sense of connection with them.”

Reddit’s first entry into NFTs was in June this year when Reddit auctioned off three “CryptoSnoos”. CryptoSnoo owners can use it as their profile picture and make their comments shine when using Reddit

Gokhshtein has been holding Dogecoin and recently tweeted that he had gotten into SHIB and FLOKI too.

Recently, SHIB has been listed by Robinhood app’s rival, Public, and it is now accepted by real estate agency Candoli Propiedades based in Argentina. Besides, the coin has been added by two crypto exchanges—India-based ZebPay and Turkish BtcTurk, both the oldest and biggest platforms in their countries.

The community is expecting the Robinhood app to list SHIB as well one of these days, hoping that it would push the price as high as $0.01.
