Terra Classic V23 Upgrade Has Already Been Delivered, Says Terra Rebels

0

Raider70 says the Terra Rebels have already delivered the V23 upgrade.

Developers have rolled out the Terra Classic v23 upgrade, says Terra Rebels member and Terra Classic core developer Raider70.

Community influencer Classy (@ClassyCrypto_) made this known in a tweet today, sharing a Discord message from the developer. Raider70 said the V23 upgrade was delivered when Edward Kim and an external team of developers re-opened Inter Blockchain Communication (IBC) channels.

The developer clarified that the upgrade, which will bring the Terra Classic network on par with other Cosmos chains, including LUNAv2, is still in the works. Edward Kim is working with the Terra Rebels on the budget for the upgrade dubbed v2.0.3, said Raider70.

Recall that in October, Raider70 said the V23 upgrade would make the Terra Classic network fully Cosmos interoperable with the CosWasm upgrade. However, it now appears that it is separate from upgrades to bring technological parity.

As previously reported, the Terra Rebels have moved to a paid working model. Consequently, it would not be surprising to see a community pool spend proposal when developers are done working on the budget for the parity upgrades.

The Terra Rebels have already received 937.5 million Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) to make the Rebel Station independent of Terraform Labs’ infrastructure. So far, the funds have been the subject of controversy within the community.

Notably, with full Cosmos interoperability, Terra Classic community members can find new use cases for their LUNC holdings within the Cosmos ecosystem. This is because developers on other chains could build to accept a wrapped version of the token to attract the budding community. However, technological parity will allow developers to deploy decentralized apps for LUNAv2 on the classic chain easily.

Developers like Kim believe fixing the chain is the fastest way to attract utility on-chain. There is speculation that Kim is set to launch a separate development group with Zaradar.

Judge Completely Grants Ripple Recent Request But Denies SEC Motion In Part

Judge Torres has issued an order on the parties’ requests to seal certain documents in connection with the expert challenges.

Judge Analisa Torres, the presiding Judge of the Ripple vs. SEC lawsuit, has issued an order regarding the parties’ request to seal documents in connection with the expert challenges, also referred to as Daubert motions.

Ripple and SEC Sealing Requests

In August, the parties requested to seal certain documents submitted in connection with their respective Daubert motions. While the SEC claimed that its request was necessary to protect the identities of its expert witnesses, Ripple stated that its sealing motion would protect its highly confidential business information and the legitimate privacy interests of third parties.

Furthermore, MoneyGram and an unidentified third party also moved to redact portions of certain documents submitted in connection to the parties’ Daubert motions to protect their private interest and confidential business information.

According to an order yesterday, Judge Torres granted Ripple and non-parties motion to seal and redact certain information contained in some Daubert motions’ documents. However, the presiding Judge granted in part and denied in part the SEC’s motion to seal.

“For the reasons stated below, the SEC’s motions are GRANTED in part and DENIED in part, Defendants’ motions are GRANTED, and the non-parties motions are GRANTED,” the order read.

Why Judge Torres Denied SEC’s Motion In Part

The Securities and Exchange Commission had previously requested to redact the experts’ names, contact information, employment history, publications, etc. Furthermore, the SEC asked the court to redact the consulting expert firms that assisted the experts in drafting the reports.

While Judge Torres agrees that publicly disseminating information about the SEC’s expert may increase the likelihood of threatening behavior, she does not think publishing the names of the consulting firms that assisted the experts poses any form of risk.

Judge Torres added that the SEC did not adequately justify the sealing of the consulting firms that aided the experts.

“Accordingly, the Court DENIES the SEC’s request to redact the names of the consulting firms that assisted its expert witnesses, and otherwise GRANTS the SEC’s requests to redact the documents submitted in connection with the Daubert Motions,” Judge Torres ordered.

Zaradar and Kim To Work on a New LUNC Development Team, Confirm Not Leaving Terra Classic

Terra Classic Core Developer Zaradar Confirms He Is Not Leaving The LUNC Community.

Terra Classic core developer Tobias Andersen, AKA Zaradar, has put to bed fears that he may leave the Terra Classic community in a tweet today.

According to Zaradar, despite leaving the Terra Rebels, he is not leaving the community. Rather, Zaradar says he plans to focus on Layer 1 development work now, urging the community to stay focused on building.

“I am not leaving the community, I am simply trying to focus the time I have on L1 and let TR grow onto a path of its own,” Zaradar wrote. “Lets all just look forward and focus on building, rather the battling.”

Recall that the developer announced his decision to leave the Terra Rebels yesterday, citing disputes over funding, as reported by The Crypto Basic. Unsurprisingly, the decision stoked fears that the respected developer would leave the network.

Meanwhile, Classy (@ClassyCrypto_), a community influencer hours before Zaradar tweeted, asserted that the developer is about to launch a separate development team with fellow core developer Edward Kim.

Notably, fellow community influencer Crypto King (@CryptoKing_NFT) also shared the same sentiment urging the community to support them when it comes.

While The Crypto Basic has yet to see a source for this, it may be plausible, considering the message from Terra Rebels’ admin ClanMudhorn yesterday. Per the message that The Crypto Basic shared yesterday, Zaradar had requested Layer 1 funding for a team of developers outside of the Terra Rebels.

Notably, the community welcomed Zaradar’s tweet today with excitement, as yesterday it was feared that the network would be losing a key developer.

All of these come in the wake of a controversial proposal that allocated 937.5 million from the community pool to the Terra Rebels.

Shiba Eternity Receives Its Largest Update

Shiba Inu game, Shiba Eternity developers, roll out version 1.1.4 with at least ten Key fixes.

Shiba Eternity developers have rolled out version 1.1.4, per a tweet from Mazrael (@Materocks), a member of the Shiba Inu games team yesterday.

Notably, it is the second update the game has received since its launch and potentially the largest one yet.

Per patch notes shared by Shiba Eternity Discord moderator Queenie, the latest version offers at least ten key fixes, preventing some in-game exploits and improving the gaming experience.

Discord Shiba Eternity Update

The game received its first upgrade toward the end of November. Per patch notes provided by Queenie, it offered only 2 “hotfixes” despite claims from Shytoshi Kusama that the upgrade would fix over 100 bugs. Notably, the upgrade fixed a bug that caused players to lose rank and fixed issues causing the information button on the discipline selection screen that caused it to display wrong information.

The highly anticipated Shiba Inu mobile card collection game went live in October, as reported by The Crypto Basic. So far, it has received over 250,000 downloads combining the data from Android and Apple app stores, with a 4.8-star rating on both platforms at press time.

In a tweet yesterday, veteran game developer William Volk, who served as a consultant on the project, said it was one of his best projects.

“I am proud of this amazing team,” Volk tweeted. “This [Shiba Eternity] is the highest-rated card game and one of the best things I have worked on in my entire career.”

Notably, the focus now is on advertising the game, the blockchain version, and Shibarium, as Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama revealed in the blog post accompanying the 1150-page-long guide in early November.

Developers Team Launches New Shiba Inu Website

Shiba Inu, lead developer, and others applaud the team behind the launch of an updated SHIB website.

The Shiba Inu dev team has continued to receive positive feedback following the launch of an updated version of the SHIB website. Several members of the Shiba Inu community, including lead developer Shytoshi Kusama, took to Twitter to commend the dev team for the website’s new look.

Today, Kusama applauded Trophias and his team for the website’s new design. He also apologized to SHIB holders on behalf of the website dev team led by Trophias. According to Kusama, the countdown to Shiba Inu’s updated website may have misled many into thinking the team was referring to Shibarium, an Ethereum layer-2 scaling network.

“Although not in control of that, I apologize for any confusion,” Kusama added.

Furthermore, SHIB KNIGHT, a Shiba Inu influencer, also applauded the team for the new website design.

Reacting to the positive feedback, Trophias shared some updates that still need to be carried out on the website.

“Hey ShibArmy, thanks for the incoming feedback on the website so far! We’ll be fixing some mobile issues that cropped up and to fix some embedded PDF’s that seem to be just too small to read. Keep the feedback flowing and we’ll capture it to improve going forward!”

It bears mentioning that updating Shiba Inu’s website is considered the first step toward the launch of Shibarium.

SHIB Holders Frustrated With the Delay of Shibarium

In recent times, SHIB holders have been led to believe that Shibarium’s Beta launch was around the corner following the mysterious tweets shared by Shiba Inu’s official team members. Earlier this month, top Shiba Inu official team member Shib Trophias tweeted about a countdown to the launch of an unnamed project.

With not many details revealed, members of the Shiba Inu community believed the countdown was for Shibarium, an Ethereum Layer-2 scaling network. However, a recent update shared by Trophias over the weekend suggests that the countdown was for Shiba Inu’s official website, not Shibarium.

While the ongoing upgrade of Shiba Inu’s website has continued to get positive feedback from some members of SHIBArmy, others have slammed the team for the recent confusion caused by the countdown.

Trophias Says Shibarium Can’t Launch Without First Updating the Website

Shib Trophias also joined Kusama to react to SHIB holders’ frustration following the delay of Shibarium’s launch. According to Trophias, the team cannot launch Shibarium without first updating the official Shiba Inu website.

Trophias made this known in a tweet today, saying the Shiba Inu team understands the frustration of SHIB holders regarding the delay of Shibarium’s launch.

“As for Shibarium…we understand some may be upset as you were expecting an update on the much anticipated Shibarium. Realistically, we can’t launch everything all at once,” Trophias said.

He added that launching Shibarium needs to be done carefully and thoughtfully to avoid mistakes that could be fatal. Trophias said the foremost priority was getting a place to share information and other updates, adding:

“The site also is ever evolving and information will be added dynamically and presently at the will of delivery our way. It also conveys the first phase to what we hope will be a sequenced release of productive information to our upcoming release in coming days.”

41M Shib Burnt In a Day, and Shiba Inu Adds 10K New Holders

Over 41.45 Million Shiba Inu (SHIB) burned in the past 24 hours; also, 10K new holders joined SHIB.

Shiba Inu enthusiasts have permanently removed 41,452,234 (41.45M) SHIB through nine transactions in the past 24 hours.

SHIB Super Store

The most prominent Shiba Inu burn project, named “SHIB Super Store,” incinerated a whopping 32 Million SHIB in a single transaction.

SHIB Super Store recently reported that the individual SHIB Burn project owned by the Game Developer Travis Johnson had sent a gigantic 32,314,923 (32.31M) SHIB to the dead wallet in one significant transaction using the official SHIB Burn Portal. Following the Burn Event, SHIB Super Store shared screenshots taken from the SHIB Burn Portal with the Community as a “Proof of Burn.”

Burn Rate

The said burn transaction caused Shiba Inu’s burn rate to surge only 32.87% over the last day.

New Holders

On the other hand, Shiba Inu’s Community continues to grow as the current holder count for the world’s most popular canine-themed cryptocurrency rises to 1,267,070 (1.26M), with a 0.017% increase over the last day. A total of 10,410 new holders joined hands with Shiba Inu Community in the past two weeks alone, per data provided by Etherscan.io.

This rise in holders is followed by the SHIB’s continuous mainstream adoption all across the globe. Recently, Virginia-based luxury car dealer Aston Marton Washington D.C. added support for Shiba Inu via BitPay. As reported earlier by The Crypto Basic, over 1.80 million CMC users have Shiba on their watchlists and are keeping an eye on recent SHIB price movements on CoinMarketCap.

After Cardano Founder, Vitalik Buterin Attacks XRP

0

Schwartz speaks out as Buterin mischaracterizes XRP.

Ripple CTO David Schwartz has bashed Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin for not knowing or pretending to be ignorant of the difference between Ripple and XRP.

“All this time, and he [Buterin] still doesn’t understand, or is pretending not to understand, that Ripple is a company and XRP is a digital asset,” Schwartz tweeted yesterday. “He thinks XRP can say things!”

It came in response to comments from the Ethereum co-founder on the latest episode of the Bankless podcast. Buterin speaking to the hosts, claimed that XRP is “completely centralized” but is still treated like regular crypto going ahead to highlight grudges against the community again. According to Buterin, XRP has not apologized for claiming that Bitcoin and Ethereum are Chinese-controlled.

…like the only qualification to be able to call yourself part of the crypto space is to like somehow use cryptography and to have some change in the data structure. Those are literally the qualities to call yourself decentralized; you don’t even need decentralization… like XRP, you know, they’re like still completely Central realized… and uh, you know, still they haven’t apologized for writing documents to the US government basically saying that they should be favored over Bitcoin and Ethereum because Bitcoin and Ethereum are China controlled… Vitalik said.“

Ripple lawyers authored the claim that Bitcoin and Ethereum are Chinese-controlled as part of its defense case in the legal battle against the US Securities and Exchange Commission. It was to highlight the risks of miner concentration in China which could make the networks susceptible to Chinese policies, as Schwartz explained in August when Buterin brought it up, supporting anti-XRP sentiment within the Ethereum community.

As previously reported, John Deaton described the sentiments from the Ethereum co-founder in August as insensitive to XRP holders, especially those who, before the SEC case, knew nothing about Ripple.

XRPGoat (@XRPGoat) asserted that Buterin’s latest comment showed how bias could turn the best minds away from the truth.

It is worth noting that the XRP community is no stranger to these types of narratives and has often had to explain the difference between Ripple, the company, and the XRP Ledger, a decentralized network used by Ripple, institutions, and retail investors. XRP remains widely misunderstood despite being one of the oldest cryptocurrencies, as highlighted by Deaton in November.

Recall that Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently said that XRP does not provide any technical value, and the community is “toxic and petty.” He further said that he has nothing to do with XRP and will no more comment on anything related to Ripple and XRP.

Hoskinson Says XRP Community is Toxic and Petty, Ripple CTO Responds

0

Charles Hoskinson’s contemporary take on the XRP community comes shortly after he noted that he would no longer be commenting on XRP-related happenings.

On Dec 17th, Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, reiterated his displeasure at the sort of reception his comments on XRP and Ripple have invited from the XRP community. According to Hoskinson, his decision to refrain from making any further remarks on XRP-related happenings is based on an assertion that the XRP community is “toxic and petty.”

Hoskinson said this while replying to comments made by the official account of the 3T Warrior Academy Research Team. The handle expressed criticism at Hoskinson’s decision to stop commenting on all things XRP.

“This speech is similar to stating he will never again go to a conference where Bitcoin developers are also invited because some holders insulted him on Twitter.”

In response, Hoskinson noted that he plans to cut off anything related to XRP from his conversations and move on from it, stating that it is pointless to invite toxicity to one’s life. According to him, XRP does not provide any technical value, and the community is “toxic and petty.”

“There is no point inviting toxicity into your life. It’s abusive and pointless. Even in saying it now there are mocking baby memes. Life is too short. Move on and cut it out. XRP provides no partnership or technical value. The community is toxic and petty. I can live without it,” the 35-year-old American entrepreneur said in a Saturday tweet.

The latest comments have attracted mixed reactions from XRP proponents and critics alike. Notwithstanding the wave of replies, Hoskinson has chosen to reply to every remark with “No comment.”

In particular, David Schwartz, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Cryptographer at Ripple, advised Hoskinson not to make hasty comments based on the matter. Schwartz urged Hoskinson to reconsider his words after a few days.

“You may want to wait a few days, read this tweet back, and think about whether you’re sure that’s the combination of things you really want to say,” Schwartz advised.

But Hoskinson replied to Ripple CTO with the usual “No comment” remark.

Hoskinson’s Decision to not Comment on XRP-Related Happenings

As reported by The Crypto Basic, Hoskinson took to Twitter last Friday to disclose his decision not to comment on XRP-related happenings following the backlash from certain XRP proponents over his remarks on a possible December 15 settlement. He noted that his words were misconstrued by the media and made him look like a liar after the December 15 settlement failed to materialize.

In response to the backlash received, Hoskinson noted that he would no longer comment on anything related to XRP, as he would be cutting the community off. According to him, despite supporting Ripple in the legal battle with the U.S. SEC, he will remain mum, when questions on Ripple and XRP arise. “I’m just going to say, ‘no comments,'” he concluded. Hoskinson’s decision has not been received well by both XRP and ADA proponents.

Terra Classic Core Developer Zaradar Leaves Terra Rebels As Structural Cracks Appear

0

Zaradar leaves the Terra Rebels.

Tobias Andersen, AKA Zaradar, has left the Terra Rebels, a popular Terra Classic development group, per a tweet from the developer today.

The Terra Classic core developer cites disagreements over governance decisions related to funding as the reason for the decision.

“I have renounced my position in Terra Rebels due to an inability to align with the most recent governance discissions on funding,” Zaradar tweeted. “As a result, I have been removed from GitHub and can no longer service PRs. Please talk with @Raider7019, who will be managing it moving forward.”

Notably, the developer has dropped the TR tag at the end of his moniker, now going by @ZaradarBH instead of @ZaradarTR.

It is worth noting that a recent proposal allocating 937.5 million Terra Luna Classic to the Terra Rebels has been the subject of intense controversy within the community. The funding may also be creating a divide within the development group. Notably, the group has reduced its headcount by about ten persons since receiving the funding, as The Crypto Basic reported today.

Terra Rebels admin ClanMudhorn has addressed Zaradar’s exit in a message on the Discord announcement channel. The admin alleges that Zaradar disagreed with a funding model that allocates funding to active contributors and provides a stipend for inactive contributors for past work. In addition, ClanMudhorn says Zaradar disagreed with a proposal to fund the Terra Rebels with Layer 2 funding.

“He disagreed with that approach and asked us to convert him to a GH outside collaborator,” the Terra Rebels admin wrote. “We suggested to him that he take some time to think over that decision. He then decided to leave TR, so we complied with his original request regarding GH.”

Despite ClanMudhorn’s statements, there are grumbles of structural problems within the group. Duncan Day (@wrapped_dday), who also recently left the group, alleged censorship and power concentration issues within the group. In addition, the former business developer at the group alleged that not much gets done due to bureaucracy, saying only 8 out of its 65 members are truly active.

Per a recent tweet from Classy (@ClassyCrypto_), a community influencer, the Terra Rebels have downsized to only 12 active members.

Rex Harrison, AKA Rexzy (@RexYellerBelly), a senior member of TerraCVita, a competing development group, has taken advantage of recent developments to throw shade at the Terra Rebels, urging community members to stake with TerraCVita to fund a “stable” development team.

While Zaradar’s next step is unclear, many agree it will be a big loss if he leaves the Terra Classic network entirely.
