Shiba Inu Coin’s project lead has announced the ‘Dog Park’ – a new expansion forming part of ‘ShibaSwap 2.0’ designed to legitimize third-party community products on the edge of the SHIB universe.

Shytoshi Kusama announced the Dog Park in their Medium post discussing CoinMarketCap’s Shiba circulating supply, and a potential Robinhood listing.

In recent months, SHIB has surged in popularity, hitting one million holders over the weekend. As a result, an increased number of scams and tokens have attempted to affiliate themselves with the Shiba ecosystem. Kusama hit out at the “tomfoolery” of those “claiming to be an official part of our ecosystem or others just claiming that I’ve spoken to them or work with them”.

The Dog Park will help Shiba give weight to “a token or business outside of our core, but still part of our larger ecosystem”.

This will work with a redesigned and upgradedSniff Score. The ShibaSniff score previously gave ratings to tokens entering the Shiba ecosystem as a Woofable pair. It will now run from 0 to 100, with 100 being a perfect rating.

Core SHIB elements such as ShibaSwap and the upcoming Shibarium Layer-2 will make up the core ecosystem. Those running on top of Shibarium, for example, would form part of the Dog Park.

Kusama gave the examples of the SHIB Burner playlist, and Empress Princess Butterfly NFTs as projects that could play a part in the wider Dog Park.

The SHIB ecosystem has dramatically expanded within the last six months, with the likes of the Shiboshi NFTs and ShibaSwap. Hodlers have asked the ShibArmy to stop calling Shiba Inu a meme coin because of its newfound utility.

Geoff Lewis, co-founder and managing partner of venture capital firm Bedrock Capital, compared Shiba Inu and the electric car maker Rivian.

According to Geoff Lewis, the leading comparison between Shiba Inu and Rivian are that they achieved enormous capitalization without doing anything valuable. The capitalization of SHIB is growing simply on the hype, and the capitalization of Rivian has exceeded $ 100 billion, although the manufacturer is only setting up the release of its first commercial product, RITs.

Rivian Automotive held an IPO on Nasdaq and became the largest US company of the past 9 years. Rivian share price is $123 per share, and the company’s capitalization reached $104 billion, which is more than most car manufacturers in the world.

The most interesting thing is that Rivian has not yet begun the mass production of electric vehicles. Since the start of production, only 56 R1T pickups have been assembled, and the company has not even started production of the R1S SUV yet.

Recall that at the end of October the capitalization of Shiba Inu reached as high as $50 billion, Since then, the SHIB has lost almost half of its capitalization and now the figure stands at $28 billion. Former NSA agent Edward Snowden also warned about investing in SHIB.

Shiba Inu holders are dropping the memecoin description when talking about SHIB, as the cryptocurrency seeks to promote utility over its memecoin origins.

With the launch of projects such as Shiboshi NFTs and ShibaSwap, the Shiba ecosystem has expanded beyond a meme.

SHIB, first marketed as the Dogecoin Killer, is seeking to break free of the negative connotations given to such cryptocurrencies -often called scams or Ponzi schemes.

“SHIB is not a mere memecoin anymore,”tweeted Shiba supporter Cris Kimura.“Now, SHIB is a payment currency that will be available worldwide soon.”

With SHIB thrusted further into the limelight in the last month, members of the ShibArmy stopped calling Shiba Inu a memecoin. Tweets shunning the memecoin label have gained hundreds, or thousands of likes, for example
